The fact that he gets the final say during the production gives me hope.
“Final say” that hilarious. A multi billion dollar company isn’t gonna let some goy actor have “final say” they gonna make everyone gay, black and female and Henry will be the sidekick in his own show.
I just hope his Love for it isn't just a huge PR-Move from his Side, but we will see.
Also, I have 13 Years of Experience in Stage Setting for Movies and Series, and I've been into Warhammer since I was 12. As soon as I heard that there was a Production happening, I tried to contact someone, anyone, to get in on it. Impossible. Amazon Studios doesn't have a Person you can contact and while you can send a Letter to Mr. Cavil himself, I doubt it would lead to anything, just another piece of paper in the pile :P
@@RaaBae The love for Warhammer was well known long before this project was first mentioned, so that should not be a problem.
Like in the LOTR series with Tolkien family? Riiiiiight... They ignored them and ruined it.
@@RaaBae can't help to send it anyway. Never know some one on the production staff might be someone you've worked with before and get you in.
i dont know anything about Warhammer, but the fact that Cavil is an actual fan is very promising. after the Witcher, Cavil clearly cares about his projects
Edit: reply section, stop saying toxic moronic nonsense
You should get into it! It's a great universe with a fantastic setting.
It is Amazon they will require many gay characters and a powerful female lead that shows stupid men how it is done or they will shut the project down.
@@rooster1012 Yup, it's already dead to me.
@@rooster1012 is there even that many Amazon shows/projects to draw from that would lead you to this conclusion?

We _have_ to be there for him.
"Gondor calls for aid."
Nah issue with Witcher was the producers and writers having huge ego's.... they can write a story like they have and it is half decent HOWEVER it isn't faithful to the source material really at all THAT is the problem.
I have no doubt Henry Cavill will do his best to stay true to the source material.
I cannot say the same for Amazon.
lets hope they do,but cavill working with warhammer on this as well i cant see them taking it anywhere from where its meant to go
id watch anything with Henry Cavil, he's earned our loyalty
If anyone had read the entire Horus Heresy trilogy, Cavil is the only one I would believe if he said it.
Witcher show sucked. dont pretend you watch all the seasons wit him in it. but yeah, he's great. wish he would stop signing with garbage publications that just want o disrespect the franchises.
@@isturbo1984 well, at least with this one hes the producer so he can't be ignored 24/7 as what happened in the witcher when he kept protesting to changes that went away from the source material
@@isturbo1984 it's one of those times where you should slow down on speaking and understand what you're saying. he signed on witcher because they said they'd stay true to the source material. he also said as soon as the deviated from it, he's going to leave the show.

I'm not even gonna watch it because i just got sucked head first into the warhammer rabbit hole, but just to support a good, heartfelt production
I've been hoping for Eisenhorn. It would be perfect to introduce new viewers into the universe, a stead drip feed of good solid story telling, not straight it at the deep end, as much as I'd love to see that too.. and it's a format that everyone's familiar with
agree. the first book especially could be a very good movie.
from what I've read he's said he's either doing Eisenhorn or Cain, both are good picks imo.
cain or Gaunt would be the perfect start for noobies
@@Brandon-ff1yo
I was hoping for Ciaphas Cain because Henry looks exactly like him except for that jaw and chin which is a bit too much.
Another reason why i wanted Henry to play Cain is because space marines would be a rare sight rather than something that you see all over the place.
It would also save on costume costs but then again they would need more actors to play as the imperial guard whom would "die" in huge numbers.
@@spleenslitta7595 oooh. he is gonna play them? he would be a good astartes. one of guillimans ultramarines probably.
If I learned something from a lot of stuff, especially Baldurs gate 3 and Elden Ring,is if you do a really good job by targeting the core audience of the style it originates from, other people will jump in to check around what is happening out of curiosity,so having Henry and if he just does a decent job making a series for Warhammer fans other people will also join 100%.
Henry is always a living legend in our heart.
He is a hero for every nerd in the world 😊
Henry Cavil is incredibly passionate about Warhammer. I think that if he assembles a good team of staff and writers who are equally as passionate as he is, I can see his show succeeding.
He'll half to battle Amazon. After what they did to rings of power, he has the fight of his life on his hands
That costume....
Hydra Dominatus.
Henry Cavil is "one of us" only he is a extremely good looking famous actor
@@dbz9393 I have faith in him. But one warrior can only do so much against the woke empire. Their vile taint runs deep. It's like fighting chaos space Marines.
I think one of the reasons he wants to be a successful actor, is that so he can make movies or shows from his favourite games.
Its going to be Eisenhorn first. Its a great story and a very good introduction into the setting. I could see Gaunts Ghost being a series in the future. As for the Horus Heresy, thats a monster to tackle and they would be crazy to try and do that out the gate.
it would be very appealing to the execs and shareholders though, there's already so much written material about HH that you could make content from it alone for a century. With multiple spin-offs. But honestly, I'd like to see Henry film whatever he personally likes the most, not what "makes sense" to film. I'm partial to passion projects. :)
@@yujin_sumeragiwell look at rings of power. Trying to do Horus heresy first would be suicide and a cluster fuck of massive proportions. Make a small story that encapsulates the universe and gives insight into everything that happened in the last 10 millennia. That way people will be excited and will want to see a Horus heresy show.
@@yujin_sumeragiCavil already said that while the show is on Amazon the production company that is running the show is him and his gf. He has practically full creative control under the supervision of Games Workshop.
It's going to be Horus Heresy brother. They have to do it, because they need big blockbuster type shit.
I dont know, my money's on Ciaphas Cain being the story they follow first and then move on to Eisenhorn.
I love seeing Henry just overseeing everything. It warms my heart.
The Warhammer community stands with Mr Cavil. We have been waiting in hope for decades for something of quality to represent the universe. It’s a sleeping giant in my opinion and if done right, they could have endless possibilities moving forward.
A friend of mine works as a photographer in the movie industry and has worked with and knows Henry so I’m hoping he gets to work on this project so I can get a bit of insider info during its creation.
An actual fan wouldnt want warhammer touched by these freaks, henry was in witcher and they made a mess of that didnt they?
@@VeinyAngloid Henry didn't, and that was Netflix.
@@VeinyAngloidbut it wasn’t because of Henry Cavil, he tried his best to continue with the main line of the story material, he was consistently fighting with the producers & writing team of Netflix the Witcher, that’s precisely why he left, they didn’t listen or respect the Witcher Storyline and Henry didn’t like it a single bit!
If you have some free time, I recommend searching a quick CZcams Vid about it, it’s one of the rare good cases where an actor actually is a gigantic fan of the original IP and truly wants to bring it forward as it was intended

"If you try to please everyone, youll end up pleasing no one"
Is a motto the studio heads need to remember when making stuff like this and trying to bring in new people. Most things Ive gotten into was from word of mouth from people already interested in.
At least with Caville at the helm you cam trust itll respect the source material and hes VERY familiar with it
You are missing the whole point. Just as many do. I'm terribly vexed at how few people actually understand.
Just dont try to please the alt left twitter goblins and and it will already be a good product
@@slaysyu915what do you mean?
@shadyhayden1519 People continue to make comments like: respect the source material, there are good stories, just use those, make a great product, give the customers what they want, and so on.
The powers making these shows/movies/video games and whatever else don't care. They don't care about making a good show, movie, or game. They don't care about the source material. They don't care if the fans don't want woke bs. And MOST surprisingly, they don't even care if it makes money. That threw me off for a while, too, AND it should be a HUGE red flag because we all know these greedy scumbags worship money
THE WHOLE POINT is to shove their world view down our throats. To brainwash the young people who don't know any better. And by the way, it's working on the stupid youth (the stupid is by design too). Anytime someone says we don't want blank or we don't want woke garbage, there are always mindless people defending the crap. There is a comment on this video about gay characters, I believe. The person made a comment saying they don't want gay characters shoved in (like they are everywhere). And of course, a few people had to say the person was a homopgobe, completely missing the point. They are mindless and can't think for themselves.
@@slaysyu915what point are qe missing here? Go on, share your secret knowledge with the class.
What I think could work as an introduction for people is if they do a "The Wire" situation. They have it take place in a Hive City, specifically one section of it. And as the show continues, it slowly reaveals more of the world and all the players and factions involved, so you get to learn about how the galaxy works from the ground up as it expands further and further each season.
They’re pretty much forced to. I tried getting into warhammer but never could because of how huge it is. Slowly and organically introducing new stuff is the only way they’re gonna get new fans other than warhammer diehards and women/guys that want to bang henry
@@GodIwishIknewThis is true. You need to start from the foundations. The issue the Warcraft movie had was it didn’t have a direction in terms of core audience. They had so much stuff in that non Warcraft fans wouldn’t understand while trying to also please the Warcraft fans. It’s certainly a balancing act but starting from a root and then letting it grow is the best way to approach such a large franchise like Warhammer. Especially apt considering Warhammer directly influenced Warcraft
Or start with the Sisters of Battle since they represent everything the Imperium stands for
He is a sucessful actor and seems to be a great person too, glad to see him have the power to decide what projects he wants to be part of and be proud of them.
HENRY CAVILL'S is already a LEGEND BEING A PC GAMER AND I M SUPPORTING HIM.
master race
Anyone here watch *"Flashgits"* ?
More to the point he is a 40K Player, runs a Custodes army.
I think adapting Ciaphas Cain would be a good starting point. Relatively simple stories, most of the cast is human, showcases many examples of each subfaction in the imperium and each of their enemies, main character can just straight up be Cavill in a Comissar uniform (he fits the description of Ciaphas)
The humour would go well with people, and if this works, they can move on to bigger stories with bigger budgets, like the horus heresy, eisenhorn, the infinite and the divine, and yadi yada.
Totally agree, would be great to start there and slowly build towards the more expansive stories. However, I bet Henry really wants to play some primarch level character instead.
Whatever they do, it better not have that marvel-style humour that was also present in the Witcher.
I cannot stand the heeheehaha at every irreverent moment.
It was also in Venom and felt very jarring.
@@Arpearpearpe ciaphas cain is pretty up there when it comes to heroes of the imperium...
@@astrovarius543 you mean what it needs is good writing, period.
@@Arpearpearpe yeah the issue is that whatever character Cavill picks, that's IT for him. Like, he can't play Gaunt, and then play Marneus Calgar, and then play the Emperor. So it'll need to be a story with enough length that he can be present in a lot of screentime and not have his story end abruptly
I've never really gotten into WH but the lore looks really cool and rich. I would definitely watch this, especially since Cavil, a big 40k, is doing it. I have faith he would do it justice.
The lore is as deep as any novel. Thousands of stories can be told in 40k.
Cavill gotta do a series covering the first three books of the HH (Horus rising, False gods, Galaxy in flames)
If the trailer doesn't start with Loken saying "I was there when Horus slew the emperor" then they did something wrong xd
Good Luck & Godspeed Henry. I'm 110% wholeheartedly rooting for you & your Warhammer 40K project to succeed big-time. Amazon had better not deliver another f'n rings of power dung heap.
Warhammer 40K is a very dark bleak apocalyptic universe where everyone is either an Antihero or pure evil, there are no real good guys in the Warhammer 40K Universe and I really hope we see that type of atmosphere faithfully recreated in Henry's show and with Henry being such a hardcore Warhammer 40K megafan, I've no doubt that Henry is going to do his hardest to make sure that his show stays true to the Source Material as much as possible. I just hope that Henry surrounds himself with the right creative team to help him realize his vision for the show🤞🤞
I don't get why Paramount+ is still wasting time & money on that halo fanfic garbage. The ONLY thing entertaining about the halo show was Angry Joe's reviews about the halo show & that was it. Joe's halo show reviews were infinitely way more entertaining than the actual show itself.
Godspeed? Heresy!!
@@JustAnotherAccount8 Excuse him I think he meant to say "Emperors Speed"
In their defense, I was pleased with how Amazon wrapped up the Expanse.
@@JustAnotherAccount8Dude come on, you know what I mean😂
Wait, how would a warhammer 40k movie work? You need someone for the audience to grow attached to and root for or else your watching movies where one side does heinous things to the other side until you get a movie where two sides collide for an ultimate final battle.
Actually, that sounds dope. I'm game for that.
I REALLY believe Eisenhorn would be a great starting point. Its character driven. The cast revolving around Eisenhorn is full of diverse(in the traditional AND current day sense) characters who are full of personality. Getting into the 40k universe myself, the entire series felt very much like a chapter 1 to the whole universe. It held my hand and guided me through. I never felt overwhelmed by new information. Its a simple story in a complex universe. Many things happen that open a newcomer's curiosity to the greater universe...but the things that happen to the main cast alone will be fascinating enough to keep anyone's attention. It's a good "grounded" start where anyone could jump in.
Good for a mini series. For a movie i think the best one would prolly be something like Helsreach. Simple narrative that showcases a few differ factions, action-ed centered, you dont need to know anything about warhammer to follow the story or understand whats happening. It kinda like saving priavte ryan.
overrated af not gonna lie
lost me at the word diverse. how bout we stick with well fleshed out characters. diverse/diversity is what we got with rings of power...
@@wyldwabyt It *is* full of fleshed out characters.
Don't try to reasons with the maga crowd. They are about as brain rotten as the woke crowd.
Bro Horus Heresy is waaaaay to fuckin big, probably better to try something like Ciaphus Cain to start out with
This is gonna break the fan audience industry with a new genre of epicness. This could be the start of something special

I regret not seeing Dredd in the theaters. I honestly assumed it was going to suck. Wasn't until years later I watched and it instantly became my favorite comic book movie.
I'm still coping and seething to this day that we won't get a dredd sequel
Yeh marketing made it seem like the "strong wahmen" was going to be the focal point, so I was honestly shocked Dredd was still front and centre of the whole thing. She was honestly a great addition to the film as well. Her introduction in the movie was really well done too.
@@user-og6hl6lv7p Yeah, I like how Dredd is front and centre but we get to see her as a character "along for the ride"
Not that she's just tagging along, this was her mission too. But the whole "first day on the job" thing is terribly relatable and made a good character arc for her.
Then you reap what you sow
You mean the one with Stallone?
I think the biggest thing is that Henry Cavill has creative control. We already know that he is willing to walk away from a passion project if they stray away from the source material so I hope there are enough people at Amazon that see the amount of failed projects (such as their Ring of Power) and will give this a shot and just let him go to work and see what happens.
Hope Henry saves our asses because this is the one show that would be absolutely unwatchable with political correctness. I don’t want them to show satanists as misunderstood antiheroes and definitely don’t want them to tone down the brutality of the Imperium itself.
Netflix killed The Witcher show and GW just killed Cavills own 40K show. Well done GW, well done.
He teased that he’d grab his pen, sword and spear so we’re probably gonna see him as Sanguinius
Because this is 2023, I hesitate to go in with any sort of optimism, but because I know that Henry Cavill is at the head, some amount of optimism is absolutely deserved. Here’s to hoping that he gets everything he needs to succeed without getting bogged down by people who don’t share his vision.
Exatctly where I'm at.
But then you remember Amazon has done the rings of power. If Henry drops the project then we leave!
Remember even if everything turns out as badly as it possibly can, Grandpa Nurgle loves you.
@aaronmontgomery2055 my hope is in Henry and games workshop the ip holders. GW is very touchy about their ip its fanatical like there's a long history about it
He's not "at the head". He's exec producer, not the Showrunner. Yeah he's pushed massively for this, but his creative input drops massively once production starts.
Henry is literally the King of all of us gamers. He is essentially the final form we all strive to be. A true Gigachad.
hail to the king ❤
Not only that but he is just genuinely a good person, very at peace with life which I think we can all get behind
Nah I'm all good no need to put random dudes on pedestals for no specific reasons, worship yourself not others they are normal people just like you realistically and in the big picture they have done no more and no less than you
@@THIRTEENTH13TH wrong
yea id follow King Cavil absolutely!
I am still skeptical that it will happen. Henry has a VERY lore-accurate vision of what the show might be, while Amazon will most likely try to infuse all kinds of ESG nonsense into it at every turn. Suddenly, the Horus Heresy is going to be told from the point of view of a strong, female ship captain of color and an equally strong, lesbian Sister of Battle or some shit.
The Horus Heresy is not good TV. People have learned nothing from Game of Thrones. GoT worked because they kept it grounded, and very slowly added high fantasy elements.
The Horus Heresy is jerk off material for the fans, but it would alienate mainstream audience while having huge production costs.
@@eddgar-ce3md I agree there is so much to the Horus Heresy that would be difficult to translate to TV without compromising a lot, plus its a very "heavy" topic. I've always felt that a rogue trader or inquisitor's perspective might be good as it keeps the humanity but also shows the dark brutality of Warhammer. It allows some leeway for lore and characters and allows them to build a specific story tailored for TV instead of trying to fit a book series as long as the Horus heresy into a TV series. This would also allow them to slowly add things like Psykers, Space Marines and other more high fantasy features of Warhammer without them being central to the story, at least to begin with. I think this would be a good way to introduce Warhammer into the mainstream hopefully without compromising too much.
The obvious problem with this is it put a lot of trust on the studio to make a good story that still feels like Warhammer.
Honestly the best main line story to start with would either be Ciaphus Cain, Gaunts Ghosts, Eisenhorn, The first 3 books of the Horus Heresy, or Helsreach
Each of this stories introduce a different aspect of 40k, Cain is a good intro with the more light hearted tone that can get people more comfortable with the setting to start off with, Guants Ghosts would fit amazingly for people who love movies like saving private Ryan, Eisenhorn is just an amazing detective series and allows people to get a vib of the every day kinda stuff of 40k, The first 2 HH books show the tragedy of the setting as humanity has fallen from grace, and Helsreach is just a great action book
For me it's Garviel Loken and Nathaniel Garro. Their stories are definitely the best way to introduce 30K, and thus 40K's parameters, and perhaps do Thousand Sons immediately after. Everyone will have an opinion, but I would then do Blood Angels, White Scars, Dark Angels, and Space Wolves HH before anything else. I'd say Fulgrim (without the possession BS storyline) but it would never get past censors and it frankly would need to be told in its entirety without omission so we'll let that one marinate first (that is the very height of cosmic horror, symphonies of blood and eldritch music. Hellraiser with Space Marines!)
The penultimate piece for me in this universe would be the XXth's story. The key lies with them and it would be so cool and epic to see their story told and even explore the civil war within their legion that's never been fully fleshed out. Also it would be so dope to see Alpharius/Omegon tripping balls when the Cabal (not sure if that's the right group it's been literally a decade since i laast read HH) shows them the future and they just start screaming. Yeah I want to see Primarchs scream Cavill. Make it happen.
@@drlca6601 I don't think you can adequately portray a primarch or the emprah in a live action show. At best they could do space marines if they're like a singular character that dominates every scene they're in and then fucks off to do more important things. Like if a psyker character notices one like 50 meters away with other people around and is in awe saying something about "one of His Angels of Death" and at that moment the space marines turn to look at them, have the guy avert his gaze and then a camera shift later the marine is gone and then another character is like "woah this is a sanctioned psyker its cool" cuz the giant menacing armored transhuman snuck up right next to them in seconds, immediately having identified them as a psyker witch at a glance and moved to murder them the second they turned away.
Something jarring like that that really illustrates they are not like us normal humans but men rebuilt to serve as the emperor's weapon.
you definitely could do it, but it would have to have an abstract form of grandeur informing every aspect of the aesthetic, reminiscent of things like 1980s Leto, of Galadriel in LOTR, the Pharoah in SG, Aronofsky's The Fountain, Waterloo, with hints of sinister surrealism from The Cell, with huge audio/visual cues a la Nolan's Dark Knight/Interstellar, with cool internal thoughts scenes and the projection of absolute, masculine power fantasies with stylized sequences like Snyder's 300, without being too pretentious of course. It would all have to be very baroque and meta to achieve maximum catharsis. It is possible, but given current talent and political climate, it won't happen. I think we should just try to produce our own content that inspired by such things. It's already begun, especially with the new tech coming out every year empowering artists. These lame art-by-committee-types can't keep us down forever. I myself am working on a fantasy manga/comic still in early phases, but coming along. It will be marketed primarily to preteen-young teen demographic, but still features lots of grand set pieces and badassery. I dont have anything as gnarly as 40K yet, but one day I'll get to projects like that once I'm more skilled and have some notches under the proverbial belt. 40K is still great though and I hope to see it thrive, but after Primaris (not a tabletop player, only had a few models as a kid--loved some of the early HH--should've just made it armour upgrade) it's clear this company is just greedy and foolish. I just finished that book. It's great. I don't, however, think it would transition well into another medium.

I think one good way of doing it would be to start with either an Inquisitor story or a Rogue Trader story because that's two kinds of characters that can interact with big parts of the setting in meaningful ways and really show the diversity. Usually in 40k whenever two groups encounter eachother they're just gonna fight but a radical Inquisitor can hire ork freebootaz, a Rogue Trader could have an eldar or even a dark eldar in their retinue. They can go to different planets, encounter lots of threats on different scales.
I'm going to be watching it because Cavill has earned my respect, and the fact he's a genuine fan of the source material is even better. Lots of potential in millions of worlds and tens of thousands of years of human history.
My concern starting with the Heresy is you got a lot of backstory to explain leading up to that. A bunch of demi-Gods basically decide they've had enough with daddy, who rules an entire galactic empire, is immortal and is arguably the greatest psychic ever to have existed. You need to explain why they are plunging trillions of people into chaos, why half the Primarch's rebelled but half didn't, what are their motivations and hopes after the event. I can't see that being crammed in easily.
But I wouldn't mind that as a s3 build-up to the event, where we experience humanity's zenith only to see it all fall apart. My other concern is that Games Workshop, notoriously guarded with their IP, are likely to want to keep their cashcows away from Amazon's cut.
I personally wouldn't mind seeing the early life of a primarch, perhaps Ultramar and what happened there. Angron could be interesting only nobody likes him so probably wouldn't sell so many miniatures. Maybe Vulcan or The Lion instead, so there's some overlap with the 10th edition and Games Workshop can get all excited from increased sales.
We could also see a rogue trader or an inquisition plot, which would allow the audience to fill in the setting slowly and keep costs somewhat contained. It would be easy to build in backstory, political intrigue within the Imperium, or the horrors of the galaxy. Inquisitors also have quite a spectrum, perhaps ours could be allowed an alien or a blank or something to give that perspective.
Man If it's an Inquisitor storyline and is true to the lore, I'll be one happy SOB.
Or maybe just start out with a Space Hulk mission to rope people in. That stuff is intense.
If Henry has a lot of control I think it can work. He knows and respects the material.
Karl Urban absolutely killed it as Dredd. He got the voice right and everything "Mama's not the law....I'm the law."
there's so many different things they could cover I really hope this turns out well
Make it mature as hell!! No PG-13 crap!
Also hope they embrace how ridiculous over the top 40k is. One reason why I love it so much is how epic, weird and downright nightmarish it is.
Like a normal IG deployment is at least on the millions with tanks the size of small houses and artillery that is the definition of excessive firepower
I'm sure Amazon and Games Workshop won't screw him over. They are, after all, such trustworthy companies who have never been anti-consumer.
There is a decent chance they won't, the only reason they are doing this at all was to snatch up Henry in the first place

You can tell Henry truely loves warhammer just by the way he looks at the models
I can't wait to see Henry in a show that he is truly encompasses. I’m sure it'll be fire!
This is the role he has always needed, leading the charge and being able to make the big decisions
Warhammer series by someone who is so passionate enough to make sure that it will stick to the source material is amazing
Bro this show would be so huge, too see the warhammer 40k lore in full screen
all they need to do is follow the source material, and they'll do just fine
They need to follow the tabletop rule?
The source material is a collection of rulebooks from the 1980s. Everything else is derived and often retroconned media.
I just pray that he gets good writers and a good show runner
He is truly the hero we don't deserve but we need
Henry is such a good guy too man, I'm so happy for him.
People should remember that most of the stories in 40k aren't about Space Marines and big dudes in armor with even bigger guns. They're usually about the Inquisition and Guardsmen and the human nature, struggle, and intrigue of the universe. I honestly bet they story they tell will either be a Guardsmen, Inquisition or Rogue Trader story and maybe have one Space Marine show up as a tease
They can remember that as long as I get an episode that is nothing but tyranid screaming and fighting and eating.
The orc episode can have like, 3 minutes of dialog while Da Boss gets Da Boyz Waaghin' gud.
@@bytoadynolastname6149 this show needs a good Waaaagh!!!!! I need more space orcs they were the only army I ran for years till I got a witch hunter squad going just to counter some guy that only used tyranids 600 bucks spent just to shut one guy up worth it
honestly the helmet thing was like the least consequential aspect of the halo show. Just because you don't see him take his helmet off in the game doesn't mean he never does. The main probelm with the halo show was LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE
I remember playing halo PC on a Christian fundamentalist server. Religious law forbid them to play with dolls that had faces. Spawn camping with grenades was still allowed though.
Taking off the helmet is a thing. Mandalorian shouldn't have done it either
He's an empty husk, a shell, so anyone can fit into him and relate to him - the creators of master chief.
You right though, but the helmet is 1 of the basic things of what makes chief, chief.
The having sex with a covenant prisoner while cortana watches takes the cake though, fking weirdo writers.
@@VeNoMz_ This idea that we can only relate to characters that either look like us or don't have a face is extremely pervasive and is driving a lot of shitty decisions in media at the moment. You should be able to relate to him as an individual in his own right. Master Chief is a character and he always has been. We play as him, we don't become him.
He only goes where he can make the current commitment justice.
He is 1 in a million.
hear me out, we should follow the avenging son from when hes first awoken during the 13th black crusade, we see this rotting husk of an empire from the eyes of one who has seen what came before as we can flash back to the HH for some context clues to certain situations
The way Henry giggles when he sees the warhammer figurines made me smile. That's a gamer right there
Can't wait to watch Roboute Guilliman play as a powerful ethnic woman.
id love them to revist bark future that would work really well everyone loves the post apocolypse as the chaos gods where waking up
I like Henry as and Actor and also as a gamer, im confident that he will do well especially if we have his role as Geralt to go off
Lets hope Amazon doesn’t ruin this.
The warhammers lore is so raw and hardcore I can’t wait to see what they do with it. Me and my friends watch the warhammer cinematics all the time they’re sooooooo goood
"if they just stick to the core material" ah shit here we go again
Possibilities are endless within the 40k universe (would love a unification wars/crusade/heresy series as well)
I'm barely familiar with Warhammer but anyone who knows Henry Cavill knows this is going to be amazing. He understands this culture because he's actually a part of it and he truly cares about it. I can't think of any celebrity I'd want involved over him.
Btw of you want to try it out, there's a fan made animated movie called helsreach.
The animation is a bit rough at the start of the movie since the animator was learning as he did it, but it improves drastically and its great
I trust he would do it justice, but I'm not so sure Hollywood will be on board with his vision. I sure hope so!
@@Jet-ij9zc Oh I think I've heard about that fan animation and heard it was really good. Thanks for reminding me about it!
@@braoha123 They saw what happened when the writers didn't listen to him on Witcher. And I doubt Henry is willing to work with people on something like this anymore who he isn't confident in. We all know he's willing to walk away from projects he doesn't believe in.
Don't forget what Amazon did to Lord of the Rings. DOA.
but this is Vertigo producing it, with Amazon and Games Workshop funds. Also the other executive producer is Henry Cavil gf, and after The Witcher I doubt Henry Cavil would have accepted something that would butcher another franchise he likes
The Boys and Invincible were really solid adaptations though
@@battlep0t Hell, I would argue that The Boys show was better then it’s source material.
I want it to start at the end of the Horus Heracy and Cavil plays Malcador. Great way to set up a 40k universe. Some monologing from Malcador will help set the stage.
I think he def will pull it off and do a good job on it for a season 1 if its a show if its a movie it will just be badass I mean Henry IS a gamer like the rest of us lets not forget just cause he is a movie start he is human
Playing rogue trader has really made me love the universe. There's just not been a lot of content for me to consume with it personally, so I'm glad more stuff is coming out. Dawn of War was the only other warhammer game I liked. Also Warhammer to Cavill is like Deadpool to Reynolds, so I'm excited to see what it becomes.
I would love a Ciaphas Cain series, but that will require some really clever screenwriting to make the "edited autobiography" perspective translate properly, or at least get Cains internal thoughts on screen without it being janky. Gaunt or Eisenhorn are probably easier starting points.
I loved the books, but the problem is that they're a parody of a lot of other 40k tropes, and I think the wider non-40k audience wouldn't get a lot of it. I think it would be far better to start with something like eisenhorn or Gaunt's ghosts, and then if they do actually succeed in creating a warhammer cinematic universe Ciaphas Cain could come later.
Henry said in an interview, that he wouldn't wanna be an inquisitor in a universe where Primarchs and Custodes exist. Pretty sure this also involves the Astra Militarum.
Also GW would want to have a story covered, that grants them cross promotion for Space Marine 2 and their minis.
I just wanna see da boyz spewing utter chaos onto the screen 😂
Henry is a MASSIVE Warhammer nerd. Him getting to "final say" is going to be super interesting!
If by some miracle they respect Henry’s opinion then I believe it’ll be epic.
I just hope it isn't watered down for normies cuz the last thing we need is more tourists.
Given that Henry is an actual fan of 40k I trust him not to totally fuck it up
It's just a game, settle down gatekeepers 😂
@@thirdmonkey No.
@@LordSleven Problem isn't him. He was a Witcher fan too but the show sucked. I kinda knew the show would fail because after the short stories the novels arent really adaptable/exciting television, and the writers kinda couldn't commit to their own vision either way
@@brettwood8379 those short stories were doable if it were a mini series and not 10 episodes with fillers and woke sht.
Hive Fleet Behemoth would be an amazing Story to tell. From Tyran to Ultima.....
"The Horus Heresy" is a huge story in itself.
Hard to choose a good entry point
I hope they get it right.
I like Cavil and I would be interested to see WH40K done well.
I am not a big Warhammer fan but I like the universe and I played a little bit when I was a teenager.
I am so goddamn excited to see what Henry Cavill can show of the WH40k universe as its EASILY one of, if not the best fleshed out and most interesting scifi universe there is
And given Henry's commitment to Witcher and his enthusiasm for the 40k universe previously, I think we are in good hands lads
The Emperor Protects
I really hope they do the Horus....tho I hope season 1/2 is the unification of terra with the Thunder warriors...and then at some point they can have Baldemort do the "How could he" monologue....
If anyone can pull off a WH40K movie, it's Henry Cavill. I believe with all my heart that the man would not disappoint the fans, as he is a fan of WH40K. I'd like to see which era he would put the movie into and which character would he play. While I agree with Asmongold with introductory of the Horus Heresy, possibly making Henry's role as Emperor(maybe). I think a role as some regular human would do the movie good. Gregor Eisenhorn, Sebastian Yarrick, or Ciaphas Cain would be a great choice. Still, can't wait whoever character will be in the movie. And as always.
FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
I would love to see them do the Dawn of War 1 story as a series. The Orks, the Eldar, the treachery of Chaos, the struggle of the Imperial Guard, and the Blood Raven captain suspected of heresy by the Inquisition.
There's so much stuff to work with, so many fantastic character moments and so many different factions to be fascinated by.
Just as it brought in a horde of new fans 20 years ago, I think the story would remain equally popular today - if done justice.
Dawn of war would be an excellent story to see. I'm thinking to get "normal" people hooked into it, it needs to be a guardsmen or inquisition story mainly first. Mostly humans hunting xenos of sorts. Space marines later as much as I hate to say it. The universe needs to be established first without all the insanity of different legions/powers at play. Start small and build out.
i too want to see orks and also lizardmen
@@Alex876 Lizardmen aren't part of the 40k universe though o:
@@SleepyFen there always can be some minor xenos race that looks like lizard men :)
@@sirpieman300 Kroot might be the thing that comes closest : p
A Warhammer Fantasy series could be really cool too, but the difficulty about including Lizardmen is that the series would probably have to be told from a human perspective to make it easier for non-hobbyists to follow, and humans almost never come into contact with the protectors of the world.
A series about the Lizardmen driving the Skaven from Lustria would be very hard to sell to new fans if they don't already have a fairly deep understanding about the lore.
The Universe and source material for this is huuuuuge. We could be looking at a new saga of cinematic storytelling for the next decade+. I am beyond excited.
You can do lower budget if you adapt eisenhorn or Cane for lower budget and slowly find new blood for the community.
to be fair the budget will greatly depend on what kind of story they choose to make it can go from big battle for the control of a planet (forge world or hive world) to something more small like a inquisitor who managed to track down a chaos cult or smt
For a more grounded story (not in the least grounded, but the characters are at least generally human) they could go for the Ciaphas Cain route. Or Eisenhorn. The latter being more grimdark. But the general appeal could be bigger for the Ciaphas Cain route since it can have more lighthearted stories.
Of course I will likely love whatever they go for. If they want Henry as a Primarch, go for it. Hell, even as the Emperor himself if need be. He has a majestic aura around him.. but at the same time a nice guy vibe too. If it is up to Henry I know the story they bring to life will be great stuff. Let him have ALL say on the matters because despite how huge it may seem online, we are but a TINY TINY portion of the whole. Practically no one else knows the lore or ever dare to push themselves to learn it (have you opened the Warhammer wiki lately? Mere minor, established characters have entire stories to their name and if you DARE to open a Primarch or major character page it is literally a bible to read through. He has to do something sweet, to the point and entice people to wish to read up more on major characters that get minor roles in his creation.
I don’t play war hammer or watch his movies but that’s awesome to hear such a big fan of a franchise getting an opportunity to add to the collection of works he admired all his life! Happy for everyone involved!
He did that with the witcher aswell
Warhammer*
I don't play Warhammer either but I am a huge lore junky for it. The world of Warhammer 40k is so fucking crazy and dark and I love it
Watching Henry's face light up looking at the figurines is heart warming honestly. God I wish we had cool nerds like him to look up to when I was in school.
We need an Old World series of something with him playing Karl Franz... he's the perfect match!
I'd think he'd do great as Colonel-Comissar Gaunt with the Tanith First and only.
"They just gotta respect the source material" Cavill yes. Amazon... Let's check their track record... They keep propping Henry up in front of that glaring issue hoping you won't notice it.
For those who wants to be into Warhammer, where is the best place to start?
Walk into your local games workshop
@@KaffeboysDru but what if the closest game workshop is about 4000 miles away...
@@mop-kun2381 Then watch Flashgitz's Warhammer videos
@@mop-kun2381 like what do you want to get into, the figures, the tabeltop, lore. for me its mostly just the lore and paiting some figures.
Video Games, then move into books, then into tabletop if you want to. You should start with Rogue Trader or Dawn of War Series.
This would be insane! War hammer needs 10 movies for each race build up to an epic show down
I’m hoping he adapts the Caiphas Cain or Eisenhorn series since those are good starting points for people getting into warhammer 40k.
Asmongold, a very very Happy Christmas to you!!!
Henry has expressed his wanting to bring this epic universe to life and his love of WH40K. I started reading this books. I have no idea how this universe passed my notice. I am very excited to see what Henry and Amazon produce!
If I may, I started with the three Gregor Eisenhorn Books, he is an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos. Greatly enjoyed them. The Audible VO is very good!
Let's just hope it doesn't turn into the next Rings of Power
I love that they're just going straight for a whole universe
I think they're going to start with the unification wars just to show off the main characters and set the theme of the series
*FOR THE EMPEROR!*
Don't know much about warhammer but I hope it goes a lot better than how the Witcher show did.
The witcher show was not realised by cavill you know ?
If Henry Cavill is actually gonna be at the helm of this ts is going to be so dope
the 1st episode definitely will show a glimpse of the Horus Heresy for the first 2-5min but then we will definitely get an Imperial Guard story in the 41st millenium throughout the whole season.
