For me the best moment so far was Denton versus Cottan in the car. "Why won't you just take the money?!" "Because I'm a police officer!" Simple dialogue but surprisingly powerful.
Best British police drama of all time , Kate rocks ! That’s what I call a female role model , no victim mentality , gets on with the job without hating men ! You go girl !
Line of Duty really is incredible! Lindsey Dentons character is just so well written and acted, I was so sad that she died. I'm writing this a few hours after the series 6 ending, and it was disappointing to say the least, however hopefully there'll be a series 7 that does the whole show justice!
Corbett killing Hargreaves - series 5 Denton taking down Cole and Prasad - series 2 Counter terrorism shooting an innocent man - series 1 Ambush on police convoy - series 2 Hana nearly getting killed - series 4 Hijack on police convoy - series 5 Hastings's and Corbett's backhistories explained - series 5 Arnott and Corbett's standoff outside the posh flats - series 5 Maneet getting killed - series 5 Arnott tortured by the OCG - series 1 Kate smashing Gates' office - series 1 Dot's friend Nige finding out he's the Caddy - series 2 Jill Biggeloe being outed and almost killed - series 5 Kate telling the officer to stop making a tit of herself- series 5 Denton OWNING the team right before she was arrested - series 2 Hastings telling Biggeloe where to stick it - series 3 How come none of these were mentioned?
Dot and John Corbett too, and I also really liked Tony Gates,Nigel and Danny Waldron, they could appear more by being better than the protagonists ( like the majority, i'm not an Arnott fan)
@@willhay6148 the fifth season was amazing until the last episode it had ran out of steam by the point I’ve got no idea why it was an hour and a half episode
The death of Dot is easily the best episode and scene so far but I with Mojo shown the intire interrogation because the build up is amazing and so is the chase. Good video however 👍👍👍
40% of this list is the Thandie Newton series, goes to show how good of a series it is in terms of a police procedural. Series 3 was great, Dot's downfall was so well written, I wonder if series 6 will focus on Ryan as the new Caddy 🤔
I’m late to the party here in the US. I just binge-watched the first four seasons on Amazon Prime and the fifth season on Acorn TV. IMO, worth enough to buy a small cup of coffee at Starbucks or Peet’s, Line of Duty is one of the best crime dramas I’ve ever seen. Period. Full stop. End of story. Ranks right up there with Engrenages aka Spiral (France), The Wire (US), Luther (UK) et al.
@@Qatari2007 well yeah because at the start of the series we were lead to believe he unlawfully killed a suspect for no reason/something sinister without realising it was a child abuser
I think this was a great idea for a video but really missed the mark a lot in the "moments" shown, including definitely tilting too much toward the Huntley season, which I actually found to be the weakest of all of them. That's still great TV compared to a lot of other shows, but it's just not representative of the essence of this show's greatness or those truly great mojo moments within it that were supposed to be captured. For example, that whole stinking wound bit was a tired and unconvincing rehash of the fearless performance glamour puss Keeley Hawes gave, coming off maternity leave, no less, to do a Die-Hard style transformation in series 2, down to those burned hands that were far more disturbing than the silly MRSA story they used just to add ironic payback for the forensic tech's death. Then there was that shocking moment tied to Denton's break-out abduction, that saw her spring from a trunk, witness Cole's execution, and ram that car into Prasad that literally forces a "dying declaration" out of him that ensures he has to pay in some way for his vice misdeeds but doesn't make HER a murderer! Then there was that season 3 moment with the PO. Although I do generally like Thandie Newton's work, when it comes to those moments squeezing crooks and villains, DI Denton is Line of Duty's most effective nutcracker! Yet I also thought that season 2 had the series' best "quiet quake" moments, when a tectonic shift occurs but in a way that it's down to outstanding acting creating the devastating effects in a softer and more intimate exchange. That's what happens during Dryden's post-arrest interrogation. He starts out cocky and confident he's talking to AC-12 peons he's going to eat for breakfast, turning up the toned-down volume of his brogue as he taunts them with lines like, "You got the balls to charge me? Tick-tock." Then he's kind of busted on that traffic camera alibi thing, and the lesser-known actress playing the bit part of the lawyer who doesn't do more than whisper to her client as far as lines manages to say it all with her expression right then, projecting that SHE knows now she has a client who's going to need some kind of a defense even if HE hasn't quite gotten that yet. Finally that comes, with those blackmail and murder photos, and the brilliant Mark Bonnar ensures that viewers can see Dryden is somehow both flattened and stumbling around mumbling and tongue-tied like an accident victim with concussion--without ever leaving the chair! I'd also put the table-turning moment of the next episode up there on the also-ran list, as he does manage to get some of his own back with Lindsay and move forward that investigation for real when he decides to offer Hastings a "voluntary intelligence interview." Finally, I can't believe so little was in the list from the first groundbreaking season. I would have put the very first scene with Steve Arnott's counter-terrorism mission fiasco on the list as the 10th, and you just cannot leave out the Gates resolution from a proper spot. That last clear-headed but emotional exchange with Arnott is virtuoso acting on both sides, as Steve suddenly clocks what is about to happen, which is followed by Gates seeing him connect the dots and then underlining exactly with what Steve need concern himself in the aftermath, keeping guilt for the ending off that list and caring for the family the only item on it. Yet it is Gates picking his moment and the vehicle that would utterly cream him right before our eyes that delivers 1st-place features to the scene, especially as the denouement has Steve answering the question that what happened was "line of duty." How can THAT scene giving the series its title NOT be on the list?!?
So many excellent actors in this series! Inglesby , Graham , Mays , Dunbar and that's only scratching the surface .Not a huge fan of Compston tho. Had to edit how could I forget about James! Next to Graham and Dunbar he is one of my faves!
I really wish I could have seen season 5 already, but for some reason, none of our Norwegian broadcasters or stream platforms don't seem to buy the rights :'(. I don't have a VPN and cannot watch it on the BBC either. It is a brilliant series
But they have already died in the show...or they can make history series, the story of young Dot's early years in the Police force while he start the dirty jobs for Jimmy Hunter, etc
I thought it was Vicki and Matt? Not Rachel Walker and Matt???? I thought it was Georgina Leah and yo henry and not Martin Paul? It's confusing to me 🧐🤷🏻♀️🙏🙌
The greatest TV show of all times. The theme tune is equalled only by the original Dr Who theme. I have all the DVD sets and am about to binge on them once again over the holiday period.

I love that scene
It's pretty sad that nobody showed up for Lindsay's funeral

That was insane
Definately!
Mother of God, you haven't even mentioned Ted Hastings badass lines. God give me strength
Believe you me, there's a lot of em

Indeed he hasn't, indeed
Denton’s dissection of AC-12 in the interrogation room was epic.
The interviews and interrogation in this series were some of the best scenes I’ve ever seen in tv
Absolutely!!!!
I read this in his voice, to the LETTER!
Crabbit bastard police think they own the planet

Best moment for me was the interview under caution in s2e2 when Denton turned the tables on Hastings, Arnott and Fleming.
Yes same!!
All the moments. Every single moment. This series is amazing and I am in love with Vicky McClure.
My favourite is when Hastings talks down Bigalow with 'I will take you down with the rest of them!'
The interrogation scenes are soo authentic and atmospheric. This show is hands down one of the best series on bbc.

The UK is premiering Season 6 this month really soon on! 💃🏻💃🏻
Georgia's death shook me to my core. Seeing the fear and realization of imminent death in Georgia hit a nerve.
It's that horrible pause before the guy throws her too. Like he's stopping just to consider if it's worth killing her, then decides it is. Brutal.
I think we all knew urgent exit required was going to be number 1
The whole finale episode of season 5 was brilliant

Thanks for this list. This is a great series so much we need another list.
The first scene of the first episode should have made the cut.
Underrated series ...the way AC- 12 interrogate is amazing ..
The twist in the interrogation by Roz just blew my mind! Just the things she did to save her ass, pinning the murder on her own husband! Damn Roz.
Can safely say this show is by far the best thing I've ever seen on TV
Series 4 was my favorite. Roz was played really well by Thandwie Newton.
Yeah she made it a good series and it felt like a standalone story compared to the 1st 3 which are like one big series
