I’m curious to know, would you say you’re passing down your lessons about self-discipline to your daughter, and is she becoming more disciplined in your eyes? Also doing the morning prayer, is it something your daughter has embraced, because I know my generation, and younger, we tend to deviate from church related practices
I care very much about discipline, and I sometimes don’t stick with it, in a that has been consequential, but I, for the most part, do practice self-discipline and I’m appreciative of it’s benefits. I don’t know if it’s the black community or humanity in general, but it seems like most really aren’t good with discipline, and learning it as adults is pretty hard.

Absolutely, passing down the value of self-discipline to my daughter is something I take very seriously. I’ve made it a point to incorporate lessons of self-discipline into our daily routines and lead by example. I can see her gradually adopting these practices, especially in managing her schoolwork and personal commitments.
Regarding the morning prayer, I’ve noticed a similar trend among younger generations moving away from traditional church practices. I’ve tried to introduce the concept of morning prayer to my daughter not just as a religious practice, but as a moment of mindfulness and gratitude to start the day positively. She’s embraced it in her own way. She is not an early bird like me, she stays in bed until the last possible minute--but whenever she wakes up, she starts her day in prayer.
I completely understand where you’re coming from regarding discipline. It’s a challenge for many, myself included, and it’s something that requires continuous effort. The benefits of self-discipline are immense, and it’s a trait that can impact every aspect of life. While it may seem that the black community, or people in general, struggle with discipline, it’s important to recognize that learning and improving upon it is a lifelong journey. It’s never too late to start or make progress. Your questions were excellent and really made me reflect on this topic more deeply than I had before. Thank you for that.
