Nikki!! I feel your pain. Hubby and I played yesterday, him as Ultron and me as Thanos. Our game was very similar to yours. Everything was going in his favor and my game was going “knowhere”. Keep your head up, girl!
I think when you play the Price of Life card and remove the token you discard it. You get the power in lieu of the token. The card would say claim or move the token to Odin's vault if the Hela player got to keep it.
The common "house" variant on fate cards for Marvel is draw 2 choose 1 unless you draw one of the events. The Disney version sees you drawing 2 and choosing 1 so that you usually don't end up completely whiffing like Nikki did. Also, the game is largely "action optimization", which made some of Nikki's early moves hard to watch. Getting 1 out of 4 actions is really hard to recover from.
That's why I play with the classic fate system of revealing 2 Fate cards and choosing one to play. Sometimes you can hurt yourself by fating someone lol

According to the FAQs and errata I could find you cannot. Here is what I found in preparation to film this: "A Stone is Found: Playing as any Villain other than Thanos in a 2 Player Game - You must discard this card." In all honesty I feel a house rule in a two player game allowing you to draw 2 fate cards and choosing one would be how I would play this going forward. Thanks for the note and watching.-Lincoln
Ouch, I think Disney villainous is just a little more streamlined and lighter. The balance means its less likely a player is completely destroyed and has more of a chance to win. Thematically this is cool, but mechanically I'm not sure, its almost too random.
Awful game thanos broken and op clearly Disney villainous is a great family game but this version is terrible sorry for Nikki that was painful to watch if a member of my family got trounced like that in a game they would never play board games again

Yeah I do like randomness in my games but the Fate deck seems to determine a lot in this game.
Yeah, the fate deck seems wayyy meaner in this game than it is in any Disney Villainous game/Expansion. Way more in your face.

We played this for the first time the other day and...man it can really be a suffocating experience.
I believe you played the power stone card incorrect. Do you only get to place 2 plus one tokens or 4 plus ones ?

No, because A Taste of Cosmic Power stops Black Swan from being discarded as a result of the Vanquish action.

Doesn’t each board play on its own! I’m confused 😐 I thought you can’t use your card to play on another person board.

I watched this whole thing and I feel like I still don't even get the game. It didn't seem like they were having much fun.
