There was so much about this that really impressed me. Water physics and simulations, hair and soft body simulations, and just the camera angles and cinematography of the monsters were nearly perfect. They continued this into the new Godzilla Vs Kong movie too. It just shows how perfectly convincing CG can be in the right hands. Also when given the proper time and budget to do it correctly.
@@KINGAHM3N No, it's not super easy with the "tech they have nowadays". Hardware and software doesn't make art, the artist does. The difference is that it's just not extremely hard as it was before, that doesn't make it easy.
Apprently some people would rather take bad CGI at face value and generalize all VFX, instead of actually considering the amount of work that went into it. Bad CGI is usually due to time constraints anyways, but they act like there's no excuse. Fucking hell, seemingly all CGI haters are obnoxious and close-minded. I wish the whole debate over practical vs CGI could end.
@@sarahbelle81 exactly! If there is no deadline and they can work as they want, you can expect a very high quality cgi's. Also the budget should be in consideration.
I mean it’s actually super easy just get in a mocap suit do the movie fight scenes ect.. then get a gorilla or copy and paste one and then edit the gorilla to your desire it’s easy

And, to be honest, ILM is just as capable of CGI for animated characters as Weta, but the latter seems to get much more recognition for it. I guess because they created Lord of the Rings, still well deserved of course.

They didn't even talk about the WATER!! The CGI water sold the fight scenes and the physics and realism of the water just blew me away.
