Doordash Drivers Are Going on Strike. The things I discuss are - When is the strike? - Should you participate in it? - Is it going to help? - What is this going to change?
I'm so glade people are taking a stand against these greedy companies. What they are paying is not worth running my vehicle into the ground, chump change doesn't cover any major repairs or new tires etcetera, much less pay my mortgage and living expenses. I hope people stay strong and don't go out and dash or give rides at all. It's the only way things will change, by not making the company's money.
My friend think about it, there is absolutely no reason or motive for them to raise the base pay because they know there will always be desperate dashers that are broke and desperate, and they will take those $2.50-3 orders all day everyday due to being uneducated and not knowing how to work the system, and not have the system work and manipulate them. If dashers keep taking these low ball orders the Algo will keep pumping them out to the masses knowing they will get accepted. This protest will not work unfortunately because it's only going to be for one day and the broke and desperate morons of the gig world will work those days anyways. The only way it will hurt them monetarily is if everyone didn't work and I mean everyone but of course that will never happen. Of ot dod they would lose millions of dollars and customers would be outraged. Doing gig work is a losing proposition hands down it's for refs/border hoppers, uneducated, and even low class ignorant people that have no drive or motivation to better themselves and they think this can be a full term me career in which this was never intended to be a career. Now with the oversaturation there will be absolutely no way in hell these companies will raise base pay, knowing all the invaders crossing the border are willing to work for peanuts. I promise you gig work will only get worse with time and you will remember I told you so
It won't work. If DD doesn't have enough drivers that day they will just increase peak pay until they attract enough drivers to work, the same as they do everyday.
Here is my thoughts: Why would you boycott and strike between 11am to 2pm on a WEEKDAY! Most people are at work. And Valentine dinners and celebrations happen 5pm or after 5pm. So these same folks make money. The strike is like our politicians - A GOOD SHOW
3 things that Uber needs to fix on their app. 1. Stop allowing customers to tip bait. Protect your drivers and their earnings. Customers should have the option to add to the tip, not remove it completely. 2. Stop giving me offers while I am in the middle of verifying a customer’s ID on an alcohol delivery. It forces me to re-scan and is a distraction while I am serving a customer face to face. 3. Stop making it so easy to accidentally hit “accept” on an order we don’t want. Offers literally pop up out of nowhere while texting a customer or going offline and is hard to avoid.
Or we could all just boycott any orders that pay less than $1.50/mile! You shouldn't be taking those anyway. It'll cost you in the long run (i.e. gas and car mileage). Pickier drivers will force the companies to adjust.
Nope! Not with the oversaturation of drivers and border hoppers looking to work and take those $2.50-3 orders there is no reason or motive for DD to raise base pay as they know those orders will get accepted all day everyday

So its gonna happen in Feb..a slow month, on a Wed..a slow day, Valentines day, Not many people will order food anyway..Many drivers will have to spend the whole day with the one they are in love with. lol Brilliant! Oh yeah and the strike is for one day.
Been many strikes over the years. A single day does nothing. Even if millions of drivers went on strike. These companies and pull is so big it would take a full week at least of strike. But ultimately drivers need a seat at the table, not knocking on their door
The real issue is that there are entirely too many drivers on the road and almost no barriers to entry. This is what is causing the low wages that drivers are seeing. However, the compaies do like to have many drivers on the road because it helps keep their delivery times low and also puts downward pressure on cost - some drivers take horrible offers. Its an impossible problem to solve unless government steps in to regulate the industry. Even in that case, you'd see prices for the service go up, and this might imact demand.

Doordash is lucrative here. Tho here is weird. We’re not all “blocked “ up like the rest of most zones. It’s a web wheel of roads. Very unique. Only this zone is like this in any area of over 4 states I’ve tried to dash. My issue is the 2 for 1 orders. Their quoting 12-15 for a double order. Two different stores. I cannot even get on door dash, or even schedule a dash, in the valley. When I do it's 60 miles away in another dash area all the time. I need to make money!
To hell with all these delivery services including Amazon. They are no exception having US drivers pee in the back of vans still in 2024 to keep up with the minimum pace.
This could possibly work but I don’t think it’ll make it this first time. This is the first time I’m hearing about this. I work tomorrow ❤ day and this weekend. If you were going to strike you need more advertisement of it. Reach all the drivers. If I wasn’t in CZcams I would if never known
Uber is advertising $17 per hour in Houston during peak. That’s before gas and wear/tear. This is absolutely a poverty job now and doesn’t make minimum wage in many places now.
I DD in the Atlantic City zone and noticed my orders aren't as frequent when promtion times start. I dont have a problem getting multiple orders before and after it starts.
They deactivated me on Saturday due to repeated instances of abnormally long delivery times. I call it BS my customer rates is 4.88, acceptance and completion rate were both 100%. My On time or early was 72% but I was getting better and I making 2689 deliveries. I was top dasher this and this is the thanks I get.
Because every other strike helped right? LoL There will NEVER be enough people doing the strike to even strike the attention from these companies. People will still work and customers will still get their shit and the companies wont do shit. What we need is for the government to make new laws for gig work companies that they have to abide by.
Honestly I think most drivers who hold a slot do not drive daily. The majority of orders are probably done by a much smaller percentage of dedicated drivers. I think these would be the drivers who are aware of the strike and would actually coordinate. I think a strike could do more than you think.
Unfortunately, the only thing a strike like this is going to do is give the participants a short paycheck. It’s not going to prove anything, it’s not going to solve anything and it’s not going to change anything. A lot more participants are needed and for an extended period of time is needed. And even then it’s not going to matter because if the current dashers don’t want to work they’ll just hire more that do. Things aren’t going to change until doordash is forced to do so.
Doordash is becoming a joke, for the last few months, they dropped the base pay , now it's only $2.00 what a joke, and they expect you to take a delivery for $2.00 without a tip, going 12 miles, I'm also NOT driving 2/14 I'll help support the strike
Man I did DoorDash in 2022 and was making bank 💰but when started to use it again in 2023 and DoorDash started that base pay /hourly wage crap. I didn’t make nothing it low ball trips and gas wasted . I don’t do it anymore but to strike standing for something is great y’all should do full 24hrs tomorrow.
It's quite simple. Stop taking orders that are not profitable or stop taking ANY orders at all. Stop worrying about the acceptance rate; they use this to get you to take BS orders. If each and every order isn't a transaction that is beneficial for ALL parties involved, it should be rejected.
11:19 I imagine in some areas there will be more participation. I think perhaps in my state the only increase in business will be due to the holiday. As it is people out here don’t even know what the word union means. When I asked my last employer at the HR office they looked at me like I had three heads.
Can we really be mad at big companies? They would never be able to get away with it if we all stuck together!! We are part of the problem!! That's the difference between rich people and poor people. Rich people stick together to stay rich . But Poor people just complain!!
LyfT said 70% but my passenger paid 10.75 and I get 4$ so that's still less than 40% :D where are the 70 I didn't see it I didn't see also the 33$ an hour sound great but I get around 20$ even less
I agree, but we know that those who work with fraudulent accounts, and with more than one account, and who don't pay tax for that, will go to work normally, and in fact that is what is hindering their ability to earn as before. and I believe that Doordash will not do anything to improve, because that is good for them, even though they are fraudulent accounts that belong to someone else.
The numbers don't lie. It takes atleast 30% of pay to operate our vehicles. Then, 40% of pay to live on, paying bills, rent, car note, food and to take our family out for fun. Uber/Lyft expects for people who are the main money makers, to live off 30% while Uber/Lyft takes 70% and while Uber/Lyft, food delivery do 80-90% of the work. Please, white house and law makers, make this make sense. As soon as ANY gig company starts to take cut into your money, especially as high as 70%, drivers are now working for free. Again, as soon as ANY gig app starts to take a 70% cut and pay drivers less on mileage, travel time and wait time, YOU ARE NOW WORKING FOR FREE!! Uber and gig companies have found a evil way to make hard working Americans hoes on wheels with Dara being the pimp. Protest will help but you have to hit them hard! Protest in large numbers. Protesting in small numbers won't even scratch the surface of the main problem. Drivers will NEVER get heard if you protest once a year. It's going to take 10-15 times national protest with thousands in order for the people who we vote for into office to take notice. "I'm ready, are you?"
Even if the strike was successful, they’d just kick drivers off to shave labor costs. Pay attention to what’s happening to UPS drivers now that they got that pay increase. DD, forget it, they’re still not profitable. 🤦🏿♂️
Yup, and the Roadie app is basically the substitute for UPS drivers that got let go and severely underpay the new driver replacements on the Roadie platform
They’re doing funny shit with the acceptance rate. I’ll take 10 orders in a row and it not go up. Then when I refuse an order it drops 1-2%. The math ain’t mathing.
@@DeathstarsEGYea that’s true. Because if you accept one order and 1 accepted order from the past drops off of your 100 most recent orders, your acceptance rate stays the same.
First I am hearing about it. Nevertheless, I probably won't participate since it is really just icing on the cake. I have a regular 9-5 (actually a 23:00-0700). Actually I guess I will be participating. Just got to the part about the hours, 11:00-13:00. On Wednesdays, I hit the dinner rush from 18:00-22:30.
For all of those who are going on strike, please do because that means there will be less drivers on the road so I will make more money and all the better orders will come to me!! Because we all know DoorDash will not do anything about this. Please stay on strike as long as possible so I can make more money as I continue to work for DoorDash while you continue to hold off on it!! This will be very good for me!!
I hate the new rewards program. It’s total bs. I work every other week and part time so once I get the 100 I always drop so I can never maintain my gain. Total bs
Without an organized union, and a prolonged strike ( I mean this isn’t even the whole day, or all 50 states). Who is our representative in b this as well? Again, with a union there would be people that negotiate. This just seems like a pointless gesture
We can support the strike every day by not taking orders below $1.50/mile. We can also report illegal immigrants, or anyone, that use fake accounts to collect multiple orders.
I also heard 🚪dash customers do support the strike so less people will not make order. And if they do 4 cheapest and of course no tips. And customers will make ridiculous demands for their order and make hard on finding their drop off location and finally a deactivation review. I support U indi gig app drivers strike. As So Cal radio sports announcer Vic the brick Jacob says " Feeling You " 🚘 N 🐝 safe on the road.
Strike for what? This has gotten out of hand. As a man, I must say we have totally let down. We don't want to work hard anymore. I consider these jobs supplemental income!

This could possibly work but I don’t think it’ll make it this first time. This is the first time I’m hearing about this. I work tomorrow ❤ day and this weekend. If you were going to strike you need more advertisement of it. Reach all the drivers. If I wasn’t in CZcams I would if never known
Moore is definitely right but it’s time to get out the gig work
Exactly. Idk why everyone is fighting so hard to work for a company that acts this way.
Facts. It’s a good stepping stone if you absolutely can’t make money any other way but you’re basically doing charity work when you do gig work
Even after my best weekend of doing Door Dashing $340.12 in 11 hours, I guess I'm protesting while I'm working at my primary job on Valentines Day.
That's not even bad for gig work, what more do you want? I DD too and I would not mind doing it if I made this...
WHO are you blowing to make that amount in 11 hours? It takes me 25 hours to doordick to make $340
Uber is advertising $17 per hour in Houston during peak.
Screw acceptance rate. Soon I’ll be at 0% and dd still sends me good orders.
Lol we all low key going to keep right on working.
Yeah, yeah, everybody go on strike. I definitely won't go out! /s
Independent Contractors are not employees, and by definition are not "striking" if they refuse to work. Talk about DUMB!
You’re missing the concept. Aedin
It's quite simple. Stop taking orders that are not profitable or stop taking ANY orders at all. Stop worrying about the acceptance rate; they use this to get you to take BS orders. If each and every order isn't a transaction that is beneficial for ALL parties involved, it should be rejected.
Monday already started off with no orders! Now you all want me to not work on Wednesday?!😭😭😭😭
11:19 I imagine in some areas there will be more participation. I think perhaps in my state the only increase in business will be due to the holiday. As it is people out here don’t even know what the word union means. When I asked my last employer at the HR office they looked at me like I had three heads.
What changes are you looking for besides pay
just make it compulsory 20 percent commision the issuee is the term"tip" it is really a bid
5 years experience here
The numbers don't lie.
I'm just gonna stop using the gig apps lol
Even if the strike was successful, they’d just kick drivers off to shave labor costs. Pay attention to what’s happening to UPS drivers now that they got that pay increase. DD, forget it, they’re still not profitable. 🤦🏿♂️
Yup, and the Roadie app is basically the substitute for UPS drivers that got let go and severely underpay the new driver replacements on the Roadie platform
I’m with you guys
Now I see why the peak pay is back in my area yesterday and today. Today the peak pay is $2-$3.50 from 3:30pm-9pm
Nothing is going change if y’all keep doing the same thing
They’re doing funny shit with the acceptance rate. I’ll take 10 orders in a row and it not go up. Then when I refuse an order it drops 1-2%. The math ain’t mathing.
You gotta call. I called and complained when I noticed what you're talking about. DD fixed it. It was terrible when it was happening.
@@ociphress
Lol I did the same and Gandhi said it's the network/Algo and they can't fix that I believe it the system is rigged against the drivers
do you know how a rolling 100 works? Jesus, every time I see comments referring to acceptance rate not going up or down is cringe.
Correct
@@DeathstarsEGYea that’s true. Because if you accept one order and 1 accepted order from the past drops off of your 100 most recent orders, your acceptance rate stays the same.
I’m sure a lot of people will cross the picket line. 😂.
I’m ngl. I’m definitely dashing that day if everyone else is striking 😂
I call the FBI on doordash because of my recent deactivation over a false sexual assault
First I am hearing about it. Nevertheless, I probably won't participate since it is really just icing on the cake. I have a regular 9-5 (actually a 23:00-0700). Actually I guess I will be participating. Just got to the part about the hours, 11:00-13:00. On Wednesdays, I hit the dinner rush from 18:00-22:30.
i mean i have a 2% steady acceptance rate so what difference does it make the problem out here are these "Top Dashers"
How does that even make sense?
@@nsp932
Facts 💯😂
For all of those who are going on strike, please do because that means there will be less drivers on the road so I will make more money and all the better orders will come to me!! Because we all know DoorDash will not do anything about this. Please stay on strike as long as possible so I can make more money as I continue to work for DoorDash while you continue to hold off on it!! This will be very good for me!!
If door dash will pay my gas i will not cancel any more orders 😅😅
I lost 10% in acceptance rating tonight. $2.00 isn’t worth 10 miles round trip. I was at 29 percent at the end of January. I finished tonight at 12%.
Screw them. I dont care about ar rate anymore. Seems impossible in my area to keep it high. I only get one good order out 10
Start glitching. Thank me later
@@drewwhezzy What's glitching?
I hate the new rewards program. It’s total bs. I work every other week and part time so once I get the 100 I always drop so I can never maintain my gain. Total bs
You're on par with this video
.. Orlando an Miami 11 to 1 pm valentines day . Interesting to see on the news .. 🤔🌴
Moore takes 50 cent per total mile to and back to his zone. He normally doesnt even crack 25/hr. I would pay too much attention to what he says
11 to 1 pm. Is the slow time , thats why .. but they will log back on at lunch time .. 🤔
A one day lunch rush strike will do nothing. If you want to make a difference, save up enough money and strike for several days.
this job was only good in covid 19 time now become trash job doordash in texas send offer from 2 to 4 dollar only with a lot of miles
I have zero desire for w2 or to unionize. I spent eight years in a union. I don’t believe everyone should make the same wage.
Moore for President of the Dashers Union 2024
👀
I also heard 🚪dash customers do support the strike so less people will not make order. And if they do 4 cheapest and of course no tips. And customers will make ridiculous demands for their order and make hard on finding their drop off location and finally a deactivation review. I support U indi gig app drivers strike. As So Cal radio sports announcer Vic the brick Jacob says " Feeling You " 🚘 N 🐝 safe on the road.
Lets be real, no one is actually going to do this
Lyft stock up 50 plus percent right now
Acceptance rate might will be dropped off whole respect for driver's community from Dx tech support ❤ Doordash
Strike for what? This has gotten out of hand. As a man, I must say we have totally let down. We don't want to work hard anymore. I consider these jobs supplemental income!
Yah, but I thought we were done with that.
Jokes on you all. Went out on Valentine’s Day and walked away with $150 for 4 hours
Wednesdays are slow anyway .. last yr. On Valentine's I made 5 bucks .. not a good day .. in fact any holiday sucks for delivery ... 🤔
