@@WetAdek look for each military how many bolt action rifles have produced during ww2 and how many smg/lmg and you will see there were more then 10 manualy operated wepons for each automatic one. There were also very fiew semiautomatic wepons.

@@WetAdek They were not common. Pretty much exclusively used only by officers. They existed but they were not everywhere. The standard and most common weapon for all of the militaries minus the Americans was a bolt action rifle. The Americans being the only nation to have a semi-automatic as standard (nobody else did that even though they existed). The SMGs are in the game but not many get to use them. Like Germany had the STG which was revolutionary and really good battlefield weapon but only made 400k where as they made 14.6 million Karabiner 98k (The famous Gewehr 43 was made even less than the STG). They didn't make many of them because they didn't want to tie up production too much but at the same time they were okay making Tiger tanks and those were pieces of garbage... But anyway it was really only the US that understood that a bolt action rifle was out of date and they had the semi auto rifle but nobody else did this.

My Grandfather was a Royal Engineer Paratrooper who fought in Arnhem. He wouldn't talk about it much. I only know bits and pieces. There is a photograph in the loft. Him and his mate crept behind enemy lines and took a photograph of a group of German soldiers undercover of the trees, then crept back again. The guts they must have had to do something like that!

I'm liking PS more than Squad. In both games you need to have a good SL and a squad which follows him to have an enjoyable game. I usually switch servers if I dont find a section that's talking. It's really hard to spot enemies and with a bolt action you really have to choose your battles. If you have someone behind you they dont have a guaranteed kill if they miss the first shot with a bolt rifle. Once you learn how to spot enemies, shooting with the weapons, listen to the sounds, which weapons are shooting, which direction and checking your map the game becomes amazing. And playing the sapper hunting tanks and msp is so much fun. People complain about the spawn system but also I prefer this over Squad's. You just need to have an organized section that moves together and you can get the msp's pretty close if needed.

To everyone that gets into these games, don't be afraid to talk. Also follow orders. Learn the names of squad leaders that are good and stick with them when possible, you'll see them playing mostly on the same servers some times.

SMG's were only really used after D-Day in the invasion of Europe, so although the Sten's and mp40's would have been in use, they would have been mainly used by tank/vehicle crews in the battle of Arnhem.

A note on optimisation: it isn’t. A good way to get good FPS is by turning the settings up as it’s more optimised for gpu use than cpu use so increasing the settings will allocate more tasks to the gpu than the cpu. Ik it sounds backwards but give it a go

This is basically one of the best games of the past years. It needs understanding of its mechanics. And most of all: it needs teamwork! Beside that, it needs optimisation, because of it running a heavy engine. If the devs would come up with more features in the future, that server admins can activate/deactivate upon their choosing, it would be 100% top. As last, I would like to see waypoints in the 3d world (like for pointing out a given point marked to put down an msp). And a small map/GPS while driving the msp/vehicles would help. Now, one has to look on the goddamn map on and off all the time. Maybe even put map on 2nd monitor...? Also, some of the game mechanics and help features or RO2 series, like a tactical view would be welcome. But, very nice game. Loving it!

What concerns me most was that in 5:57 , he used a German KwK 40 gun to shoot a light vehicle , and yet it didn't die in one hit. Really hope that the devs would have a vehicle damage system like in War Thunder , if you engine is f***ed then you have to fix the engine manually , if you gun barrel is shot to pieces , you have to scuttle the tank or some how repair it , or if your track fell off , you need to go and fix it yourself. A Health system just doesn't make sense , it's like having an anti tank rifle shoot a person and he survives. Reto is making better vehicle gameplay for H&G which makes sense , but I really expected Post Scriptum to have a similar system

yo the community in this game is pretty fuckin ace, thats not to be understated at all. My very first time playing this game was like 45 minutes of running around not doing anything at all with my squad. then I broke off and went toward the action, met up with another squad and me and like 3 other people were playing cat and mouse trying to lure people out to kill them, all the while they were teaching me the ropes over local speak. You have a question about some trivial shit? nobody calls you a fag for not knowing how to open the halftrack's windscreen armor, they just tell you and point you in the best defensive position. Youll die a lot but nobody takes it out on you for being a fuckup. Revive someone as a medic? 90% of people say 'thanks doc', honestly this is a pretty wholesome game with good fun of death murder and ptsd. 8/10 would recommend.

Not really. RO2+RS1/2, though they have some teamwork elements, play completely differently. PS/Squad/PR are squad based shooters and require you to work and stick with your squad and listen to your SL. RO2 etc generally play like any other shooter as you spawn in and operate alone or with whoever happens to spawn with you while occasionally listening to the commander if you are lucky enough to get one with a mic. There is some squad play on the teams that allow squad spawning, but unlike PS etc you are not expected or required to have a mic.
Not shittalking RO/RS, I love this games. Just saying they are really not similar at all beyond WW2 and realistic shooter elements.

Good review, btw all the servers are run by communities that each have their own "dev" approved ruleset. Most communities have an admin on or watching the server from BM(with people reporting on their discord) whenever it's up. Most if not all the communities also play squad and have a server in the game aswell.

It’s pretty much Squad but in WW2 and that’s a great thing. Squad is the best war game I’ve ever played
