- Gawens of cebuano 123 walks the Cansaga Bay Bridge and towards Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City to visit the site where the 4th Cebu-Mactan Bridge will be constructed. This project has 2 components, a 3.3kms 4th Cebu-Mactan bridge with a 2.86kms elevated viaduct and a 4.9kms coastal road with a 4.75kms elevated viaduct that will connect to F. Zuellig Avenue in Mandaue City. This project will be funded through a loan from the Japanese government that was formally inked last June 8, 2020. So, will this 4th bridge alleviate the traffic from Mandaue, Liloan and Consolacion?? Whenever I visit North Cebu, I leave at 5am to avoid the horrendous gridlock between Cebu to Consolacion.

Ang sa Mandaue nga side, ang problema na pd kay ang Coastal Road kay sure ang taga Looc mo palag pd na kay maagi-an.

How many bridges already in Mactan? The government should focus the modernization of our transportation in Cebu. Why not build a subway train from North to South of Cebu it might solve the problem. Then build an affordable apartment for the squatters. I think this make Cebu progressive and proud.

As usual, if it is a national government project either the project will take decades before it gets started or not built at all. Since 2016 or more precisely, since 2017, when Villar held a national roadshow presentation in Cebu to announce (read: pamotbot) to the Cebuanos that Cebu will get billions of big-ticket projects from Malacanang including Metro Cebu Expressway, New Cebu International Container Port & Terminal, Integrated Mass Transit System (including LRT, monorail, BRT and cable car) and 4th Cebu-Mactan Bridge, not a single projects were ever started. The Metro Cebu Expressway has long been canceled since 2019 by Duterte himself and many people still think that the project is ongoing. Yes, there is an ongoing construction activities in Metro Cebu Expressway but it is the collateral of Cebu Provincial government, not by the national government. Gov. Gwen Garcia chose to spend its collateral amount to work a certain portion (3rd segment) of the whole project to show to the national government that Cebu is serious in building the project asap to solve its growing traffic problem by starting the project the soonest. However, Duterte didn't see it that way and cancelled the funding of the project for no apparent reason in late 2019 and offered the project to investors for a PPP mode. But the only interested bidder was MPIC who submitted its offer to NEDA in January 2020 and until now, NEDA has never acted on it. Is it because Duterte hates Manny Pangilinan that he must have told NEDA to delay the evaluation of MPIC's offer? Only God knows. Duterte sits as a Chairman of NEDA Board. Now you know why.

Morag infatuated with bridges ang planners sa Metro Cebu, wa nila tan-awa unsa ka piot ang mga kalsada sa kada syudad. Going to Mandaue from downtown Cebu city alone will take you an hour during rush hours, just a 5 km trip. This doesn’t make sense at all.
Yes kinahanglan dyud na nga bridge kay dagan man truck nga mo biyahi from mactan to the northern part. Wala man gani reklamo korea nga grabe ka daghan sa ilang taytayan. Ang dalan pdng sa colon gamay gyud na unya dili na mapadak an so to alleviate transport system nlng dyud unya i discourage ang mga tao nga mo gamit ug car. Like sa uban countries gamit sila then i park nila sa designated parking place then biyahi transort system pa sulod sa main street.
