    Do yourself a favor and get the pink rosin paper from home depot. Cover your floors with it. This will keep the floor from minor scratches and easy to sweep without going into the cracks of the floor! It really works well!
    Nice work as always....you are an inspiration!

      Those rolls of cardboard can be reused in the garden as sheet mulch to keep moisture in and weeds out! I did that this year and I've spent about 30 seconds on weeds all season. Just swimming in vegetables!

    Kitchen came out great man. Cant wait to see the counters and appliances go in. I was looking at the quality of my semi custom Craft Maid cabinets, and it is so disappointing now that I know what to look for. Never again. Looks like the light situation was tough today. If you get a big light off screen and shine it up at the ceiling that should help.

      Yeah I gotta invest in some lights and learn the camera. I overexposed all these clips and this is me saving them.

    Quick question: it seems like it would be easier to stain the cabinets BEFORE you install them, so I’m assuming I’m missing something since you do it after. Why is it better to do it afterwards? Thx for all you do!!

    Where did you learn everything? I want my son to know how to do, at least, basic home repairs. His father isn't in the picture and isn't very handy anyhow. So I guess my question is where would a boy learn these things?

    • @MigraineCraftsman
      @MigraineCraftsman  Před 4 lety +5

      I learned by watching my house get built and managing the process(Never built a house before back then)
      After that I visited libraries, bought some books and watched a LOT of youtube videos.
      I always recommend to buy some basic tools(pawn shops = cheap)
      Go to home depot or lowes get some lumber and practice, you can spend a $100 in lumber but you will learn a lot by the hands on method. That way you can get a feel for things if you enjoy doing this kind of thing.

    whats your suggestion for finding good quality tradesman to do work at affordable prices? Do you have a method you could share for doing this?

    • @MigraineCraftsman
      @MigraineCraftsman  Před 4 lety +2

      Chamber of commerce or your local churches or word of mouth from local realtors. When it all fails sometimes you just gotta do it yourself.

  • @kentullis25

    You were careful not to scratch your floor moving your cabinets or get any stain on it but you tossed your hammer in the air at 1:33, let it do a somersault and caught it over your floor! Had you missed it you would have put a serious dent in your new flooring! Not very careful of you.
    How's TV reception in your area and is there any good internet available? Do you pre-wire for cable or external antenna?

  • @nancyfryhover

    I really like those cabinets from lowes and home depot. They work great. You can finish how you want. How wasteful to spend high amounts for cabinets, thats just my opinion.

      Agreed, I would rather save the money and buy Granite countertops and that is exactly what I did btw. I'll show the granite and price in a episode or two. ( I ended up getting granite for the bathrooms as well)
