I just had the sudden realisation that FtD has changed SO MUCH since when I first saw it on your channel a number of years ago. Back then it felt like a bit of a derpy water-based combat physics sim thing that while derpy, was still amazing to watch. Now, the graphics, the physics, the sounds design is so much more polished. The feel and the mood of the game has become way more serious and realistic. Idk why but I just never really noticed it about the game.
I'll always pine for the days of dingy brown and corroded-copper green ships with comically oversized segmented cannons filling the skies with obscene quantities of lead while planes zipped by tailed by long red streams of fire... but the new game is truly something to behold.
Crazy, isnt it? Its like FTD became actually a pretty big, real game, rather than the messy bunch of ideas thrown together that it was back in the day.
Petition FtD devs to add "potato" pellet to CRAMs.
The more potato in a shell, the more yellow it becomes. And less round. Possibly makes it hollow point.
Also rapid-fire railguns are fun.

that last fight even though it looked quite repetitive, was actually quite thrilling cuz we didn't really know if you were actually going to pull through!

An idea-create a glass cannon of epic proportions-biggest calibre,maximum shell lenght, barrel has to be at least twice the lenght of the vehicle hull,all explosives.

I know this is a game but I had this video open on a different tab and that sentence made me laugh, I had to do a double take to make sure I hadn't misheard.
I'm not sure if you know, but gunpowder is for bullet propulsion, not explosions. I think.
@@Monochromania1 I know, My brain took a few seconds to get itself together. Like most people, I automatically associate more gunpowder with more firepower IRL. So for a second my brain genuinely went "Wait, no gunpowder means a weaker shell..right?" Completely forgetting that I was watching a FTD Let's play. Then I switched tabs and laughed myself silly when I realised that I casually tried to apply real life weapon logic to a FTD weapons vid lol.

Well high explosives can be used as a propellent. I believe the metal storm uses such a method with plastic explosives behind each projectile set off by electric signal.
More explosive power and expansion rate than gun powder. So yeah more powerful.
@@AJB4D Yeah, I believe IRL HE anti tank weapons are also built in a vaguely similar way. They're made such that the explosive material is placed 'behind' the actual shrapnel "payload". When the warhead makes contact with the enemy vehicle, the HE goes off and pushes the shrapnel through the armor like a syringe against skin.
lets not lapse back into "10 episodes of shooting at a pixel" cmon, short range, live a little!

Watching thia reminded me for some reason how I watched you play this game years ago. Back then, I remember when advanced cannons were added, it all seemed so crazy complex and OP.
Now I look how much this game expanded and improves over the years... Crazy...

Also! I had a neat idea for your next Neter campaign series - you can start out with the final version of your craft from this series, but only that. The sort of idea being that after you've wandered through the strange endless sea of Adventure Mode, you managed to find a place that was actually, kind of, stable and constant.
This is one of the best series on your channel already, I love adventure mode.
Lasers do reduced damage to targets under water. Remember... You're a submersible. Strike, dive, recharge, surface, strike, repeat. Be the ambush predator.

I like the slow firing heavy laser at the front but all in all, the ship is lacking on more firepower. Maybe place the advance cannons on a 360 turret? Perhaps a cluster of missiles, just like that last enemy was using

Particle cannons are real nice. I can't wait to make a necron monolith using particle cannons and those fortress hover like blocks. hopefully its possible to make a necron monolith in this game.

Low gauge rapid fire rail guns are actually pretty viable. The GT Apollo does the same thing with AP shells and it does decently well
I would love to see a slow charging, high capacity laser on this ship. Only get a couple of shots a fight but with the new settings for lasers, and the fact laser shoot through multiple blocks, it should be better than the particle gun.

If you happen to run into another EMP-resistant enemy down the road while using the particle cannon, I think switching it to do piercing damage would prove most beneficial.

Shotguns really are the best use for the piercing particle cannon mode, as single-barrel is usually vast overkill.

Now that it’s also reached full release, is there any chance of you taking another look at Avorion? There have been a lot of changes to progression and weapon balance, as well as a lot of other smaller things.
Youve made a vehicle similar to the Hortan 229, an expirememtnal German jet craft. It was a flying wing design, which accidentally gave it a Small radar cross section.

When you will be playing campain I would ask you to make battle satellite. You told before that you don't like them because enemy can't fight back so I'm thinking about some rules so you won't feel bad for AI. The ones I'm thinking is: you can use satellites only on your terytory (maybe one asasin satalite out restring resource points) and you need to make ship that will move the satellite near it final place and be lunching platform. Idea is that you can make defensive network that will stop all enemy ships but you will need to use much resources to make it. You are the one that make me want to see battle satellite and none done it in practice on CZcams.

Does Lathrix/Lathland have any overview/guide on this game? Looks super interesting and somewhat complicated, and I'd love to know more. Currently watching the latest playthrough, after a few earlier videos, but even on episode 5 I'm still not quite sure what's going on or how the ships work.
