The ARTPLA Sculpture Works kit traces its roots back to Kaiyodo's original 1991 soft vinyl kit sculpted by the late Taku "Roboshi" Sato. That sculpt is still being used by Kaiyodo on other Gunbuster kits and toys, right up to the massive Mega Sofvi figure. And for good reason, as the design looks straight out of the anime.
