- A crazy plan: turn a mobility scooter into a drift mobile, then take its original electric motor and put it into a drift trike!
In this series I am going to attempt the above to compliment my Nissan Sileighty drifter track car. This car is amazing fun but that doesn't mean I can't build up a drift squadron. Why? Well, why not? Hopefully this ridiculous build puts a smile on your face.
In this first installment, I go over the plans, test the drift capabilities of the standard vehicles and then begin to teardown and study the components of the mobility scooter. You will see a mobility scooter do donuts and burnouts in this video!
In the next part, I will show you how to wire up the TDPRO 1800w 48V brushless motor and controller, the original mobility scooter's 24V brushed motor, and begin fabrication on the frames of both vehicles.
I hope Initial D and Keiichi Tsuchiya fans enjoy the references in here, especially the Eurobeat song.

Rockin the safety thongs. love it
It's the only thing we're allowed to wear in Australia.
Hey mate this is awesome, curious to know if you ever considered doing something similar to a golf cart? I see heaps of shells/old ones on marketplace/gum tree
Why not just put a 48v controller on the existing motor? Looks like a fun project, though... :)
welded diff on a mobility scooter
That's what I'm trying to find info on.
G’day mate , did this dc speed controller increased the top speed of this motor? If so what speed do you think it got up to
I hope you be the scooter back together?
Yes it will, with more powerful motor.
