      It happened in '95 the internet wasn't a big thing yet I'm pretty sure it was still dial-up and AOL CD's back then. So it was easier for people to plagiarize stand-up routines without getting busted. It was easier to lie about a lot of things without the internet and it's "detectives" lol

      For Farley and especially Sandler, their dismissals were blessings in disguise. Their brands of comedy were refined on SNL and were very successful for the time they were on the air... so it was only natural that studios made calls when these guys were available. Sandler's comedy is hit-or-miss for me but he hit the ground running when he was fired and never looked back.

    • @AJR-zg2py
      @AJR-zg2py Před 3 lety +2

      I still say to this that Chevy Chase's biggest enemy and downfall was Chevy Chase himself. He had a propensity to constantly ram his head up his own ass. He appeared on a talk show in the 90s (I think it was Charlie Rose?) and he went on a mini-tirade naming folks and ranting about his apparent lack of good quality work... and the host tried to get him to back off because comments like that can easily torpedo your career. But Chase didn't stop, and the host seemed genuinely disappointed and sad when he did his sign-off. He just saw a man cut off his own head in front of him after trying to stop him.

    • @Steve_Stowers
