Where did you get your cowl lights and mounts? I looked everywhere and couldn't find a set for a 3rd gen. Mine is an 08 Megacab similar to yours. Also, looking at doing a set of Thuren 3" soft ride springs and control arms. I have Rough County lift springs now and they are as their name implies...rough.
The mounts are from sdhqoffroad.com. They bolt onto the hood hinge and require a little bit of plastic trimming but no metal trimming. There is one bolt that some trucks may require the fender clearanced and my truck had the issue but I didn’t want to grind the inside of the fender so I just left the bolt out and I haven’t had any issues with the lights vibrating for the last 3 years. The lights are Baja designs XL’s. I use to have 6 inch kc hilites round lights and they didn’t vibrate either.
What valving did you choose for your shocks? How does it feel on road bumps? Are you happy with the valving or do you wish you had gone with different valving?
I bought the carli 2.5s because thuren was 6-7 months on 2.5s at the time and carli had them in stock. The carli standard valving is between the thuren stage 3 and 4. Im very happy with how it rides. If I went with thuren I would have got stage 4 but here in the northwest it’s most logging roads and slower ruts and bumps. If I lived in the desert or planned on jumping the truck I would have moved up to stage 5 but for where I live and what I’m willing to do with the truck while still being able to haul my excavator I’m very happy with the results.
Haven’t been able to work on it much since the last video but I’m looking for a painter right now to get the paint done before this summer. Once I have a spot for it in my shop again I’ll have regular videos coming out.
