Many AM 2.5 or 3.5 engines have long since had the NVA replaced, often by a good old PAW one, due to that weak aluminium part. A piece of neoprene tube can be slid over the needle body, and then pushed up over the spraybar nut to stop the needle moving and also stop any leaks.
Hello Mark, it is fantastic to see the AM engine running so well. I fly rc quite a lot and also F3A aerobatics here in Cape Town South Africa. Many years ago well at least 20 I bought a box of enginnes from a deceased estate. In there are some diesel engines including an AM10 and an AM15RC with a carb. They are still in their original boxes and don't look as if they have ever run. I was thinking of running them some time. What would be the best prop sizes for them? Also in the box were some Olson & Rice engines, a Jaguar junior and an Albon. Thanks for the great videos. Charlie Blakemore.
Thanks for the comment, pleased you like the videos, sounds like you have some good engines, always nice to get them running. On the AM 10 I would probably use a 8x4 or 7x6, and probably also on the 15 and see how they go, I would be looking for an rpm of around 10-11,000. Hope it goes well 😀
Well done Mark, it is so very satisfying to see an old diesel run well after a bit of patient fettling and tinkering!
Thanks for the comment, pleased you liked the run 😜

@@MarkRobinson555 thanks Mark.
Such a shame they don't make them anymore. Great little sport engines. Nice one.
Yes absolutely, thanks for the comment 😀
Were these popular in multi engine control line models? Thanks
Nice one Mark!
Out of interest, what’s the hot restart like, if you tried one of course.
It was fine starting without issue when hot 😀
Is it for sale Mark?
Not really, sorry 😀 Good luck finding one
Will you be building a Voetsak Tribute for it?
I will have to look into that, thanks 😀
