Trains in Frankfurt, Germany - Freight, ICE, Regio & Special Movements

Well I'm back in Frankfurt for the third time, my first in 2014 and my second in 2019. With better filming equipment and more time there, I made the most of the time I had to film as much of the day to day traffic around Frankfurt as possible.
This time round I got spoiled even catching three special movements as well as a huge variety of trains, freight, units and loco hauled trains, something that can't really be gotten back in Ireland.
For this video I focused my attention around the Deutschherrn Bridge on the East side of the city where absolutely anything can show up, it's also the main route for freight traffic, I also did some video out towards the airport area.
The footage was filmed between Monday the 27th September - Friday 1st October 2021.
I'm really am enthralled with the German railway system as it is so huge and the variety of trains is absolutely brilliant, something that can't be said for Ireland.
I hope one day to return to either Frankfurt or some other part of Germany again soon.

I'd say like 80% of commuter trains in Frankfurt are EMUs and 10% are DMUs. Locomotives for these services are becoming pretty rare.
Same goes with long haul trains. 90% or even more are ICE1 to 4 EMUs.
