Thank you for sharing!! As a woman considerably older than you and struggling with different health issues but having to super-woman advocate for minimal health care, I appreciate you posting about your experiences. Please accept my best wishes for a thorough and smooth recovery! Looking forward to part 2. Take care!
@@Cullenore thank you!! Just had my procedure yesterday so def will post an update 💛
Good on you for being persistent in advocating for yourself. It definitely feels like some doctors actively do whatever they can to not help - I know thats not the case but every story I hear concerning womens health specifically, it definitely comes across that way.
It really was kind of wild! My doctor visited me a few hours into recovery and was like "yeah, no wonder you were in pain." Ultimately, my surgeon was wonderful and I'm so grateful to have found her.
You probably are aware by now but since you asked in the video, your surgeon will typically send any cyst tissue they remove to pathology (that's me!) to look at under a microscope and evaluate for concerning/ cancerous features. So there will be a report on what they find after your surgery (though the turnaround time on that can vary). Hope that helps! Wishing you a smooth recovery!
@@ThexImperfectionist so appreciate it! She said it could take up to a couple weeks, but actually had my procedure yesterday and confirmed stage 4 endometriosis! So at least there's that. 😬
@@itskatharinequinn Experienced surgeons can usually tell when they see it. Glad you have an answer, and hope it's all downhill from here!
Have you heard the tale of Henrietta Lacks?
Are they positive it is endometrial? I have had cysts and for a 10mm one I went on birth control for 3 months to shrink it. For the 5cm one I went on hormone therapy for a couple months. Both worked and I didn’t have those surgery. Wishing you the best!
@@HannahClaire1001 that's incredible! I actually had my surgery yesterday and she confirmed stage 4 endo! But so glad you were able to shrink yours without surgery! Thanks for the well wishes 🫶
@@itskatharinequinn the hurdles to jump through for women’s health is insane. I can’t even begin to talk about the fact that my reproductive endocrinologist made me believe that I could avoid surgery for an endometrial polyp by having an in office hysteroscopy. I did NOT avoid surgery, and they BOTH cost about $1400 after insurance. Bananas. I’m glad you got answers and hope you’re on the mend!
@@stoddsky woooof. I am NOT excited for the bill coming my way, but praying that on the other side of recovery I finally feel relief! Hope you're well
