      Hello everyone, if you want to get rid of this fucking disease. Follow these steps.
      1: Keep yourself busy in positive things. If you will stay free. This disease will overcome you.
      2: Focus on the present and do not listen to these fucking thoughts.
      3: Set a goal and stick to it.
      4: Control your anxiety. Do exercise and some games.

    OCD is actually so painful and annoying. A lot of people use this term to look cool. It's not a trend. It's not about being organized. It's a disorder. For me, it has become stronger over the years. I experience it so often. It hurts when I try to not think about something but my mind still focuses on that. I try to change the subject through a distraction but it doesn't work easily. It's getting harder for me. No matter how hard I try. I hope someday it gets way. 🥺

    @tusharislam8002 Před 2 lety +39

    I used to have a mild case in my early teens and thankfully managed to overcome this.
    My wife has a very severe case of OCD where everything must be cleaned. She hates dust and hair the most. Once something is used it needs to be wiped down thoroughly. This ranges from her hair brush after brushing her hair to cleaning up the whole bathroom after using the toilet/shower. We tend not to go out anymore now as much because she can not put her make up on as if she takes it out it'll take her longer to clean it up afterwards. Our relationship is suffering and she is too. It hurts me to watch her do these things. I have tried to stop her, the same way I stopped myself through sheer will and rational thinking, but she says that when I tell her to stop, it causes her to do more. On the flip side she also asks me to help her. Especially when she blames me for the compulsions. An example that happened recently is after she used cream on her face I put the cream back in to the draw without wiping it. She then ended up up wiping the cream tub extra long, and then spent 2 hours wiping the draw. And asking me to help her with getting her towels etc. I Know I shouldn't listen or help her with her compulsions as this makes it worse but then we just argue. Life is tough for us and I know it is tough for her. It's gotten to the point where she doesn't want medical help and says that she likes doing the cleaning. That she'd rather everything be clean and spotless rather than do anything else.
    I don't know who to share this with so I'll just leave it here. I pray to God she becomes better and we live our lives normally

    I have primarily obsessional OCD and scrupulosity. I deal with intrusive thoughts that have made me want to kill myself multiple times. Luckily, I have not attempted.
    My scrupulosity has to do with swearing, inappropriate jokes, and rules. If someone swears around me, my compulsion is to tell them to knock it off, and I will often gain more anxiety if they don’t listen to me or continue. Same with inappropriate jokes. This makes me susceptible to bullying, as someone who I thought was a friend started swearing pretty badly around me just to trigger me. Another thing is rules. Rules must be followed or I’ll have a panic attack.
    Another thing is that I must get high grades or I’ll have a panic attack. I also can’t get in any form of trouble or I get anxious.
    I’m also very sensitive to sudden, loud, and especially high-pitched noise.
    Last thing is that I have OCPD, which is why I am a perfectionist and enforce my rules onto others.
    I am seeing a therapist and am about to go through CBT. I am in high school, by the way.

And my kitchen sink MUST be completely free of anything and wiped down....or I go nuts. I don't have rugs with 'fringe' because I have to 'comb' the fringe straight ALL the time. I know I've missed out on a LOT of living because of OCD and even THAT stresses me out!!!

  • @capricornofjanuary4thbakug92

    I don't know if I have OCD (though I do have ADHD and general anxiety disorder) so here's some of the things I do.
    1. Whenever I eat I have to count how many bites I take out of my food and it must be half or a multiple of my age in the end. (Typically 70 or 140 because I like even numbers and zeros)
    2. Relating to number 1, if I am eating multiple pieces of the sane food (like chicken nuggets or pizza for example) I have to take the exact same number of bites out of each piece to add up to a specific multiple of my age or half of my age (like 35, 70, or 140).
    3. When I drink bottled water I have to drink in sevens, but I have to swallow three times while holding the bottle in my right hand, once in the middle with both hands, and then three more times with my left, and the occasional rinse and repeat.
    4. If I do something strange and get a sensation on one side (Like hitting my desk in a certain way) then I have to copy it exactly on the other side.
    At least I'm good at math.
    For now this is all I can think of. I'm not officially diagnosed because my mom says the ADHD medicine should help, but I'm not so sure.

Expose yourself and let the anxiety ride out once you repeat this and habituate your trigger decreases instead of creating new rituals to decrease the anxiety. It will continue if you give in which is the rituals and over thinking. Good luck to you its a bitch of a disorder but you can do it!

      I’m not completely sure if I have OCD but I have a lot of intrusive thoughts (and always have) and I have this idea that the even numbers are good, so if I have a word, say education, I’ll count the letters out in my hands and if the word is uneven I’ll try and reform the sentence in a way that the sentence will have an even amount of letters. I hope this doesn’t sound as ridiculous as I think it does, but this task is very time consuming if I do it over and over (which I tend to do) and if I don’t do it I think something bad will happen. I was just wondering if this sounded like ocd to anyone?

    I am not trying to self diagnose but I feel like I may have OCD, because I constantly check things over and over and over, and often when I walk, I try to walk in a pattern so that each foot steps on the floor tiles the same amount of times. The thing that is worst for me is that every time I see text/ words I count them in a rhythm of twos, to see if there is an even amount of letters. If there is not, I hid my breath until I find another piece of text to look at and I count that too until there is an even amount of letters altogether. It is so annoying; I don’t know if it is ocd and it is just awkward talking to my family about it because my brain tries to convince me that I don’t have it, that I am fine, when I am not :(

May not mean much from a stranger on the internet but as someone who’s working through the same process as well I have faith that this is a small part the both of us are capable of. Parents can be awkward to tell but they are a necessary step in getting the help we need, depending on what we really even need help on. Anyone here have physical harm OCD? How do I stop it? How do I snap out of it if I get stuck in a loop that's taking too much out of me? If I get hurt on one side of my body I feel like I have to do it on my other side to feel even. I barely ever get the same amount of pain or pressure on the other side so I will do it again and again and again until both sides are equally hurt.

    • @bendyalien
      @bendyalien Před 3 lety

      I do that too! I thought I was the only one. I don’t really know how to stop it, I feel like we just need to think to ourselves logically that we can be in control of our own body. Just resist it. It is really difficult and I struggle too but sometimes I distract myself or just tell myself not to which is all you can really do :/

      Now don’t get concerned or go googling your symptoms, I’m commenting this to loads of people but when reading your comment you said you have OCD symptoms and ticks, just to be safe do your research on “PANDAS/PANS”. Basically it happens when ticks and/or OCD suddenly appear or worsen after a streptococcal infection. You probably don’t have it just spreading awareness and making sure.

    I need some advice for anyone that sees this. For all my life I’ve been struggling with awful dark thoughts, the thoughts always revolve around me being able to cause devastation to others or me so easily. For example if you had a button right in front of you that would kill your family and friends I would have a strong urge to press it. Not Because I want to but because it’s such possible option. It’s always the things I don’t want to do that I have the urge to do. Currently I restrict myself from things that I enjoy because I’m afraid I’ll just ruin it, if you have any advice please share.

    I need help. I don’t know if I have ocd or not and if not then what do I have? I have a lot of obsessions since I can think of and for example I always need to wash my hand 2 times with soap or turn the lights on and off several times or always go back 4 times in a video of i didn’t understand just one single word. It drives me crazy and I even tought of death sometimes since it made me so stressed. I’m a girl and only 15 so I don’t know if this is just a phase but I tried to therapy myself several times and it didn’t work. Also I don’t have these obsessions because I want to be very clean or make sure the light is correctly turned on (or at least I think it is not because of that) so I don’t know what could help me with my problem. Please help me I’m so stressed and depressed because of this.

    Well i think i hat OCD or something similar. Back then I was about 10-13 Years old. I always needed to right over my text on the paper like always up to 7 or 8 times because i always said to my self in my mind "you need to right it down eight times". It was a big big habit and i cried about it because i wanted it to stop. But i dont have it that extreme anymore since i do therapy. Maybe just a little when i wash my hands but not up to 8 times because i am able to say to myself that water is special and is really expensiv. Since then nothing really bad happened to me. And i most likely have much stress in my life but that is kind of normal or sometimes kinda annoying for me.

If i touched something that has a weird texture, I would just wash my hand until I am REALLY REALLY satisfied. And when I am going out, I am afraid that there would be some robbery, so i checked if the door is locked, and then i just become anxious about it the whole day until I came home. *weird* ....

    Actually ocd is accompanied by intrusive thoughts which forces our mind to perform these unwanted things or acts to get relief. And this repeatedly happens bcs more u try to push these intrusive thoughts more they will appear in ur mind ultimately becoming our obsession which lead us to compulsions🌀
