Multiplayer is not very good on this game and spec ops on this game is probably one of the worst game modes on any COD game. I personally don't care for battle royale so to me this game is pretty much done.

They know what works, MW1 MW2, BLACK OPS 1, BLACK OPS2. But they continue to try and make the series into something its not. It should be condensed well designed maps and fun fast multiplayer but they keep trying to "reinvent" the series. The cod developers should go back to the best in the series and learn from those games.

Launch is impossible to prepare for. They only have a certain amount of servers, and when you have millions of people trying to get in at the same time, they cant handle it. It’s not the devs fault, it’s just a fact of how technology works

My analysis my be totally wrong here, but I feel that the appeal of the older COD games was that they embraced the fact they were arcade shooters. Back when Bo1 was around I would load up COD if I wanted to play a game that rewarded a fast playstyle. If I wanted a slower, more visceral experience, then I would play battlefield. To me, this COD has an identity crisis. The pace of gameplay fluctuates, and the weapons feel extremely weighty on a lightweight movement system. They are conflicting systems that kinda create an inconsistent experience. When I ran around in BO1 with my rapid fire MPL, I knew exactly how the games would play out.
James Shaw very well put. The sprint out time is awful. I want to run and gun but the input time to actually fire my weapon is so slow I haven’t adjusted to it
It has a few things to work through, but imo it feels how black ops felt to me. A little slow until you pull that uav or radar etc then push and pull the rest. The angles from every building and ground show you how open every spot really is so camping is pretty easy to take out

They made it that way, because the logic behind CoD's recoil system is how recoil works in real life, but instead of real physics and physical equations, there is a simpler arcady game logic. And CoD still has better movement than Battlefield and better maps. BF has struggled with maps since BF4. BF1 had great maps but that game had so many downsides it was just sad. They let their art team design the maps and then the level designers go in and fix them up to be playable... that's just wrong. They did that for both BF4's vanilla maps and BF5's maps.

Biggest concern I see is the pace of the game. Feels like I’m playing hardcore and I’m forced to take quick 1 on 1 gunfights as opposed to outskilling my opponents. Maybe i just need to get used to it, but I’ve even seen pro players dying a lot more in public matches

The only issues i have so far which i wish they can fix are Campaign: - Facing alot of bugs - renders and graphics go to low res for a few seconds sometimes Multiplayer: - Gun balancing - spawns are fucked ( i respawn and die instantly because someone was there) Spec Ops: Havent touched yet so no idea Might give it a few more days worth of gameplay and then leave my final review
Edit: forgot to mention that in multiplayer, the enemies are bery hard to see at times and really strain my eyes trying to figure out if that's an enemy in that corner or an object. Ill just keep updating this for everyone to have an idea 🤙

The reason this game gets boring is that Activision releases a new CoD game ever year, while also making boring pointless remasters that no one asks for. Instead of that, they should make new and better CoD games every 3 years, like Battlefield does.
@Brian Farley specifically why i didnt play battlefield and played COD instead, the maps were cool on it but i was a fam of the 3 lane, small quick combat maps of cod more, this one just more or less is battlefields maps, a million windows, dark corners and doors now to slightly poke open and camp, headglitches, its just not very fun unfortunately, including them changing the prestige system is the biggest #1 problem i have with this one, it takes out so much of the challenging feel of multiplayer of having to come back up levels and redo it, THAT was a grind, not grinding 100+ levels for only calling cards and then just going back up levels without actually unlocking useful things , idk its just alot of conflicting things

So far I can tell you I’ve been loving the gunplay and the netcode/servers feel better than the beta. The map designs are a bit bad but I’ve never been a big fan of IW map design that’s just personal preference. I’ve got like 7 hours into it and have only had like one or two matches that were bad but that tended to be more connection on my end
this is the first CoD i bought IN 8 years, and for some reason im better at CQC in BF1 with a sniper than i am in this game with P90, some strange latency shenanigans going on with this
For me, I’ve always been i battlefield player and I’m getting the same feeling. I want something different and for me this is it. I didn’t grow up with mw2 or bo1 or any of them really. So I’m pretty hyped
Part of the problem with maps in modern warfare is the game spawn system.i don't know if Infinity Ward decided for spawns not to flip this time around or what's actually going on, But i have been spawn trapped in every single map i have played.

Nope I love the maps in CoD 2019, they are still a little too small and a little too simple, but they are awesome. The entire game is awesome. This is the best CoD since Ghosts and I'd say easily a Top 4 CoD. CoD4>Ghosts>BO1>CoD:MW 2019.
I've got cod every year since bo2 (I went back and played cod2 cod3 cod4 waw mw2 bo1 and mw3) and I'm still in that get really hyped sort of mind set every year and for the first couple of months of bo4 it brought back those feelings then they added supply drops and it wasn't nearly as fun for the rest of the year. Hopefully this game has a better life span, it has a LOT of potential.
THEIR needs to be 2-3 people added to each team in the multiplayer. It's very slow and campy 80% of the time. The maps have these insane amounts of POVs to get shot from and with a 6 v 6, it is hard to not find someone just camping in a building or head glitching for their chopper gunner streak.

Maps are definitely the weak point for me. But the gameplay itself completely makes up for that

The reason this game gets boring is that Activision releases a new CoD game ever year, while also making boring pointless remasters that no one asks for. Instead of that, they should make new and better CoD games every 3 years, like Battlefield does.

@Brian Farley specifically why i didnt play battlefield and played COD instead, the maps were cool on it but i was a fam of the 3 lane, small quick combat maps of cod more, this one just more or less is battlefields maps, a million windows, dark corners and doors now to slightly poke open and camp, headglitches, its just not very fun unfortunately, including them changing the prestige system is the biggest #1 problem i have with this one, it takes out so much of the challenging feel of multiplayer of having to come back up levels and redo it, THAT was a grind, not grinding 100+ levels for only calling cards and then just going back up levels without actually unlocking useful things , idk its just alot of conflicting things

So far I can tell you I’ve been loving the gunplay and the netcode/servers feel better than the beta. The map designs are a bit bad but I’ve never been a big fan of IW map design that’s just personal preference. I’ve got like 7 hours into it and have only had like one or two matches that were bad but that tended to be more connection on my end
this is the first CoD i bought IN 8 years, and for some reason im better at CQC in BF1 with a sniper than i am in this game with P90, some strange latency shenanigans going on with this
Infinity Ward really seems like the cared a lot about making this game great. Lot of passion clearly went into this.

For me, I’ve always been i battlefield player and I’m getting the same feeling. I want something different and for me this is it. I didn’t grow up with mw2 or bo1 or any of them really. So I’m pretty hyped

Part of the problem with maps in modern warfare is the game spawn system.i don't know if Infinity Ward decided for spawns not to flip this time around or what's actually going on, But i have been spawn trapped in every single map i have played.

Nope I love the maps in CoD 2019, they are still a little too small and a little too simple, but they are awesome. The entire game is awesome. This is the best CoD since Ghosts and I'd say easily a Top 4 CoD. CoD4>Ghosts>BO1>CoD:MW 2019.

I've got cod every year since bo2 (I went back and played cod2 cod3 cod4 waw mw2 bo1 and mw3) and I'm still in that get really hyped sort of mind set every year and for the first couple of months of bo4 it brought back those feelings then they added supply drops and it wasn't nearly as fun for the rest of the year. Hopefully this game has a better life span, it has a LOT of potential.

THEIR needs to be 2-3 people added to each team in the multiplayer. It's very slow and campy 80% of the time. The maps have these insane amounts of POVs to get shot from and with a 6 v 6, it is hard to not find someone just camping in a building or head glitching for their chopper gunner streak.
