Wish I would have seen this video sooner. I have a 2007 R6 with the same issue, I wouldnt hear the fuel pump prime up when trying to start it. It died on me while I was riding it and it would crank but not start. Finally got around to looking at it today and when I powered up the fuel pump, it ran. Only logical thing was to check the switch. Once I removed the switch from the handlebar I saw I got power to the pump. So I figured it was something internal in the switch, I'll be picking up a switch and now have to clean the fuel injectors since it was sitting for so long. Great video either way 👍🏼

hey, I’m looking at a 2016 r6 w/ a power commander and other stuff for $7k, it has 15k miles and hasn’t been rode in 3 months..would this be a good buy or do you think it has issues? Thanks!

I have a 2005 Yamaha R6 and I just change the starter relay assembly it’s OEM and the when I turn the key everything works the fuel pump I hear it but when I press the start button nothing happens not even clicks but when I bypass the relay like jumping the bike with a screwdriver it turns on normally I check all the sensors the kick stand sensor on the diagnostic and I don’t have any codes what could be the issue? Please!!
@@berto5045 hi and thanks for supporting me. The problem you have sounds familiar to me. I would start checking with a multimeter to make sure 12v are not at the end of the connector(in case you do, starter relay is the problem). Next thing, the clutch switch, just jump the connector and try to start it. If there is no luck just clean the contact where the starter button makes contact ( you need tho disassemble the kill switch to reach it). For better understanding what's going on, get a lamp tester to ensure energy and ground is going through the cables. Good luck and I hope this ideas help you to find the problem you're having
Bro, I have a 2002 R6, previously the starter button was normal but suddenly it wouldn't turn on when pressed.Usually if it doesn't turn on there will be a clicking sound but this is not the case at all, and when i press the starter button the speedometer light dims, is the problem the same as yours? What's in the starter dynamo?

I'm currently having the same problem with my 2000 YZF R6 right now but before this problem popped up I could turn it back on start. It being neutral Revit 8-10k no problem soon as I put it in the first gear takes out to about 4,000 rpms then splitters. Once they shut off put it in second gear about dies. Anyone have an idea of what's going on with my bike?
i have a 2019 r6, and i just encounter a no start issue. when i go to hit my kill switch i dont hear the fuel pump priming, only clicks. would this be the problem, my kill switch needs to be replaced?
i was in the process of flashing my ecu from a handheld device. before starting the process it would prime just fine and as well as during the process. but just about when it finished, i realized i didnt hear it prime anymore. and i go to start it and it wouldnt fire up.
Hey, hope you see this, have a 09 r6, fuel pump primes up, battery is good , all’s fuses are good and it turns over, but does not fire up. It was running yesterday, and today it just won’t start, tried boosting it as well but it just won’t start. Any idea ? Also I can start it without holding in the clutch
I just bought a crashed 07 yamaha r6 and it won't start. I did fuse check, tilt check and my pump engages when ignition switch on. The starter turns over but it won't start.

I have the same problem right now. When I press start it kills everything. The dash board lights dies too. Idk if that’s the same issue

You can test the kill switch plus supply a temp earth to make it work..

Does it throw a fault code?
If the tip over switch engages , how do u reset it ?
Take out the sensor and center the magnet.
If you don’t want that problem, fill it with silicone and let dry for a day.
Just shake the bike from side to side until the ball releases if it's stock
If I remember correctly you van just twist the two wires together and you don't have to worry about it anymore

My 07 R6 is running on only 2 cylinders. Any idea what the issue is?

Well, did you test how much voltage is going to the fuel pump connector?
