    Sam thanks for the shed tips. I have a 10x16 shed and purchased your recommended items to install my first window. Once done, I want to insulate the shed; why did you choose plywood as opposed to drywall for your wall covering and what thickness was it? Thanks again.

    • @diyhuntress
      @diyhuntress  Před 3 lety +1

      Den Wilson Hi! Sorry I’m just seeing this! Hope you’re loving your shed! I chose plywood because it’s a lot sturdier than drywall in the sense of it getting banged around. I only used 1/4” ply for the covering because I needed thinner material since I applied the accent wall pieces. Hope this still helps!

      @@diyhuntress thanks for the reply I know you're very busy BTW the window install went great and I finally decided on R-13 insulation and 3/8 chip board mostly due to cost. Also I'm using stall mats on top of the floor for added insulation. My shed is free standing and not on a foundation.

  • @JeanandKenny
    @JeanandKenny Před 2 lety +1

    Hi, new sub here. I have a 12x16 shed that was to become my workshop/craft area but we screwed up the insulation. 1/2 is fiberglass with paper, some of it torn and the rest never got done :( We live in WI and frankly it's dang cold. I think ripping all of the old fiberglass out and just using the spray foam would be a better use of our time and money. Not sure why spray foam can't be used on ceilings? Any good fiberglass we haul out we can use on the ceiling. Then I can find an affordable option for the walls. Thank you for the series, it has been fun!

      Hi! This particular spray is not recommended or meant for ceiling insulation. I’m still looking into options. Going to insulate in the spring. Wanted to get the shop up and running ASAP, and ceiling insulation felt like something I could I put off for a few months - especially since my last shop didn’t have any insulation and I made due. So far, so good on the warmth! Have a small space heater in there with me and can work in a t-shirt now even though it’s cold out! So excited! 😊

    • @diyhuntress

      Plywood is just easier to hang things on! It’s also more durable. Didn’t want to worry about accidentally making a hole in drywall if I hit it with a board.
