  • This time, Dan takes his Heimdallr/SKX/GS mod and changes the Seconds Hand to something more akin to the Seiko SARB and swaps the chapter ring for something with more detail. The twist, of course, is that the chapter ring wasn't made for an SKX007 case, despite being advertised as such.

    Very very nice SARB033 feel.

    Those hands are beautiful and the detailed chapter ring looks good.

    I like this build because it's so non conventional but still works so well. If anyone asked me about building a SARB033 homage into an SKX, I'd be far from convinced. Terrific job!!

    Great video. It might just be me, but at 20:30, the reflection of the plant gives a nice green hue to the dial too.

    Great video and work as usual. I have had the same issue with eBay sellers incorrectly listing SKX007 parts, particularly chapter rings and crystal gaskets. Aliexpress describe these parts accurately but they take ages to arrive.

    Woah, that's quite an adventure, glad grinding down that chapter ring worked out in the end. I think the first seconds hand has that more sturdy look, might even work better than the more appropriate needle eye one.

    You have built an awesome watch and thanks for the tip about using the dial protector to fix hands. I was just fixing to take one out of the case because the minute hand is bent just a little. I have been wondering what I could use to support the hand as I straighten it. Glad I have a few of the dial protectors. Great job with the chapter ring.

    A nice improvement. I like the seconds hand, after all it's job is to catch the light and the eye which it does nicely. I can't help thinking though that the chapter ring will eat at you and maybe a sized replacement is needed? A great build, I love it.

    It looks fantastic. I would have used a snowflake white or blue frost dial but we all have our choices. Great job.

    Yep.....when in doubt, get a bigger hammer!!! Is it odd, that I could not stop smiling, the entire way through this video???? Lol. No seriously, I did really enjoy this build process. The mixture of build sounds, then to area's, that were set to music. All very well choreographed, and edited....if I do say so myself. I really quite liked, the beat loop, that you chose. Very appropriate, IMHO. I love the second hand upgrade, as well as the new chapter ring. Both definite improvements, if you ask me. I enjoy your innovative attitude, and resolve to work the issue out, using what the good lord gave you.....problem solving skills, and creativity. To guys like us, that have the initiative to seek out hobbies like this one, it's in our nature. Does it always work out???? No, but the important thing is that we've learned from it. So hopefully, the next time around, we'll know better, what's possible, and what's not, and how to approach the situation more sensibly in the future. The learning curve, at it's best. I really like the style of that build. The 3-link "oyster," just matches the theme of it so well. I'm looking forward to the next one. I'm fairly new to "modding," so I'm not fully aware of the part available, in the market today. I would LOVE to see a Grand Seiko, SLGH005, "White Birch," style build. That would be my dream mod. Come to think of it, I might have to check into that. Thanks again, and keep up the good work

    Looks like water film transfer. It’s pretty good but it’s a sheet with the graphics applied kinda like model car decals but much more advanced.

    I am interested to know how you filed the shark logo from the case back. I have a Heimdallr MM300 titanium case and back on the way. I've already ordered a SEIKO dial for it. I don't know how hard it will be to file the shark from the titanium case back, but I guess I'll find out. I really like your mods.

    • @ItsAnotherWatch
      @ItsAnotherWatch  Před rokem

      It was fairly simple, I just put masking tape around the areas that I wanted to protect, took several minutes to get it since I used a craft knife to cut the center circle out of it, and then slowly sanded the logo down until it was as flat as I could make it, and then used a metal polishing cloth (cape cod metal polishing cloth) and polished it until it was smooth.
