  • Here we see the old MJ MKIV tackling the greenwaste about a year and a half ago when i had it for a few days as a spare. I just had to get some small clips of this tired old truck still throwing the bins pretty good for its age. I have got some more to share of this truck from go pro footage to it working back in 2015 when it was a Ryde truck. It was a long day this one started off with one of the stabiliser bars snapping off and ripping off hose and snapping the fitting too. Got the hose and fitting fixed then tied the stabiliser bar down with a few old rags to keep it going and worked like a gem after that. The last clip shows the truck pretty full and paddle stalling, the great thing about the MJs is the one touch reverse function on the packer you can squeeze so many on something I appreciate now driving a Superior Pak for many years without this feature. Was great fun driving 22 for a few days back in 2021 brought back so many memories and damm these are great trucks. Sadly its retired now just like all the old Ryde side loaders, this one lasted 16 years in service. Wish i could have got more but at least its something.

    Arh so there now gone these well been a good truck this along with the others with an awesome green colour,sound and one of the best garbos Olsen. I would've like to have seen these with Veolia logos! I could've imagine collex Veolia regetting the 2006 contract.

      Thanks mate, definitely a good old truck 22 was, one of the better ones I got to use.

      @@AussieGarbo67 If it was collex Veolia in 2006 would these have been white with Veolia environmental services ( similar to Horsnby and Ku Ring Gai but with the City of Ryde logo) or the same green as they had like this except the numbers would be eg. 022 not SL022 and the hippopotamus would've only been on the trucks temporarily but removed shortly afterwards!
      Veolia would be better then suez imo as red, white and green go good together and along with the yellow hippopotamus.

    Seems to be a pretty common theme with all of us getting jobs in the industry then culling the videos. All those years filming other people and you finally throw one up of yourself haha. I bet you woulda been stoked to be given the keys for this ey. I reckon i’d need a new pair of jocks :p Imagine if they still had them now with the Veolia branding. How wrong would that look!? Good stuff mate 🤙🏼

      Yeah mate very good point there I thought I would start sharing all my stuff cause when i look at it, its all old trucks how time flies. Haha yeah first video of me on my channel but I just had too get something on this particular day just to savour the moment. Yeah mate you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face for the days I had this beast, arm revs up, bangs in, black and white hopper cam, old school switches for the controls, just a easy to use sideloader with no fancy gadgets. Hahaha it would look so right haha. Thanks for the comment mate !

      @willoughbygarbagefan Collex did Ryde before wsn so Veolia logos on them would be like if collex Veolia got Ryde again in 2006 and not wsn. I wanted to see these with Veolia on them as I can imagine collex Veolia getting them in 2006. Not sure if they wouldve been white with Veolia environmental services (probably would've look similar to Horsnby or Ku Ring Gai but with a City of Ryde logo) or the same green as they had. Veolia would look better on these then suez imo.

    Not just with an old worn out truck like this, one shouldn't be planting the bins into the ground while still holding them firmly in the grab.
    It is one of the reasons why things break, especially so easily.

    • @AussieGarbo67
      @AussieGarbo67  Před rokem

      I open the grabs to loosen it as i bring the arm down fron the hopper as you can see in the video. My old truck and new truck I had it setup where the grabs would open at anytime on the way down to release the bin a bit so you can just go straight down without stopping, way more efficient than stopping to put it down. One of the reasons I always tell them to remove the deadarm feature and change the grab open proximity so its not strangling the bin as you put it down, definitely less bin and grab wear. Stabilaer bar was already worn out parts were ordered once i reported they fault, they won’t replace unless it breaks.

    • @MegaDirtyHands
      @MegaDirtyHands Před rokem

      @@AussieGarbo67 Well I spotted at least two times where you were robotic and not smooth.
      Not to mention the rubbish excuse of having the dead man control taken off to not damaged the bin.
      There are only 4 hydraulic adjustments and 6 computer settings that are required to have any side loader made operating as smooth as silk with the highest degree of mechanical finesse possible.
      Everyone thinks its about more speed and pressure, without looking at the physics of the task.

    • @AussieGarbo67
      @AussieGarbo67  Před rokem

      @@MegaDirtyHands You realise this truck has faults too you may push the button on the joystick and it dosent always open or shut which was the case ? Something you just adapt too and deal with on the day. Well its not an excuse its actually a reason, on Superior Paks when you come down the grabs wont start releasing once you get past half way or a quarter of the way having the deadarm removed gives you the option to loosen the bin in the grabs as it comes down. I agree with you about getting the lifter running smoothly as possible but there is limitations sometimes to company and contract specifications that us as drivers have to abide by. I never said anything about speed and pressure being the secret to a great lifter ? Just had this truck for a few days as a spare and used and dealt with how it was it wasn’t perfect but you just deal and do your job.
