If you look at the video of her doing the "Squats" before she is confronted. She also has her tongue pressed against the side of her cheek. As an Army veteran from over 20 yrs ago and a runner/swimmer/ judo student this were in no way a "squat". The "deep squat" she showed for online info involves standing back up then squatting that low again.

I would say that 9/10 people don’t want to be recorded at the gym. Gyms need to address this behavior by instituting a no filming policy. I’m not saying a ban on phones or anything like that, just no narcissistic filming behavior.

She was bouncing, not doing pulse squats. Pulse squats are a controlled movement where you’re actively engaging your muscles. She can’t argue that she meant it as a stretch either because you shouldn’t bounce while stretching. It’s bad for you.

It's not that hard. There is absolutely no reason anyone needs to be recording anything in a public gym. Plenty of people struggle enough working out in public and the fact the gyms allow this behavior is the real problem. We have gyms that don't allow men to grunt when they lift weights so how is shit like this ok?

Hey, I’m actually in the exercise science industry unlike these “experts” on squats. But let’s say this wasn’t a squat technique, which it is. So what? To be honest I don’t think he truly “kicked” her phone. I think he just knocked it over with his foot. It just sounded like that because when you knock over a device that’s recording it seems violent. My gym has a no phone rule and I am so glad and bouncing doesn’t do stretching at all period and I have been trained in athletics and earned my degree that wasn’t exercise

When doing any form of stretch bounces and things of that sort are actually advised against because it can cause injuries. Depending on what stretch I imagine they could be pretty bad.

At the gyms I have patronized in the past and currently use, recording is prohibited.
My question about her squat or any squat: Why would you bounce? I can’t think of any exercise where you would bounce because I believe that could cause injury. Walking or stretching is a better way to prep for exercising a major muscle group.
This is simply my opinion based on my experience with exercising at a gym.

I was always taught from day one that in doing stretching warm ups you go slowly into a deep stretch, hold, and relax out of it with an emphasis on NOT being bouncy or forceful in the stretch in order to avoid injury.
The entire point of stretching is to relax the muscles and tendons.
Also where are all the videos of the men actually being creepy and inappropriate. It easily 100 to 1, perhaps way more by now, the other direction.
