  • I've been looking for a way to organise the family's calendar (and a whole lot more!) and did a bit of a search on Google and found a number of company's who sell ready to go units but the price tag was a tad high and you know what this channel is about, making and repairing things!
DAKboard are a company that sell exactly what I'm looking for and on a search of their website I was happy to see they not only sell the completed units but also allow you to use their software in your own creation. The software is based a Raspberry Pi (that this channel has used before) so I bought a few more bits I didn't have and set about the build. I think the video explains what Dakboard do and what I'm trying to achieve. Take a look at their site for more information, link below.
This is part 1 of a 2 part build and in this video I set about building the frame I want to hang the monitor in. The second part is the electronics build and assembly. The completed unit is going to hang on the kitchen wall, exactly where everyone in the household will have easy access to it.
Link to Dakboard main website, take a look around: dakboard.com/site
Link to Mike’s store front on Amazon where a lot of the tools and gear used in my videos are shown: www.amazon.co.uk/shop/mikemak...

You and me both! Keep a look out for part 2 and hopefully everything will become clear! Thanks for watching Andy.

Nice bit of woodwork, easier when you have all the tools. Learn something every day (was expecting to see digestives when you mentioned biscuit joints). Struggling to see how the wall bracket will work as the screen is recessed into the frame, but I'm sure you have more than one trick up both sleeves.

Hi Ralph, thanks for the comments. Unfortunately no biscuits of the digestive type here, yet! I do have a plan to hang the screen, hopefully it will work, time will tell. Keep a look out for part 2 and hopefully every thing will make sense.

Hi there! Greetings from Aruba. Could you make a follow up video on the Makita ebh252u brush cutter?

Hi Johnny and thanks for the comment. I usually do a follow-up's if there are issues or things I want to point out after I used the item for a while. In the case of the Makita (My video czcams.com/video/Ip3CrWG8ZWE/video.html ) I'll be honest, nothings changed and I don't have anything to add really. I'll start using it again soon as the weather is getting better here. One thing comes to mind though and thats the string line dispenser. I don't like it and have problems using it, and it's easy to loose the black spacer in side of it so maybe I'll look at airing this in a month or so. Thanks for watching.

No, not yet. I’ve been using the board but had some issues with how I’d like the mouse to work. Currently it’s a work in progress. Thanks for your interest though 👍🏽
