Haters: "Conor can't beat a wrestler like Mendes!!!"
Haters after Conor beat Mendes: "There is no way Conor can beat Aldo!!!"
Haters after Conor beat Aldo:" Okay, but there is no way he can beat Frankie Edgar!!"
    I'm sensing a pattern here...

+SexJunkle Lol, its ridiculous how you give Conor no credit whatsoever. Jose knocked himself out? LOL Conor had nothing to do with it, Conor's movement, well placed and well timed punch wasnt even a factor. Jose would have knocked himself out even if conor wasn't in the ring right? lol, he just stood there, Jose ran into his hand and was out cold. And Weidman was such a fluke that he went on the defend his title 3 times. Correct me if am wrong but your not the brightest bulb around are you?

"I felt when we stared down, I felt his right hand was twitching, which was a subtle tell for me. He is ready to unload that right hand and I feel that will be a downfall for him. if he lets that right hand go, I will not be there. I simply enter the way I enter, and that is enough, they either overextend or they shrink away, but either way it is not good for them. I will create traps and dead-space inside that octagon and i will walk him into that dead space, but all of a sudden he will be in danger. We will collide in the middle of the octagon and José will fall on the first exchange" - Conor McGregor

Don Calo It was obvious in weigh ins that he is not 145. I actually think they lie in the true weigh ins. Thats why they don't show the actual scale weight. At 155 he won't have a power advantage and his ground game defense will be tested. Look at who he has lost to and what weight it is. Don't get me wrong I love conor and his amazing striking

Anderson silva got a rematch, Frankie Edgar got a rematch,Cain velasquez got a rematch, hell even rousey is getting a rematch after getting embarrassed, barao also had his rematch..... The greatest featherweight champion in ufc history Jose Aldo deserve a rematch

+Akash Ashtekar I'm sure he will get a rematch is he asked for one.

    • @Guttsdoyle
      @Guttsdoyle Před 8 lety +2

+Akash Ashtekar Silva was the biggest star in the UFC. Edgar lost a very close decision. Cain didn't get a rematch he fought Bigfoot. Rousey was the biggest star in the sport before Saturday. So either the rematch makes UFC big money or the former champs claim is undeniable.
Jose was a solid champion who played it safe the moment he got into the UFC. He never went for the finish (he has been quoted saying as much himself). He consistently pulled out of fights to benefit himself (get to fight in Brazil). He refuses to learn English so alienated himself for the bulk of the media. Oh and he got KTFO in 13 secs even after McGregor told him out right how he would finish him. Jose doesn't deserve an immediate rematch and Jose won't get an immediate rematch.
Jose needs to fight Holloway or possibly Edgar if McGregor go's after the LW belt. And he needs to soundly beat either guy. None of this blitz for 2 rds then coast to a decision. Get the fuck out there and finish. Show the world you are still a bad mofo. Honestly though I expect Frankie or Max to starch him. The aura is gone. His chin maybe gone. And not 100% but I think the steroids are gone. Listen to JRE from yesterday. Joe talks about Jose's body been a shell of how he looked in previous fights.
All that aside. McGregor is in the most dominant position we have seen any fighter with regards to calling shots. The UFC know after Saturday, Conor says "jump" and they ask "how high". In the modern UFC nobody would get a straight title shot in a higher weight class after only just claiming the belt. Dana White is in his back pocket now. And you can see by his expression post fight he is not one bit happy about it. Honestly every fighter on the roster should be praying McGregor wins that 155 title. Because Conor is spear heading a campaign for fighters rights (whether he knows it or not).

It's very sad to see any great champion fall.. But we all gotta appreciate Jose Aldo as a fighter from what he's done in the sport regardless of the outcome win or lose.. I personally believe it he's time it happens to all the greats in any sport they reach that moment they are on top of the world and you see the slowness the deterioration in certain aspects just because Jose is 29 doesn't mean it can't happen he's been in alot fights/ tournaments it takes its toll it happens to greats in any sport i.e Messi or Lebron what they are doing now in another 4-5 years it will slowly fade.. It's a shame an scary when u sit an think about it but it happens that's the human cycle. Jose Aldo will always be a legend without a doubt.

Nice. I sense a air of contentment about him. In previous post-fight conferences, he was still aiming for the title and you could feel his passion and sense of urgency. I feel for Aldo too. Should have been a a bigger moment for both of them I think and for the fans. But like he always says, he stays ready. And the difference I notice about him more than the other fighters is that his sense for when to pounce or finish is much stronger. I look forward to more from him.

Very good decision on Conor's part to maintain the 145 belt because Conor vs Edgar and Conor vs Aldo 2 are both fights I really want to see. There have only been two fighters (BJ Penn and Randy Couture) who have held belts in two weight classes and BJ attempted to hold two at the same time when he fought GSP the second time, but failed. Would be interesting to see Conor pull it off.

Congrats to McGregor. History has been made, a record-breaking 13-sec knockout. Well deserved.
I'm starting to believe the big 3 - Jones, Mcgregor, and Northcutt (needs time, tougher challengers & more fights) are made from the same cloth. Salute to Aldo. It was heart-breaking to see him go out like he did, but Aldo is and will remain among the best pound-4-pound fighters of all time. He has nothing but respect from me. I'm curious to see if Aldo will retire or continue to fight, and if so, who would be his next best match-up?

nope because he didn't call it a fight So to me he's hurting more than he showed and his nose wouldn't stop bleeding for nothing and it looks like his jaw on the left side got fucked up where Connor hit him but hey he'll just it wasn't a fight and he didn't lose lol.

Thing is Conor has combined, precision, speed, power, accuracy, knowlegde, movement, defense. All these attributes are being fusion-ed into being a human, putting it in another perspective he has been able to open up different doors that we all posses, and crammed them into a fighting art! I knew Conor would win, I have been following him intensely for 4-5months since the fight was accounted for.
    Next division! cant wait.

I've been an Aldo fan for the past decade. And as I watched him come up the ranks, I also became a McGregor fan. I didn't like the trash he talked and almost became a hater, but i realize it's mostly for promo. He did what exactly what he needed to to promote that fight. In the end, McGregor came through with class and showed respect to Aldo, which shows just the kind of man he is. When all is said and done, he showed true sportsmanship. gg
