The verpine are kinda like a light side equivalent to the geonosians.
That's a very apt way of putting it
@@brokenbridge6316 thanks
@@CloneScavengerVulpin8389---Your welcome
Actually they were completely neutral. They were more concerned with tech than anything really.
@@yugioht42 true
Looking at the verpine and colicoid, it seems like insectoids are the top engineers in the star wars galaxy
That makes perfect sense honestly. Human society and industry is kind of held back by our inability to work together in large groups effectively. A species that is already accommodated via biology to operate in large groups toward a single shared goal, would be superior.
@@joda7697 Mindless bugman.
@@joda7697 they good builders even in real life with termite and ant mounds being massive complexes, still we do better arts and crafts
Dont forget the Geonosians.
good point@@1ceanator99
I loved using Verpine anything in the first two KOTOR games.
*YES!* they're probably the most underrated and underappreciated species in star wars, and have atleast been _my personal favorite_ for quite a while. More people need to know and talk about these little buggers
The Verpine is now my favorite insectoid species in Star Wars. And yes, I would love to hear about the Kililk as well.
I think mine are the Hukk
@@glumplog1552 the ones that moved war on the kaleesh thus causing the birth of grevious?

"No Patrick, mayonnaise cannot kill a Jedi."
How about a video on the Ssi-Ruuk and the Ssi-Ruvvi Imperium? Not sure if they count as a hive-minded species, but they are known for using bizarre technology.
@@ARandomSpecOpthe Chazrak seemed to be, although they were also primitive.
If they were in the Starship Trooper Universe, that would not end well for them
In the book humans ended up allied with the skinnies an alien race against the bugs.
The government in Starship troopers was rather chill. That was the entire point it was practically librarian.
They carried a big stick so it wouldn't need to be used.
@@jtjames79you meant liberal, right?
Edit: People already told me it’s libertarian and not liberal, sorry for the mistake.
@@Mayflower-YevHe meant Librarian from Warhammer 40k Spacemarine chapters. They have psychic powers that could help them with peculiar situation.
Unless they attacked first, they’d probably be fine. While the Starship Troopers government was a weird combination of libertarian and fascist, the latter more in the movies but the book was too, they didn’t seem to be spoiling for a fight until they were attacked. Unless Buenos Aires was a false flag operation to drum up support for the war, and honestly I wouldn’t be too surprised if that was Verhoeven’s intention in the first movie. That man had Things To Say with the world building. I’m pretty sure Heinlein didn’t intend that in the book, though it’s been years since I’ve read it.
@jtjames79 you must be familiar with a different Starship Troopers Earth government.. cuz there's nothin chill about them.
Since you asked for other species to do videos on, how about the Besalisk the species of Dexter Jettster and Pong Krell?
Sounds like a nice idea. Also I love your profile pic.
@@brokenbridge6316 Thank you. I'm a pretty big Owl House fan, though not as big as other series I'm really into, Star Wars being one of them that is bigger which is why I'm here. :)
@@zexalbrony4799---Hey I get what you mean. I love SW too. But I'm not a super fan. But it's thanks to video's like this one that I've come to know it quite well. And PS: your welcome and the Owl House is a great series. Although I haven't finished watchin it, yet.
@@brokenbridge6316 Yeah it is a great series, I just wish it got a proper season 3, but Dinsey had to go and cancel it early. First cutting Clone Wars short and now Owl House, they keep going after the good stuff.
@@zexalbrony4799---Believe me I share in your frustration
The Verpine made some great & well known starfighters
There was a Verpine Jedi that served Darth Sidious after order 66 once he/she saw how fast the Dark Lord wiped out the other Jedi in the room.
they're hermaphrodites so they're both
Man that was disappointing! I like the more crazy looking aliens, they don't get enough spot light. Only the more "human" looking aliens do. I wanted him to at least die a hero.😡
Thank for covering the awesome Verpine! Happy Thanksgiving 🦃!
Have you done a video on the Vurk? I’d love to see one of your videos on Coleman Trebor’s species.
Wait. *can* mayonnaise kills a jedi? Also the radio communication and democracy makes them a rather unique insectoid in any sci-fi I’ve seen.
Nice to see Can mayonnaise kill a jedi art at 4:06 they need the exposure.
good to see the art from the Can Mayonnaise Kill a Jedi podcast, I ahve been a fan of them for a while.
Yo same
Thank you for the subtle CMKJ shout out! -CMKJ Cohost
Who dis?
4:18 - so can mayo kill a jedi?
Mayonnaise can not kill a Jedi.
(Raises hand)
Horseradish can not kill a Jedi either.
lol.

Very cool. I like the positive aspects of having a hive mind society.
Would love to see them on screen, either animated or in live action
How about a video on the Neti the good old sentient plant species
I don't know what mayonnaise does to a Jedi, but i hope the Cannon addresses this soon.
Only a Sith deals in condiments.
Yes, the Verpine are awesome (even remind me of the Shirren from Starfinder). I'd love to see a video on the Vratix, the species that produces bacta.
Do the Kiffar, Quinlan Vos’s species.
I think a video about the Zhell, and perhaps hypothesizing about the shared ancestry of humans and near humans might be interesting.
i appreciate seeing networked minds that arent hostile. lot of ways to share a mind that dont preclude individuality . we are doing it right now, just with somewhat lower bandwidth than the ones in sci fi.
I love star wars species so much lets hope the verpine species in upcoming star wars content
Nice to see the creators of all my favorite goofy spaceships
I think you should cover the Zeltrons later.
4:12 "Can Mayonnaise Kill a Jedi?"
Two arms and two legs? Compound eyes? Carapace? Fleshy joints? - Arachnid
I wonder if AP-9 was made by this species.
This has quickly become my favorite Star Wars channel
Verpine also make energy shield, ion rifle that torn battle droid into shreds too. I've known them back sinc Knight of The Old Republic Game.
"Can mayonnaise kill Jedi?"
That is a really good question.
Swarm war books are awesome. Long Live the Real Expanded Universe
Finally! A video (Mostly) about stuff AFTER Revenge Of The Sith. Can we get more of such content, please?
Very cool video, I had seen the one Jedi Verpine in the Republic Comics, but didn’t know anything about them. I know you probably don’t take suggestions from the regular comments, but I would love a video about the Bothans. Jedi Master Kai Hudorra, is one of my favorites
Cant wait for the kilick video…
Thanks for the video
I would like to hear more about these guys.
I love these guys!
Wow, your pull on your recent cards is ridicoulsly good :) Owl Gaming.
Gotta love the shatter rifles.
Nice episode.
The Kaleesh
I got no problemo with these guys.
So when that Mon Calamari invented the B-Wing in Rebels, was that a retcon of this?
The B wing was made by a Mon calamari during star wars rebels
on you're next video can you talk about all protocol droids series please
🤔... actually their droids were the best in the Galaxy :) and at a lower cost 🤔 ... if I remember correctly 😅
Im afraid of em but , i think they interesting as hell
I’m hoping canon throws the verpine a bone and allows them to establish a colony on geonosis in the wake of all of the geonosians being dead
do the hiromi next.
Designed the B-wing? Don't you mean helped mass produce it? As it was designed by Quari a mon Calamari as shown in Star Wars Rebels.
Quarie improved upon the designs, he didn’t come up with the original.
@@QixTheDS According to wookiepedia they have the Designer as being Quarrie. With the manufacturers being Slayne and Korpil.
@@MrRimant Quarrie took the original design, made it real and made it better. “Verpine shipwrights crafted designs that engineer Quarrie aimed to improve upon in his designing of the Prototype B6” and “In designing the ship, Quarrie intended to improve upon the designs initially created by Verpine shipwrights.” Straight from the canon Verpine and prototype b6 entries respectively. As for the manufacturers, yes it was Slayne and Korpil, the Verpine shipwrights that mass produced the official b wing after it was finished by Quarrie.
Generally these episodes are Legends based. In Legends, the designers were all Verpine with Ackbar giving input.
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽️
Am still into human built craft, but kudos for the Verpines on having a niche on this galactic business enterprise.
No need to make vids on the Killiks. I still shudder to remember poor Jaina Solo being a victim of them (and also by the insane writings and kinks motherkarking Troy Denning).
So Verpine are the honey bees. 'Nough said.
can you do a video about the swarm wars?
Cool 😎
Gotta love rule breakers
You should do a video on the shape-shifting shi'ido species.
The Ang-Ti
Am i high, or did i see a sign say "Can mayonnaise kill a jedi?" ?
I'm sure Omni man would have loved them......
Im writing the 3rd story of a fan story thats set more than a century after tros and planning one of the main ships of the new government to be a Slayn and Korpil ship
aqueezyboy turbolaser XD
This is Canon for me!
Hmm, I was of the opinion that the Verpine were descendants of the Killiks but you make no mention of that in the vid.
In fact, with only a glancing search, I don't find any mention of a relationship but the body build is pretty dang coincidental then.
Both species even had a similar fashion of distance communication.
I see mention of the Killiks disappearing around the same time as the Celestials (whom had enslaved them) so...
Am I off base with this assumption?
At least as far as the EU goes they were still around just stripped of a lot of intelligence and stuck on alderaan and few other planets they play a big part in the TOR story for the planet and you've got the dark nest crisis. The celestial seem to high jack the hive mind when they need workers to build shit than cit them loose after lobotomizing them and removing the knowledge of all the cool shit like building star systems.
I keep getting different word on where the B-wing came from.
👍
So. With this species theres sentient AND non sentiment... an they dont seem obsessed with the Colony, hive or whatever one giany space bug or another calls it.
Bein apparently quite good at everything intergalactic tech wonder if one of these bugs ever suffered an faith crisis or had any kinda similar odd feelings if any of them set out to or was contracted to make a bunch of bug zappers
Chitinous is pronounced "Ky-tinous".
These guys were an interesting race, but like with many species given the moniker, they are not actually a hivemind race. Really, they are a eusocial species, more similar to ants and bees than they would be to the Borg, a more accurate representation of a "hivemind."
"Hivemind" is often a misnomer used when describing eusocial behaviour, but should not be conflated.
every incect video I am reminded he can't pronounce chitin like a normal human
The only stereotype about the Senate is of his excellence.
