- While fame and fortune may be the goal for many, there are a select group of celebrities who decided that it simply wasn't a life for them. We're going to go over these 11 celebs who gave up fame to work normal jobs, so we can understand why someone might want to ditch Hollywood and become celebrities who now work normal jobs.
This is, Celebrities Who Gave Up Fame To Work A Normal Job
Thank you guys for watching, like and sub if you enjoyed, SunnyV2

Hayden’s decision to leave behind the lavish life that being a Star Wars main character provides to live in humility and nurture the earth is the most based thing I’ve ever seen
He chose the light side
he’s literally in Ashoka tho 💀
True
I think he does cameos every now and then for star wars- correct me if i am wrong tho
Its way better to live a life in peace and comfort by nature's side than to be followed and flashed with cameras in the urban City. His passion saved him from too much of chaos.
People don’t know how awful sometimes it is to be famous.
Fame sucks, paparazzis are hell to deal with.
Fr
Also people just assume that being famous makes your life easy but that's not the case if you're not quite rich. Being famous and poor is possibly the worst thing in the world
Especially the Disney and Nick child stars. Even the boys aren’t safe from the pedos
yall typing as if yall can relate 💀
Man seeing Hayden becoming a man of the land and choosing to be self taught in agriculture is absolutely phenomenal. Man I have a million times more respect for him now than ever. Bravo Vader!

When you think about it, that's the way Anakin probably would have preferred to go.
but farming.. really? A man of your talents?

I totally agree. Being an older guy at the age of 56, I didn’t know who she was, but after seeing this, I am so happy to see young actors transitioning from child stars to productive and humble people in the real world of work and dedication to the things that moved them in some way.
I did volunteer work at a large children’s hospital in Texas and I have incredible respect for the nurses and doctors who work with those children. I was at that hospital three evenings a week and I read to them, talked to patients and parents, played therapeutic games with the children, played card and dice games with the smaller children to help sharpen their math skills as many of them were doing school work while in the hospital, and so many other things. I saw so much misery and suffering that those children went through, but they always had a smile on their face and actually cheered me up with their sweet disposition and smiles. I would walk out of there in tears at the end of every evening I was there. It was always welled up in me and I held it in until I was leaving. Sometimes I would just sit in my car in the parking garage and cry for a bit because of seeing so many children with every kind of disease and injury and it just broke my heart every time when I was there. It definitely made me hug my own kids a bit tighter and be so thankful that they were healthy and are healthy as adults now.
So I said all of that to say that I just don’t know how the nurses and doctors in children’s hospitals do what they do day-in and day-out. I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for them. So for this former child star to do what she dies now definitely makes me have that level of respect for her. I’ve seen the darker side of what these nurses and doctors have to witness and endure and they have nerves of steel and can stay focused in situations that most of us would crumble. I just don’t know how they do it.
Bean's story was so wholesome. When the video stated that both of his parents died of cancer, I felt a tinge of sadness in my heart. The fact that, despite his failure to stay in show business, he went on to spread joy during the holidays in order to honour his father's love for Christmas. That is such a beautiful story arc.
Thats beautiful but really really sad 🥲
Interestingly enough he and Jennifer Stone are working for the same Podcast Network created by Christy Carlson Romano, Stone co-hosts a Wizards of Waverly Place podcast while Lawrence co-hosts with Romano one about Even Stevens.
Met him a few times at my old job. Absolutely the nicest person you could ever hope to meet.
Beans is probably NOT happy that he was dealt this hand. Even the first guy I bet on most days they regret working regular jobs. Who does not want a million dollar pay check 🤷🏽♀️
@@tmcurly You don't need a million dollars to have a good life. Stop being materialistic.
*Honorable Mention:* Rick Moranis
After staring in classics like Ghostbusters, Spaceballs, and Little Shop of Horrors, Moranis decided to leave Hollywood behind to be a better father for his kids after his wife passed away.
That right there is dedication to family.
He did the right thing
Hey, all those movies are blockbuster success. He made a big chunk of money and now retired to be with his kids. I’d say that’s a life well lived.

Hayden also got a ton of abuse from Star Wars fans and the press. While the prequels had awful writing and acting, that was entirely the fault of Lucas who botched the script and directing.
Hayden was actually a great Anakin, and did the best he could with what was given to him.
Recently at a Star Wars celebration, Hayden was moved to tears after an entire arena of fans cheered him on. While the prequels are still genuinely bad films, most fans now recognize the hard work the actors put in. And many now see Hayden as a great part of the Star Wars legacy that deserved better.
So at least he seemed to get a happy ending. He was literally speechless after getting such a huge response from everyone. Shocked that people actually liked him. It was nice to see.
Just imagine how he felt. After being treated like crap for so long, he was finally shown that fans loved him, crummy acting or not. That’s just beautiful.
Prequels were excellent, especially "Revenge of the Sith". I love the politics/plot in that one.
I really don't understand the hate he got. Only way I can explain it is that the world was just different back then; people tend to hate the actors much more (same goes for the Joeffrey's actor in GoT for example).
I always loved Hayden's portrayal of Anakin. His turning to the dark side is just clearly seen in his eyes. Yes, some of his lines might be bad, but that's not his fault. Also the Duel of Fates has the best fighting choreography ever.
@@KanKazable yeah stars wars fans were spoiled during the prequel era how much star wars content we got funnily enough it took Disney star wars to realize how much the prequels matter
Star war fans are so toxic.
I actually found this video kind of heartwarming. It's nice to hear most of these guys seem to be doing well for themselves. While their jobs may not be the most glamorous, they seem to be enjoying their life away from stardom and cudos to them :3

the incredibly sad thing about some celebrities is, some of them get fame and money so easily, that they feel obligated to work a normal job just to feel like a normal human.

Damn, kudos to Hayden. Played one of the most iconic characters of the 21st century, stepped back from fame, used the money to buy some land and start a farm for himself and his community. I would love to have done that. And it's also great to see that folks have embraced him as Anakin after all of the hate he got when those movies came out.
Vanilla Ice didn't want to give up on his musical career but his manager screwed him over so hard he never recovered 😢
Hayden Christiansen still appears in occasional movies, and obviously the recent Obi Wan show. He also likes to drop in at Star Wars conventions and the occasional comic con. Met him once, he is so chill. I think giving up the fame helps him seem so down to earth. We ended up talking about dirt and tractors for a half hour, even tho I was a huge Star Wars nerd lol
He’s an admirable dude fr
As well as Asoka, even in his appearance in the Clone Wars
I think my favorite actor turned normal person was Jeff Cohen, the guy who played chunk in The Goonies. He became a lawyer, and he negotiated Ke Huy Quan's contract for everything, everywhere, all at once for him. That's why he publicly thanked him at his acceptance speech ceremony

FYI - Carrie's interview at comic con was done by Kevin Smith not Kevin James. It's funny because in the Jay & Silent Bob reboot movie they actually kept calling him Kevin James as a running joke throughout the movie. Love ur vids, sunnyv2!!

I wonder what else he gets wrong?
After playing Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle, Frankie Muniz decided to pursue a career in auto racing. He almost got into IndyCar in 2011, but he was injured in a crash in 2010 and the deal fell through. Recently, he returned to racing and is now in the ARCA Series, which is a minor league for NASCAR. He's currently second in the points standings.
Hayden becoming a farmer is such a cool career progression. Maybe it's just me who admire farmers more than actors but hats off to him.
Hayden really made some solid life decisions, he's living the life he wants to and meanwhile his role as Anakin keeps him relevant enough to be part of the new Disney shows.
Major kudos to the ones who escaped the toxic, self-destructive world of Hollywood to do what they enjoyed or help others. It's honestly the best outcome you could hope for for a child actor.
It's literally a prison in there, HOWEVER the next story highlights that even after escaping Hollywood you can find your self in a toxic situation like sending nudes to strangers for money
Ron Howard seemed to do OK.
Yeah it’s Jew or get jewed in hollywood

Shame about Hayden Christensen since he absolutely knew how to act. Whenever he had to visually convey how Anakin felt without words, the man absolutely nails it.
He was totally held back by that hack George Lucas. Lucas is good at world building and lore but terrible at most everything else
If it makes anyone feel better, he's getting so much love nowadays. He's actually going to appear in "Ahsoka" in some sort of way, and has appeared in the Kenobi show.
Regardless, I'm glad he's getting some the recognition he always deserved and some cash to go along side.
@@hamstey1603if it’s a Disney plus show that uses the volume nowadays then it’ll suck. It’s a shame
Agreed. His acting was great in non-Star Wars Films, such as Life as a House, Jumper and the TV Series Higher Ground (Enormous Irony)
He had the acting prowess of a tree stump. He absolutely made the proper decision.
Why is the background track so ominous when these are very positive stories? I'm truly happy for all of them.

The fact that Hayden came back very briefly to play Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan show just demonstrates how much love he had for his character in Star Wars
Good to hear these “where are they now” stories where people are making an honest living and not turning to crime or drugs as so many of these types of videos go!
Rick Moranis is also a story, HUGE in the 80s and 90s, then to step out the spotlight after his wife passed away to be with his kids more.
Saw Hayden Christensen at Star Wars Celebration in London a few months ago. He was getting a lot of love and praise from everyone to the point where he started tearing up a bit. Enjoyed seeing him come back as Vader in the Kenobi show and really looking forward to seeing him in Ahsoka, even if its just a brief cameo. Glad to see that he's still happy to come back to Star Wars.

Thank you, Sunny, for a wholesome video rather than a depressing one
Mad respect to the former actors who knew deep down it wasnt for them.
Peter Ostrum is a pretty cool guy. He came to my middle school’s rendition of Willy Wonka and he told us about how he goes to farms to help the animals. Even got his autograph!

It’s nice to know now on the persuit to working as an actor overseas there is nothing wrong with working a ‘normal’ job
I couldn’t imagine how embarrassing it would be to start to go bald at 14
Peter Ostrum definitely dodged a bullet and has such a great story. He’s thankful he had the opportunity to play Charlie but forged ahead on his own path and became successful and a real asset to the world through his veterinary career. He avoided the spotlight for many years while he pursued his veterinary career but has been making occasional appearances at conventions and other events in the last 20 years or so mainly out of the goodness of his heart to thank fans of the movie. Just seems like a down-to-earth guy. Funnily enough, a friend of mine saw an interview with Ostrum wearing a green jacket and sporting a mustache and showed me and a couple other friends and a couple months later dressed the exact same way for a Halloween party. Probably the only person to ever dress as an adult Peter Ostrum at Halloween…
I agree. Most child stars end up going down a dark path trying to maintain their fame and celebrity status. Macaulay Culkin is good example. Peter forging his own future was a good move
This summer we sold a kayak to someone that works at his vet office he retired from there but is still working with farm animals. They are our emergency vet.

Vanilla Ice came back to the world of media this year, playing as Hielo in Crime Boss rockay city, a payday type game, and he's one of the enemy gang leaders. He's also getting a DLC campaign sometime this year, along with Dollar Dragon played by Danny Trejo, and The Sheriff played by Chuck Norris.
Loved Hayden's acting in Star Wars, especially when he didn't speak. The scenes where he shed tears in Revenge of the Sith speak loudest than words.
And he did come back for another Star Wars Show-Obi-Wan Kenobi. That scene where Anakin and Obi-Wan dueled will remain my favourite.
May the Force be with him.
Vanilla Ice was also on a dancing-on-ice competition show. from the clips I've seen, he's surprisingly good on skates.
Who would have thought?
Also this guy called ice ice baby an infamous song. Lol it's a classic that everyone loves, not infamous.

I’m happy Hayden is finally getting the love and appreciation for his character and how he portrayed anikan for a lot of us the prequels and clone wars where our Star Wars growing up and I’m happy he knows the impact and importance of him and his character for us
I'm so happy for these guys, Hollywood has become a dumpster fire lately, and even before that, actors were always under pressure, and had to compromise their ideals and principles to please executives and get roles, these guys made the right decision by choosing the simple life
Damnit, Sunny! Your videos end so abruptly that it always takes my brain a min or two to register that you stopped talking. Do an outro man, damn! 😂😂😂
SunnyV2's voice make it seems like whether this was a bad or a good thing.
But still love how he narrates this videos.
This shows that: *Even if a person is famous and have everything, they still want to be a normal human being, regardless of money or sickness*
Sometimes fame isn’t really a gift sometimes it could make your life harder. The sad thing is (I guess not so sad sometimes it could be a good thing that they feel the need to get a normal job) is that some celebrities feel like that they have to work a normal job to feel normal. Sometimes the lack of privacy celebrities get affects them. They get all this attention but then it takes away from the fact that they are just normal people. Some of these celebrities just did what they had to do.
Sunnyv2 inspires me. My parents said if I get 15k followers They'd buy me a better camera for recording..begging u guys, literally begging....
Massive respect to those that decided to leave and continue their own way. I really liked Hayden and Boyle’s way. Hayden starting a farm and Boyle applying for £6 hour job while she’s LOADED just to have something to do. I’m very impressed.
Also very nice to see “happy endings”. It’s sad when people don’t realise enough is enough and continue a downward spiral in hunt for fame and fortune. Some really are 15 minutes wonders.
The Sherminator becoming a realtor was also very impressive.
This list was a lot more wholesome then I was expecting and I'm so glad about that
That's not Kevin James, that's Kevin Smith. Vanilla Ice wasn't a one-hit wonder.. his TMNT song Go Ninja Go Ninja Go (or whatever it was called) was a banger. Also, for The Sherminator to be a waiter, that job path is nothing new for struggling actors lol.
Other than that, great video as always. Keep em coming!
Imagine working on a job that you love and don't even need the money...That's the life we're all dreaming for

No Pat Tillman?
Pat was the ultimate famous-person-to-normal-person story. Went from a star football player to being a Ranger in the Army.

It's not mentioned in this video but I like how the actor who played Chunk in The Goonies, Jeff Cohen became a successful lawyer and actually was able to distance himself from that role a bit and keep his success because of his skills rather than his fame from that role.
Which is a shame, cuz he could have easily been the next John Candy.
I wish more actors would do this. Hollywood is such a cancer and it’s so full of it’s self that many of the actors and actresses who live/work there are so out of touch with reality that they forget they’re just like the rest of us. Some of my favorite Baseball stories are Zach Grenkie wanting to retire from baseball and becoming a garbage man or starting a lawn care buisness he had social anxiety and couldn’t handle being on the big screen despite being the best pitcher in the MLB at the time and winning the Cy Young award. He even requested a trade to the minor leagues. Joey Votto did something similar and wanted to just be a simple bud driver instead of being one of the most disciplined batters of all time. It’s crazy how you could spend most of your life to chase a dream just to want to do something simple instead
Haven’t watched the video yet, but Randy Johnson going from Hall of Fame MLB pitcher to NFL photographer is just awesome to me.
Ive seen pics of him on the sideline. Its funny when the tallest person on an nfl field is a photographer

@3:50 - That's Kevin Smith, the director of Clerks and Dogma, not Kevin James, the sitcom actor.
I'm Australian and we tend to do a rising inflection at the end of sentences but not like SunnyV2 does at the end of his sentences.

I also believe that Atreyu from The NeverEnding Story, once a child actor, is now a Dentist. And keeps a photo of the Swamp of Sadness scene in his practice. I appreciate the connection. But seeing a photo of Artax sinking whilst I'm having my teeth examined would have me in tears!
Some of the actors from your favorite tv shows/movies were given an easy position in acting. But what a lot of us don’t realize is that being in front of the cameras, no matter how much money or attention you get, it isn’t everyone’s desires
Vanilla Ice is still doing home renovation/house flipping, in fact Zillow did an interview with him just last year where (if I remember correctly) he was scoping out house in Missouri to flip due to it being a growing market.
