You could try selling them as craft items, to be finished by the buyer. Any leftovers you could finish at the clients request. In any case, not a failure in my books.

I dont understand the failure if you have that much product within and hour. Even if you added another hour to stain or paint, you should be still ahead because that would still put the show raye close to $100/h cash rate.

I don't see the failure here. The time you allowed yourself seemed unrealistic to start with. I'm more of a "take your time and get it right" kind of person. When I try to rush a project it usually ends badly and ends up costing more time anyway.
