Koreans sing a lot of different genres. Unfortunately most of the world only knows K-pop. They have some very good ballad singers, rock singers, R&B , indi singers, classical and opera singers.
Forestella is a cross over group. So you get it all in one song or other. They sing in multiple genres and multiple languages. All executed with perfection. Their voices suit each other very well. So their harmonies are Divine.
Two of them are trained opera singers. One a musical theatre artist. And the fourth an engineer with an aspiration to sing. He has the best countertenor/ soprano and rock voice. They studied in the best universities in Korea. The opera singers competed at a global level. But the four of them now have created a unique genre that’s incomparable.

This was sung on the Immortal songs show. Yes they have sung many covers on this show. Since this was done during Covid you only see a select few people in the audience. Yes if you watch the immortal songs show you will discover many amazing artists.
Forestella has won King of Kings title on this show six times in a row. So yes they are the best of the best.
Forestella is definitely not KPop. They define their style as crossover, a mix of opera, pop and anything in between. Their members have extensive musical background; 2 opera singers, one musical actor/singer, and one rock singer who also has the best soprano voice! Their covers of songs make them better than the originals! They also have their own originals, “For Life”, “Save our lives”, “Utopia”, “White nights “, and just recently a real KPop song, as a special thank you to their fans; it is a really corny song (on purpose), where they let loose and have fun. It is called “Kool”.
I would like to suggest next “Je suis malade”, “Nella Fantasia”, “Shape of you”, “Despacito”, “Maldita se Suerte”, “My Eden”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Bad Romance”, “Lazenca save us”. There are many more, this was just an introduction to different styles they sing in.

Two are classicly trained and have performed opera , one with high voice is not formally trained , but sings more rock style , the other is a musical theater performer . This group was formed after a korean tv singing compation , the group was formed through this show . They are considered a Cross over quartet , that can sing ANY style of music! This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die!
And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.
Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their new original song Utopia is a must check.
Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too.
Forestella released their new single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans.
This song, Scarborough Fair is from old English folk song. Simon & Garfunkel version is the most famous as far I know.
There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story.
Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, and rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him anymore.
BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in the same areas in fact while on my researching English references.. so it could be just for remembering the recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

They are great Korean vocal band/group calls Forestella. They sung many many songs. Even they were singing with French and Spanish language; Jesu de Malade and Despasito. Their best singing is Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Hope you guys react their songs again.
Welcome to the best vocal quartet out there. Forestella is not K-pop, they are a crossover quartet and combine different genres. Their latest music video "Kool" is K-pop though, but that's not what they usually sing.

Hi guys! Thanks for your reaction and welcome to Forestella ❤ Though they have sung pop songs, they're not a kpop band, but a crossover one. Two of them have classical training (the one who started singing and the bass), the one singing the high notes had no musical training before joining the group (he was in an amateur rock band) and the 4th member is a musical actor. If you want to listen to more of them, I'd recommend their covers of Bohemian Rhapsody, Je suis malade, Hijo de la Luna, Nella Fantasia, Lazenca save us and Bad Romance. They're a blessing to humanity :) This definitely is NOT K-Pop, and I prefer this crossover Popera much more :) Forestella does a FEW K-Pop songs, but are far more known for their classical crossover pieces. If you can nail this type of music, you can sing anything :) Do Hijo de La Luna next, and see your jaws drop again :) They were all contestants on a Korean vocal competition, towards the end the producer put some of the best voices together and voila.... I think 3 of them were already classicaly trained profesional performers, while the counter tenor with the high range had NO training before.. At times they zoomed on different guys than the actual person singing, which is why you thought the counter tenor was singing some lower parts, but he can sing some mid range rock extremely well..
Let's go to their another live stage, "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Time in a bottle". You will meet the best-ever ever you've never met before!
However, if you want to try 'K-pop,' then check out BTS. This band is more than just K-pop; they are the biggest band in the K-pop genre and the biggest band on this planet right now : ) Try their songs 'Black Swan' and 'Fake Love.' Their official music videos have English captions; just turn on the subtitles. I deeply appreciate your open-mindedness to new styles of music!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Forestella. Going down this rabbit hole is not something you will ever regret as Forestella are simply magnificent. There are many performances to check out but I'd suggest their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody which is the best cover of that song ever. Their cover of Legends Never Die (League of Legends World Championships 2017) is way better than the original. If you want to know more about them and how they got together I recommend Awkward Robots "A Helpful Guide To Forestella 2023" and the three part Forestory both are well worth the time. Looking forward to many more reactions. Enjoy the ride! FYI they have a few original tracks but be aware there is a three song trilogy so good to start with pt 1 Save Our Lives when you get to them.

But they are absolutely gifted talents and master every genre and style, which they constantly change or mix. They have been known worldwide since their spectacular versions of “Bad Romance” and “Despacito” went viral. They are very versatile and creative and I also definitely recommend their outstanding versions of "MAMA" (Original by EXO), "Legends Never Die" (from League of Legends) or "Lazenca Save Us" (EPIC!! korean rock). KBS Immortal Songs (I'll say IS) is a kind of remake rendition competition show for legendary musicians. Usually, someone living legend in Korean music is invited and 6~12 teams compete with a rendition of the songs related to the legend. But sometimes there are episodes inviting nobody and having specific themes. Now it's changed a little, the numbers of teams to 5~15. IS diversed the invited artists more like not only living legends but also popular young artists.
Each episode has a winner by audiences votes. At each half of the year, there's a King of the Kings episode (I'll say KoK). At the KoK episode, the winners from each episode through the period compete with each other with any cover they choose. So in KoK, no legend is invited.
Forestella began to be known to the world with their Bohemian Rhapsody and they have beautiful renditions of Heal the World, Scarborough Fair, We are the Champions, Smooth Criminal, Bad Romance, Despacito, etc. in IS.
Actually they are very strong competitors in this kind of music competition shows. They also had awesome performances in Phantom Singer All Stars (I'll say PSAS) in which JTBC invited all the Phantom Singer finalists groups and had competitions among crossover groups. Their Shape of you is a MUST-SEE performance. They sang it in 3 different languages- English, Spanish and isiZulu (one of the African languages) there. And their Time in a bottle, Je suis malade and Inner Universe in PSAS would be also stunning.
And for Canadians, I'd like to recommend their My heart will go on. No official video, only fan-cams but you can see their interpretation style enough.
