- I TOOK A WALK AROUND MAKATI AND MANILA... AND I WAS REMINDED AS WELL HOW GOOD FILIPINOS ARE AT SPEAKING ENGLISH!
Therine was busy with different meetings in the Philippines capital city, so I went to get a little exercise and experience the streets of Manila. I love walking and soaking up the world around me! In this video, we head out through a residential area of Makati that leads to the fifth district of Manila. Along the way, I spot some people celebrating Palm Sunday, meeting some local followers, and then learn about a relocation community. I have to say, some of my conversations when I reviewed the footage reminded me how great Filipinos are at speaking in English. Makes it really comfortable for Foreign Nationals walking around or exploring the city!
Philippines life continues... from Makati and Manila!

Very proud of what you do, Therine. Congratulations on your induction! It is well deserved for all of the hard work that you do.👏👏👏 Power on!💪
16:15 "Try to figure out what this is?"
Sir Kulas, those are "Gabi" leaves. We dry them out in the sun then cook as a dish with coconut milk called "Laing". It is often associated as a dish from the Bicol province region. Google it, it's true, I'm not "laing". 🤪✌🏼
what happened to BRET?
Love walking in Manila.
The city has so many different textures. So cool 🇬🇧💪🇵🇭
Kyle the Canadian turn into Filipino The Best of Vlogger all Time😱😱😱😂😂😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪👌👌👍🙏🙏🇵🇭❤️
He is dual citizen - he didn't give up his Canadian citizenship
Congratulations Therine! And congratulations Kulas for 11k steps while spreading good vibes.
Kulas, that barangay where you met Angelo looked kind of intimidating to walk through but all the people you encountered there were so kind and welcoming. That was so awesome to see! Definitely makes me rethink how I look at places like that - at least in the Philippines anyway. 😊💪🤙
All the murals around Manila are so impressive and beautiful. I love seeing them! They bring beauty to all the neighborhoods - not just the affluent. ❤
Its not like America. If your in America and you go walking around like that the kids will try to rob you or you might get shot. People in Asia may be poorer but most still have principals unlike the young in America.
You did walk a long mile I knew it because the places is so familiar I used to work near brgy San Antonio Makati to Paco Manila what a walk
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸. Glad you like the Philippines. I missed the country so dearly. Mabuhay🇵🇭

Hello Kulas and Therine, you're a great couple 👍💖looking forward for your wedding 💒
Of course Kulas, majority of us Filipinos are good in speaking English, our second language and used in schools. The Filipino people in general are courteous and kind. Stay safe and God bless you and your girl friend...

Haha that Yu Yu Hakusho at the end brings back a lot of memories. Yu Yu Hakusho is the original title of the series but the title was changed to Ghost Fighter when it received a Tagalog dub. The characters' names were also changed, with Eugene's original Japanese name being Yusuke. I believe you can watch it on streaming platforms online since Therine suggested you to watch it haha. The title and the characters' names were the same as in the original in the english dub as well.
I had no clue how popular it was until
@@BecomingFilipino It's a relatively old anime series that ran from 1992-1994 but became popular in the Philippines at around the early 2000s as that was when it received a Tagalog dub. It was shown on GMA every afternoon during the weekdays, along with Tagalog dubs of other anime series from that time period, like Dragon Ball Z.
Very nice 😊
Kulas thats taro gabi for ginataang gulay with bagongon masarap🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🥰🥰💪💪💪 and congrat Therine you are great💖💖💖💖
Ghost Fighter!!! nice series
Ang galing mo talaga Kulas 👍
Nice. ❤❤❤ 🎉🎉🎉
1st comment of the day ;D
That mango shake looks sooooo yummy! Thanks Kulas! More power!
Amazing the local treats you can find when you talk with people along the road :)
Those baby buses are a national treasure, having been in operation probably for more than 50 years, when movies were then in black and white.
The advantage of being a perpetual traveller is the chance to meet a lot of people from different walks of life. And it's easy for you to adapt great Kyle cz you have that propensity to act like them with a positive vibe.
I just came back from staying at the Air Residences where you started your walk. The Pick Up Coffee is becoming very popular. One of the things i loved about being there was the Salcedo Weekend Market was within walking distance with lots of fresh Filipino produce.
Ref 2:28. Look how neat and tidy the over hanging wires are!
Oooh... that mango shake is calling my name. There was a cafe along the main road in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur that my family and I would visit frequently on town days (we lived up in the mountains of Bessang Pass and a "town day" was a special trip to get things we needed). Anyways, I tried all their flavours and Mango was my favorite! I'm going back to the PH soon! Cheers.
Drying gabi leaves for a Bicolano dish called LAING. You might have had it before. It's a spicy coconut milk dish😁
Am your follower Kulas for the past years....am just near the Sacred Heart Church at San Antonio. Hope to see met you and have pic.
7:05 That was a Ferrari LOGO, Kyle, but like you, can't tell if it's an authentic FERRARI. 🚘 Looks good tho!!
Visit ka po sa Ayala Malls Circuit Makati... at the end of the mall nandun po yung Pasig River and Circuit Events Place (park)
14:47 😊 awesome
The ghost fighter theme song makes me smile
"gabi" leaves dried to be cooked as "laing"...
I have walked around the same area you are showing, a number of times at night. The only issues I’ve ever had were with other foreigners. Not a fan of Manila (to big for my tastes) but the people are wonderful.
that is my high school in san andres st. corner singalong, manila. i used to walk from home in the street parallel to the railways and the osmena highway up to the school.
He still following you to ask your channel 😂😂😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👌👌👍🇵🇭❤️
Ang layo ng nilakad mo kulas halos makarating ka na sa Paco Manila
Pabahay is housing project not relocation but that housing project was intended for relocation project.

oh, Kulas nakaabot ka na pala sa amin. sayang I've not had a chance to meet you. You've just crossed from San Antonio, Makati to San Andres, Manila.
Ghost Fighter number 1 anime nun mga bata pa kami.. :)
🌿 Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish 💕🙏🏼 subbed 👍🏼
Nkita din kita sa personal idol
Would love to walk around Manila someday 😁 Unfortunately I’m stuck in America lol
You passed by Dao Street where the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart is located. Not too far is the School for the Deaf and Blind where we (PLDT and SGV auditors) used to play basketball at its gym after lunch on a Saturday.
Great video today. I enjoyed the walking tour. 22:10 also Cocomelon is this magical kids youtube channel. "Magical" because I 've seen kids having a complete melt down and immediately stop when someone shows them the video.
(03:09) LOL! He's Kulas. Our Kulas. They have mistaken him for Dale Philip, the brutally frank Scottish vlogger who sparked controversy after calling out Starbucks customers who use the coffeeshop as workspace.
Mao na diha...
Nicholas!
😆👍
🥰🥰🥰
You are passing by Dao Street, where the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart is located.
❤️🇵🇭💯
I don't know why but when you wear coat, you look like Ben Stiller (comedian). I think barong suits you more.... LOL! Good vibes kabayan!
I feel a bit restricted in a suit haha
Kulas is very energetic
Kulas what time were you there in makati church, we were there also for oalm sunday.
👍👏😍
Kapansin pansin na may mga lugar sa street na maraming basura. Ano ang ginagawa ng mga local government, at hindi nila inaalgaan or ginagawa ang kanilang mga trabaho.
I'm from Makati City
have an awesome day in Makati!
@@BecomingFilipino I was there last month, Feb. 8 to Feb. 24 and back here in Vancouver Feb. 25.
Hi Kulas, malapit lang yong bahay na tinirhan ko doon sa Mango shake...Amping always ❤
Mango pa more! 💪💪
@@BecomingFilipino power on 💪💪
The name "Kulas" in the Philippines does not mean "White guy" or "Tisoy". It is a colloquial term that is often used to refer to someone who is simple, plain, or unassuming. It can also connote humility or modesty. In some contexts, it may carry a sense of endearment or affection.
In Iloilo Kulas is a nickname for Nicolas.
Power ON, 😂😂😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏💪💪💪👌👌👍🇵🇭❤️
that was eugene of the ghostfighter. i was addicted to it then.
