wired sells a good air pump with the two nuts and it is only 29.99
Awesome! Thanks for sharing that, I appreciate it. I'll pin this comment!
Ok…so maybe not so “brief and quick” but thank you very much!😊
On a smooth surface, locking out the front and rear suspension improves range.
Yeah, it definitely wasn't that quick lololol
Good Job! Thank You! : )@@leetjohnson
Full respect for a tremendous instructional! This is world class!
You explain the general physics, quirks and provide just enough details to ensure folks know the lay & can implement. That is NOT trivial & your camera + audio are perfect also.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate all of the feedback and kind words!
Received my Wired Freedom Monday. Started assembly Wednesday. After unboxing the first thing I did was to check for any visible damage and there was none. Next I put Flat Out in the tire. From this point on everything was a breeze until the front wheel. The skewer was bent. Contacted Wired and sent a brief text and photo documenting the damage. The replacement arrives Monday and by the way burnt orange was my favorite color.
Awesome! Glad Wired was able to help make it right!
Great video. I bought a pump for my rear shock due to it being out of air when I finally went to ride it. I fill it to 200lb pressure and im sure it drops 15-20 when it disconnects. I’m 5’7” 170lb and the bike is definitely borderline too big for me but I still love it! It feels like mine slowly looses air over a 2 weeks then I need to fill it again.
I have noticed a slight drop from disconnecting my pump too. Are you sure you screwed the cap on tight afterwards?
@@leetjohnson The air is getting past the seal slowly. I just take my pump with me. If it gets worse I’ll take it apart and try to repair it.
I finally rode my 24 Freedom yesterday. at 225lbs when I go over a bump I can feel that shock bottom out. I need to add some air to prevent that. Thanks for making the video. Good work.
You're welcome, let me know how it goes!
Excellent info. Thanks for sharing.
You are very welcome!!
Great information. Thank you!
Thank you!!
amazing video , i learned alot , thank you for your knowledge.
Thank you, I appreciate it!!
Great video man! Thank you
Thank you!!!
Nice video…appreciate it
Thank you! You're welcome.
Yes, need to get me this!! I only ride Dual shock frames of EBiking and to get a better shock absorber with settings is more to my liking. Thanks for this video upload!!!
Also a need to get thicker side panels for shock systems as well. Just noticed the side panels here and would love them to replace my not so sturdy side panels.
Thanks for watching!!
great tutorial
Thank you so much!
Let me first say, I'm not an air shock/suspension expert.
I liked how in the beginning "I want to make a quick but brief and detailed"...
Now even though the video is over 40 minutes, in my opinion if I were to edit this video, I don't see myself cutting anything out. Yes it might be a bit longer than what was anticipated, but I think everything needed to be said so the viewer, whether a novice or pro, got all the information. There is a lot of information that someone who has never “tinkered” with air shock/suspension might not know.
So definitely I'm SMASHING DAT LIKE BUTTON!!!! Good job.
Thank you so much! You are spot on... there were a bunch of spots when I was editing that I wanted to cut out, but I didn't want to make the video incomplete. I am glad you appreciated the full video, and it makes me feel like I made the right choice not to cut it down too much. Again, thank you!
Thanks, good information. I watched your other video with the ride through the park and all past the dam for the battery..... Considering buying one of these and selling my 5-year-old X-TREME E-BIKE 48V beach cruiser
Thank you! I can tell you now, you won't regret it if you buy one, so fun and fast/powerful.
Thank you for keeping it simple
No problem! Thank you for watching!
Awesome video once again! I assume I would load the bike up with all my gear and extra battery before doing this setup to account for the additional weight?
Thank you! Yes, you definitely want to have your full riding weight with all gear on before you do this suspension setup.
To the point again really well done.
Thank you so much!
Agreed,.. good information.
@@Doc.Holiday Thank you!
Good job, thanks.
Thank you!!
Another great video! How long does your first bar last? After I fully charge my 2024 wired freedom , my first bar goes away within only 1 or 2 miles... but the next bar lasts for about 20 miles... does that seem odd?
Thank you! That is strange, basically the opposite of mine. What is your P5 setting set to in the menu? I have heard 8 was correct, but now Wired says that 6 is the most accurate setting for P5.
@@leetjohnson in your video, P5 is at 16... you just mentioned 6 ... what do you think?
@johnbullet2223 16 is for the 2023 model. They changed the battery in 2024, so 6 is the correct setting for 2024 models.
Very informative video, well done. I am a heavy rider 300+ and I am concernerned that I'm putting too much stress on the shock. With the shock inflated to 250psi (max) I'm still getting about 50% sag. Which according to your video is way too much. What do you think about me installing a different shock? Do you know if a stiffer or higher compression type shock is even available? Or how about a spring type shock? I am working on losing weight but it's going to be a while and I don't want to damage my new bike. Thanks.
Thank you! I think you should be ok with it as long as the shock isn't completely bottoming out. How far is the o-ring going when you go over big bumps? I would just avoid doing any major jumps or off curbs, and it should be ok. There are other air shocks, but they can be quite expensive. I would just not do any major jumping with it, and it should last without any major issues.
If you’re too heavy, just ride in the middle or closed position to avoid bottoming out and adjust air pressure accordingly to utilize the full length the shock.
@jfly2249 great idea!
The blue o-ring is going down about halfway or a little farther when I go over decent bumps. I guess as long as it's not bottoming out it will be okay

Hey Solar...what do you keep your Wired tire PSI at for road riding?
I usually do 12-15psi for offroad and 15-18psi for onroad.
Thanks for a great video, just what I was looking for. Any good pump recommendations on Amazon?
Still waiting for my orange Wired Freedom!
I'd say any of them will work, just be sure the one you get has a guage on it. The higher rating ones are all fairly decent.
Solar,… I top out the front fork with a clunk when I pull up to hop something. Is there any way to tune that out or is that just the way it is with an economy heavy fat bike fork?
I noticed that mine does that too. I think it's just the cheap front fork. I've had other similar ebike setups that do that, too, but on my better pedal mountain bikes and dirtbikes with better forks, that doesn't happen. I'm surprised they don't have a top end bushing or dampener to prevent that clunking.
@@leetjohnson thanks, I assumed the same.
How do you add air ? Is it air that is in your shocks?🤔
Yes, for the rear shock. The front shock/spring has a compression knob at the top that makes it more firm or softer.
Any discount code on this bike ?
Not yet, but I'm working on it!
So, 180 psi was your final setting? I'm 240 lb, so I needed 210-220 psi. I like to pedal, so I keep my seat high enough so my legs can extend. If the suspension is too soft, you then need to take the seat higher.
I recently put it up to 200lbs. Now it doesn't get as close to bottoming out, while still using about 80% of the travel.
@@leetjohnsonI haven't ridden the bike yet, but I tested the suspension in my garage, and it bottoms out half way. I will leave it that way because I really don't want it to be too soft.
@@leetjohnsonbut man, I can't get over how this bike looks absolutely amazing! I feel like heads are gonna turn around on bike paths. I don't know how they can keep it at 2000 $.
@@SciD1 I agree! It's an amazing deal and an awesome bike!!
Im 5'4 and people say the bike is to big for me true???
It's definitely a big bike. I'd say you're right on the edge of fitting the bike.
@@leetjohnsonI have motorcycle experience but I truly know the importance of height of the bike and the rider. I wish I could test one!
@@Rue2love that would be awesome to be able to test ride one.
um... nothing changed
On mine or on yours? Be sure to use a high pressure pump. Mine changed a lot.
A "quick" how to 41 minute video? 🤔
😄 🤣 😂 My bad
