The shame is, the information is not spread for enough. Woman shot and killed by 2 year old son in the town next over because she didn't have the proper safety information.
problem is majority of people aren't equipped to be responsible gun owners
I´m from Brazil and the Americans doesn't understand how have a guns is important, when the robber now maybe you have a gun they will think twice before do something in Brazil Without legal guns 65.000 people died ever year because of Guns in Brazil, what it shows that if the good people doesn't have guns BAD people will buy illegal one, and de population will be sheep´s to robber and government. Brazil few years ago the guns was liberated and the crime was low after the government take out our rights the crime explode in Brazil! Don´t leave the government decide for you. IF you think is bad with the gun without will be worse! Believe

Mike did make a very valid point. Very few people know that AR just stands for Armalite.
NGL I always thought it meant Automatic Rifle
That's the name of the company who first started making them.
Thank you for clearing that up I hate when people just assume and never do any actual research
Actually it’s Armalite Rifle otherwise it would just be called an A:)

His posture was absolutely terrible though. That kinda hurt to watch. I was taught by my brother, a US Army Sergeant, about how to handle and fire a firearm. That was one of the best days of my life.
@@directorjames1855especially with the rifle, his arm was sticking so far out it was comical to me.

I used to be anti gun. Met a guy that ended up being my best friend. He was a "gun nut". We had several debates over the issue. He eventually convinced me to go shoot with him. I got scolded so many times for poor gun etiquette. It was embarrassing & made me never want to go with him again. In time I realized that I only got scolded because I was being dangerous. I learned that gun owners typically respect guns & their dangers more than anyone else. My stance has now changed. There are so many things in this world that can kill. Guns are the great equalizer. I now recommend everyone to have at least one gun & carry it whenever possible. You never know when evil will attempt to harm you. The most important thing is to train with these tools. If you don't they can harm you.
Now that I live out in the country I feel bad for my previous stance. Bear & cougar roam near my land. I'd never harm anything unless I had to defend my family or animals, but I'm glad I have the ability to defend them. If someone came out here meaning to do harm, it would take at least 10 minutes for a police response. I need a gun for protection of my family in that case. Now I own several guns & see the necessity of being able to defend yourself. Without guns someone could come up here & put us thru hell. Even if I could get a call off to police, that response time means we could be dead & they'd be gone before help arrived.
Now I know my anti gun stance was based out of ignorance, which is a hard pill to swallow. I just wish more people would take the time to learn the importance of the 2nd ammendment.
My strongest opinion is to learn. Once you become a victim, you realize how important it is to own. Especially when law enforcement doesn't arrive for 15-45 minutes. The first time for me was the last. Also helps if you study your family tree and you descend from patriots. Compare your life and age to theirs and imagine how bad it was under British rule that they risked treason.
soz mate to offend uou buy i cba to read all of that😂🤣, much love tho❤🎉
in alot of cases now in the cities the response time is much greater and just going to leak out into the urban areas not to mention your dog most likely getting shot and you being made out to be the aggressor.
Lighting off fireworks on the 4th should also be a legal requirement. It's good for the soul.
@@notezz162 Sorry for your short attention span - take care
"The lack of personal responsibility is the problem, not guns"
YES MA'AM
Amen
Sure thing. But "lack of personal responsibility" is something you can not take away from people. Guns are. So the reasoning is not valid. "If they dont use a gun, they will use something else" is also a false statement. Data shows that you are less likely to smash someones head in with a hammer than you are to kill someone with a gun at a distance. It takes more to shiv someone than to shoot someone. That being said, I am PRO guns and a gun owner myself. The problem is not weather you are allowed to own guns or not, but the ease of how you get them. In some places there are background checks. Elsewhere there are not.
I am sad that I can't own a .50 BMG Machine Gun, but I am pretty effin' happy that my neighbour can't either.
so the murder rate in the USA is 4x higher than the UK because you guys are 4x less responsible? good to know it's not the guns

@@dannymoralyUnless you learn the technique to use yout thumb in handtohand combat, its quite terrifying
I think its scary that so many have such a strong opinion on the topic without actually knowing much about it. Just like mike said the people in washington proved his point
Yeah. You cannot own a fully auto weapon unless you are a very special person or a super criminal. In public shootings, a fully auto gun is almost never used. And the “AR” in AR15 stands for Armalite Rifle, the og maker of it. Not Assault rifle. And you do have to get a background check for a gun, but it is true some places don’t. We should have guns, but we need to find a way to stop all of the mass shootings.
This. These noobs think an AR means automatic rifle ffs.
I kinda agree with karen
I’m a 5’4 127 pound woman who owns two AR15 rifles and i absolutely love them. I used to be an anti gunner until a family friend and his 88 year old mother were broken into and she was assaulted by the offender. I chose to be responsible for my own safety and never put my trust in someone else when seconds count and they are minutes away.
Now THIS is reporting and journalism. Not once did Tyler inject his own views or opinions into the video or onto the people he was talking to, nor is he looking to argue. He's asking questions and letting people speak and be heard. We need more of this and far, far less "news" hosts telling us what to think and how to feel.
@@NA-pl4vi It wasn't a gun expert, it was a gun enthusiast. But you're right, he should have spoken to a tyranny enthusiast to get the other side.

So would you agree that it should be a choice? If one wants to be responsible and own a firearm they can. If one chooses not to, they can choose not to.
But it is a constitutional right. So it can’t be taken away per the rights of the republic. As long as everyone agrees. I’m good with that. But the moment someone says, no you can’t do that even though it’s your right. Yea that’s not good.
For the dude who shot up Buffalo, if memory serves me right, he specifically chose that area because he knew no one would be armed due to the large number of gun restrictions in New York. Most mass shootings happen in areas where people won't be armed, one dude walked into a church in texas to shoot it up and he was dead in 2 seconds, he killed 2 people but was dead in under 2 seconds.
Exactly. Most of these mass shootings are in states with the strictest gun laws. You don't hear about mass shootings in Maine, New Hampshire, Wyoming, etc. Somebody better have immense skill and God on their side if their willing to commit a mass shooting in those states.😂
@@walter9243 what about that school in Texas

As a 2A advocate, thank you for at least keeping an open mind involving this stuff! It goes a long way, even if I did have a good chuckle at your grip and stance while firing 🤭
The store owner nailed it. THE LACK OF PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Yeah, and how are you going to regulate that?
Two parent families, mental health issue avoidance programs (most mental health issues aren’t a problem if there aren’t aggravating factors) and a happy and stable country. A lot of these people are unhappy because of the government not assuring its’ people that things are being done, and that is what gives them fear and hate. My great grampas friend brought a .22 to school so he could shoot ‘rabbits and such’ on the walk home. The teacher took it, and beat his ass. He then went home, got his ass beat by his mom and then his dad came by the next day and took it back home. And his friend was able to shoot his first deer that same year because he learned his lesson and moved on No one even cared to take note. It’s our society of fear and hopelessness that’s the issue.
I see what you did there.
Its also the fact we fetishize guns and have more guns than people. Its not just "personal responsibility" he only says that because hes obsessed with hoarding guns and doesn't want anyone to criticize his hobby.
@@drhexagonapus the store owner was a lady
I love Mike he represents proper gun safety. The man love and respects his guns, keeps most dangerous ones stored, and also tells people if you have kids you must lock the guns off. I love this! Former resident of Kennesaw and former member of Gov's Gun Club. Like its said, no one inforces the law. But its a good law to follow considering some fairly dangerous areas nearby, and the fact that the crime branches out. A few months ago, there was, at a very nice golf course, very close to the areas he was in, a double homicide. This involved a cartel agent assisinating someone who was an issue one evening on the golf course. A worker happened to be near and investigated. This resulted in the worker then being killed as well.
The 2A one of the most important amendments of the US constitutional republic. Our 2A rights protect us against Governmental overreach. We’ve far surpassed that long ago. “We must protect our democracy” means say goodbye to our CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC and all of our rights that go with it.
Be safe. Be reasonable. Be knowledgeable.
As a firearms enthusiast, I just wanted to thank you for covering these issues in an objective manner. Most journalists take the route of "it scares me so you shouldn't be able to own it". But unlike them, you actually put effort into this video.
Yeah, even though he knows nothing about firearms or how they work it’s good he did this.
As a firearms enthusiast, how many guns have you sold to a pawn shop or otherwise? Please be honest. I think enthusiasts who constantly sell and buy new guns are the reason they are so easy to get on the black market. Limits and tracking would go a long way, but gun manufacturers and enthusiasts will never make the sacrifice.
i think the reason the news says this is bc news is owned by the billionaires and the government and they want fear so that citizen are disarmed and the government and corporations have a monopoly on violence making the citizens powerless

Full auto machine guns used to be available at hardware stores before 1986. We have to look into what changed in our society to solve this problem. I promise you I will always have guns.
I’m not a gun nut. I’ve shot guns before, but I’m not crazy about them. Thank you for this video. I needed that laugh today from the people you interviewed.
I grew up in kennesaw and Marietta. That ordnance was passed in 1994 and was an answer to Clinton’s “aw” ban. The law was designed for home defense against break ins and it does work. I don't think legalizing drugs in Kennesaw would cause a problem either.
There isn't a predictable formula There are so many variables. . It's too bad . What works somewhere doesn't. always work somewhere else. What isn't working in Vancouver worked very well in Portugal . Comparing guns to drugs , many people believe there are parallels, that if you limit exposure you limit use. If there are no accessible drugs no one will use. If you cant get a gun, it's harder to shoot someone. Proponents of gun laws compare The UK to the US. Guns aren't readily available compared to US .. Shootings are relatively much lower . Yet, they desperately want to disarm LAW ABIDING citizens, and they want to criminalize self defense! Also Mike: *Shows Tyler all 200,000 of his guns*
TBF, once you get into the hobby you tend to accumulate at least one gun a year, plus your father's guns when he passes. So that guy is about 60 years old and he's had 40 years to acquire them. So it's really not that shocking.
Asking how many guns you have is a very personal question. Hearing it can set off red flags in your head along the lines of, “why is this question being asked?” “Is this a fed trying to entrap me?”, and is this someone casing me for nefarious reasons?” Answering in a vague or non commital manner is the safest response.
@hismagnificence7078
Honestly, whenever I'm asked, I'll just say "a few" and list like, my vector, my handgun, and 2 of my .22s even though I have 10 other guns, cause even neutral people get weirded out of you say too many
I love how the people who say "it's too easy to get a gun" have almost invariably never tried to get a gun.
but it is easy. When i bought my 1st gun last year it was a Glock 45 i went into a farm store that sells a rang of guns and in 10 mins i walked out with one. Then i bought a bullpup shotgun with 2 5 round mags. same thing walked in and in 10min walked out. I live in Texas so that might be the reason.
I agree. I literally have no issues with people having guns. Any guns. But why are states so against more screenings, waiting periods, maybe even mandatory training. You can have all that and still honour the second amendment. As the gun guy in this video, Mike said a lot of the gun violence has to do with mental illness and pharmaceutical drugs, which I agree, but then why not make a law that people who are on these drugs can’t own guns? I also don’t think the whole “ if people can’t buy guns legally they’ll just do it illegally” is not a good enough argument since most mass shooters are not carrying out their shootings with illegal weapons. People are lazy and the harder you make it to own a gun the easier it is for them to give up and not have one. I personally don’t think that mentally ill shooters have the patience to wait for a gun or take training or even try to get a gun illegally since many of these types are shy and without connections. If you think I’m wrong, let me know. I’m all about learning and taking in different perspectives.
@@zingzing9848 Simple, you are legal and the system to run backgrounds checks is quite efficient. There is not reason the process should not be quick for someone who is legal.
@@andrewdishman335 Rights don't work that way. You don't add a bunch of conditions for rights otherwise they are not a right.
@@NickFrom1228 , again how are making conditions around those rights take away the rights? It’s like before the constitution there were no cars but when vehicles were invented there were rules implemented around owning and driving one nobody piped up and said the these rules around keeping people safe go against our constitutional rights.
The ordinance was passed in 1982: "(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore. (b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony."
A similar law was passed in 2000 in the city of Virgin, Utah, making it the second city in the United States to require residents to own guns. Nelson, Nucla, Colorado, and Gun Barrel City, Texas also followed suit.
I think that the issue we have right now is a combination of the media and Mental health. Why shootings are happening is because of poor mental health and people either not seeking help, or not wanting to. What also makes this worse is that the media always talk about the shooter and their motives, and gives them all the fame. Sometimes even more than the victims. We should not even mention the shooter's name or even motives to help prevent these events, and I'm sure that we can come up with a solution for this problem as soon as America is ready to tackle this issue without taking civilian's firearms. I personally love guns and I have grown up around them, but we need to do more than blame the tool, but hold the people accountable.
Edit: I've never been able to express my thoughts about this topic and be heard. Thanks y'all.
Agree. Abolish the FBI
That's right, if you get rid of guns the tools used to do crimes will simply change. The problem will always be there if you take away the tools instead of fixing the people.
@@juanbermudez1321abolish the CIA
absolutely this. It's a societal, and mental health issue 100%, especially if you look back on the types of guns we've had access to as a society in the past, compared to school shootings. According to wikipedia, there wasn't a real mass school shooting until the 70s at the earliest, with the vast majority of the labeled school shootings being targeted incidences, or disputes, not indiscriminate murder, which is still not great, but is a far cry from the type of shit going on today. Regardless, indiscriminate killing doesn't seem to pop up until 1966, with the Rose Mar Beauty College shooting. Essentially what I'm saying is, guns are not the problem. People are. Even if guns were banned entirely, there would still be mass killings in schools and other institutions, just via different methods. anyways thats just my opinion as a gun owner.
Says while living in the country with second highest rate of gun violence. If the things you were referring to were factual there would be the same situation in Europe while having hand guns and ARs banned.

If politicians can have armed security for self defense then its only natural for citizens to have that same right
I get where you are coming from but this argument, but it wouldn't stand up in an actual debate considering politicians are hated by half of the country no matter what side you are on so they need protection from assassination's. Your average joe doesn't get thousands of death threats a day.

Just an add-on tidbit regarding the AR (Armalite Rifle); it was originally designed in 1959 and intended for civilians use. Wasn't until Colt bought the patent that it got turned into a military rifle in the form of the M16. The more you know
Common misconception.
AR are actually just the two first letters in Armalite.
You do know, that they also made Handguns, right.
Apart from this, the rest checks out, as far as I know.
If you go on Armalite's website, as well as a plethora of other sources, you'll see that this is not accurate. Armalite originally designed the AR-10 with the help of military specialists to use the 7.62 cartridge, intended for military trials. They entered the trials late, weren't selected, but were encouraged by the military to make a smaller caliber lighter gun that could hold more ammunition for infantrymen. That rifle eventually became known as the AR-15, which was once again entered in military trials, but once again failed to the m14. Armalite did end up selling a small quantity on the civillian market after their rejection but was ultimately picked up by the military. However, Armalite lacked the production scale to manufacture the guns for the US military and as a result sold the design to colt, who ended up renaming it the m16. So the AR-15 was never, at any point, designed with civilians in mind. I don't say this to make a political statement regarding gun control, merely to encourage you to properly research before asserting false statements online.
Every society is different. Brazil will have to solve Brazil's problems Brazil's way. But one thing is certain, and it's proven everywhere: if firearms are outlawed, the law abiding will not have firearms but criminals will still have them. There are ways to counteract this, by very severely punishing the criminal use of firearms, but if this is done then there's little reason to disarm the law abiding.

At one time, it was legal for a 12 year old student to bring a .22 rifle to school so long as it was unloaded and kept under the desk. When I was in school, pocketknives were allowed so long as the blade was under 4". Now, students are arrested if they draw a picture of a gun or knife and shootings are worse now. I don't think bans are having the effect people are hoping for.
If we keep going this way, they'll be removing kids' thumbnails!
When I was in Jr. High in the early 80's there was a Rifle Club. Students kept their guns in their lockers during class. There was never a problem. I really don't see the big deal. To this day we still see plenty of 12+ year old kids walking our road carrying deer rifles on the 1st day of Buck Season. I can remember at the time my dad wouldn't let me leave the house without a lighter and a Swiss Army Knife. "You never know when you might need those" is what he said. Still carry them to this day.
FWIW Kids with a shouldered rifle dressed in blaze orange (ie: hunters) is still a very popular Halloween costume around here.

Yea, i recently came back from America left from London and went to Mississippi and Louisiana, did a few gun ranges indoors and out, both times there was always someone that would tell me how to hold the pistol properly and how to stand with the rifle and take breaks from shooting while still holding it. ended up shooting a few glocks, Canik, Ars and bolt actions. What do u think will happen if u fight the police ? And by killing a criminal, u become yourself a criminal ! Man, u yanks r fucking obsessed with your second amendment.
2A was not ratified to take out the government...your government, but it was insisted upon by the People and the States before they would ratify the US Constitution. Notice it is not in the Constitution...but added....so the original George Washington convention didn't think it was necessary.
2A is worded as a chicken and egg proposition. The Militia is needed to defend The Republic (and all parts of the Republic such as your nation, state, county, town, home or person) so...The People must be able to own and bear their own arms....to be able to act as a proper militia in times of need.
The Declaration of Independence is the document that talks about the legal obligation to be able to take up arms against the sitting government if that government is counter to the well being of The People...such as they claimed the Royal Governors national guards and UK Regulars were in 1776.
So my advice to 2A proponents is to not lead off your debate with possibly shooting the government. That only makes your anti gun audience even more dead set against you. Start off with the positives of such arms in peace or in times of foreign or terrorist attack. Bring up the people of Israel last month or of Ukraine in 21...those unarmed with only an ability to run or be killed...vs....those ready to slow down Putin or Hamas on day 1.
The day the second amendment gets taken away is the day all hell breaks loose, a large majority of the people that are for gun control are just following the crowd and have no clue what they're even talking about. That being said, I love how unbiased this video is, and I do see the points of both sides
I mean it’s impossible for them to even take are guns because the US government is already more shit then it has already been
“All hell” is a funny way of spelling “civil war”. Gun owners in America are too radical, heavily armed, and anti-government for there to be any other outcome.

As a non American, but a gun owner, this is a really fascinating look into things in the US.
Banning guns isn't the right move, and sets a really dangerous precedent. At the same time, I had to prove I was trained and sane to get a firearm license, and I can't imagine guns being sold to people who can't prove they're both.
That guy's hidden compartments were some of the coolest things I've ever seen, but I also can't fathom feeling a need to keep guns hidden around my house.
All that said, I've lived somewhere exceptionally safe my whole life, I know that my own firearms could be used in home defense, but the thought of ever needing to is so far from my reality that I can't judge people who live in different circumstances.
non american here. the more i look in to 3d printing, the more im coming to understand that 3d printing has made the gun control and gun ban debate obsolete. we live in the era of 3d printed full auto rifles and 3d printed ordinance. These firearms are here to stay and we're going to have to live with them
As a Candian, I was baffled to find out there wasnt mandated training prior to purchase in the US. Particularly for something like handguns, that are multitudes easier for someone to negligently hurt themself with than a long barrel gun.
As an American who owns a firearm and has in keen interest in them and the law surrounding them I am curious, if you don't mind me asking, how did they make you prove you were trained and sane? Also you had to prove you were trained prior, how did you receive your training and what was it actually made up of?
@@Dash62g I am an American, who was raised around firearms, I can definitely see your point. However the reason it's not federally mandated is it could be argued as a violation of the 2nd amendment. Also some states, like mine, require training before receiving your concealed carry permit. While I do full heartedly agree any firearm owner must get some form of training in, be it commercially available or just you going to the range and figuring it out (preferably commercially available), I am hesitant to make it a government mandated thing at the same time because they tend to fuck up everything they touch. Also if it's a government mandated training from a government facility they can set the price and can easily make it high and force people to not attend due to not being able to afford the training. They can then also argue that everyone has the ability own a firearm so it's not a violation of the 2nd amendment but is a "soft" ban at the same time.
@@aaronh.1315 for sanity part they check your police and medical records to make sure you don't have any history of violent crime, or health conditions that could pose a safety risk (psychological disorders or things like seizures/narcolepsy). You also need to prove you have a safe or locker to store your firearms in when not in use, or else that you're keeping them at a range.
The training course is done in person, they walk you through like ... care, storage, responsible use different ammo types and compatibility. Basic operation like how a lever action works, where a safety is and what it does, how to handle a jammed bolt safely, that sort of thing. The whole thing takes about 8 hours, and then there's a written and practical test. None of it is particularly difficult or intense, the biggest purpose I've found is to weed out the people who want to buy a gun on a whim, or who aren't responsible or patient enough to actually sign up for and do the course.
That, and people say moving to the country for the first time at 50, never handled a gun, and decide to go hunting. It's just valuable for them to get instruction from someone who knows what they're doing. Before the training mandates were in place you'd get at least one story a year of some idiot blowing his head off because he didn't know better than to stare down the barrel trying to figure out what to do with a jam.
As a Brazilian, gun violance is really common, like really normal to see and even to be a victim, and It's mostly, like 90% by ilegal owners. The access to a firearm if you're not a cop is mostly restricted to tha shooting range, if you got the license to own (not to carry) a gun. We usually can't own, and we definitly can't carry it (unless in the case od a cop or military) and still we face so much gun violance by the hands of ilegal owners (criminals).
Do nto forget.. JUDGES are exempt from gun control laws. So they forbid us from defending ourselves, but they all can and do carry guns usually.
It's the SAME in my country. It's EXTREMELY difficult to acquire a legal firearm & when you're almost close to getting it, if the Commisioner of Police REFUSES to sign the sheet & you refuse to pay police officers $40,000 TTD = ($5300 USD) BRIBE, your chance of getting it is almost impossible.....We also have the issue with criminals running rampant. They are literally running around with AR-15 & other high powered firearms when it's delivered by the shiploads here. Coast Guard services are corrupt so anything can pass through our boarders with ease.
Pray y'all overthrow your tyrant.
It would be interesting to see what the demographics of the people who are shot and killed the most in Brazil is like
Yea that’s like Chicago here. Living in the city they made is so difficult to get a gun yet everyone and their mom owns a gun illegally 😂. Gotta love those “tough gun laws” that do nothing for the publics safety.
With China, South American countries, African countries, Asian countries, etc, coming across our border unchecked and unvetted, not owning a firearm is nuts.
You are gonna need one.
It's a violation of your rights. It's like making it illegal to not vote. You can't make not exercising your rights a crime.
5:34 You don't wanna lean back when you're shooting you wanna lean forward because when you're shooting there's a bit of recoil and when you're shooting and you're not leaning forward then the gun can fall off your hands which can either harm you or others.
You can always tell someone isn't used to shooting when they lean back like that. I think it's partly because they are scared of the gun, and instinctively lean away from it.
That's exactly what I was saying when I seen it. I instantly thought, man I would have stopped him and corrected him on his stance. Either that or handed him a rifle with some good recoil and let him learn a lesson the hard way because I'm a asshole and proud and that's something we assholes do.
@@theRPGmasteror they think they have to lean back to counter react the weight of the gun wanting to drop forward. Good thing it didn't have a scope because I could see him easily placing his eye right up against the scope which would have resulted in a black ring eye.
