One week ago, the Weslaco Panthers’ softball team pulled off a stunner when they defeated Waco Midway on a walk-off grand slam in the state championship game. Sophomores Clarissa Mejia and Andrea Ortiz discussed their dramatic win and the school’s first softball state championship with KSAT’s Nate Kotisso.

They won because they played as a team always having trust in each other to play hard and not given-up to win . Ortiz always say's they won it because every team before her made sure they moved players around the plates and gave her a chance to do her part and bam, Walk-Off Grand Slam ! They are all MVP's
