Three-year-old McKenzy thought she'd lost her beloved stuffed giraffe forever. When she found him, her reaction surprised everyone. Steve Hartman reports "On the Road."
I'm a 41 year old man. I have tucked away in a small pet carrier a stuffed dog I named Vicki when I was 3 in 1978. I remember my mother picking me up and telling me to choose any toy I wanted from the top shelf. I grabbed that dog. My grandmother stitched it together off and on for years. I painted the eyes back on. I even started stitching parts of it back together myself after my Grandmother passed years ago. It's actually in decent shape now. It even survived a flooded basement about 10 years ago. I dried it out, put it in a safe place and always know where this silly old toy is to this day. I've had this stuffed dog for 38 years. I showed it to someone and they said I should see if it's worth anything online. This stuffed dog is worth more to me than money.
Thank you so very much for sharing your story! Reading it made me tear up with more "happy tears". *p.s. my stuffed animal was a koala named Charles I had since birth but no longer have. Around the age of 5 or 6 I gave it to another little girl that lived in my neighborhood. Her home burned down with everything and every toy she had. I still miss that silly thing but the memory of my little friends face made giving him away so very worth it. :) *
I just cried like a 3 year old! My daughter was like that with her toy dog, she named, Doggy". It was always tucked under her arm! Yesterday, she turned 25. She's no longer the toddler, who needed Doggy 24/7. But, he still lives. He resides in my granddaughter's toybox!
Out of every one of Steve's segments, this is my favorite. I tear up every time. There is so much innocence in questioning an undiscovered emotion and then being told "this is exactly how you should feel right now" is so touching to me.
I love this! I put it at the top of my CZcams "Acts of Kindness and Inspiration" playlist. When I was little I had a stuffed Micky Mouse and a stuffed Rabbit (Not a real rabbit skinned and stuffed but a toy!) In my 60's I still have Micky though I pulled of his ears long ago. It's comforting to know that he's still around. But in the 70's Mr. Rabbit started to fall apart and I made the horrible mistake of throwing him away. I realize now that probably he could have been repaired. I must have thought that they were both real because when I got a spanking or something else bad happened, I would go in my room and cry and tell them all about it. I can't wait to watch this video again.
I saw true tears of joy for the first time what I was very little. My grandmama, who had alzheimer's, remembered who she was for the very last time. I saw my Grandpopa crying, but didn't understand why because everyone else was sming and happy. I asked him why he was crying, and he told me they were tears of joy. I had only seen them movies before then. It had been so long since she had come back, and the very first time in front of me. The doctors thought she was too far gone to remember anything again. But she did, and I got to be there for that miracle.
I have this old Purple puppy from birth. It's been my soulmate throughout my life.I said while I was younger "When I growz up,I will bring puppy to college!",and my stuffed puppy, will always be with me. When i'm old, when i'm young, and when i'm dying I promised to have it ♥
I had two stuffed animals that I received as a newborn, as soon as I could speak I named them Nee Nee and Doo Doo (I know I know! 😂). I loved them so much but the stupid moving men accidentally placed them in the trash when my family last moved. 😭
I'm saving my first happy tears for when the Phoenix suns finally win an NBA championship, Ive been waiting 27 years , hopefully it happens sooner rather then later .
I loved my stuffed animals when I was little. I used to line them up on my bed and pretend they were a choir and I was teaching them how to sing. I wasn't very creative with the names, there was Bun-bun the bunny, and Pink Hippo the pink hippopotamus. But my most precious stuffed animals were LaLa the Teletubby and Kitty the stuffed cat my Aunt gave me because she matched my real cat April. In my mind LaLa and Kitty were best friends. Lots of things have changed in my life, but in my mind LaLa and Kitty are still best friends.
How can people thumb down this.... I'm 55 now...I had a small Tiger doll, I called it Tigger. Kept it until my dog chewed it up 6 years ago...I collected the remains, when to the bathroom and cried.....I still have it in a box...Please don't tell my wife... ;-)
I have a stuffed dog named barney that my dad had when he was a kid and gave it to me when I was born. I don't know what I'd do if something ever happened to him. I would mourn him like the loss of a loved one.
Who turned on the water works?! That little girl is so precious!! I never got how kids loved stuffed animals until I had my 3rd child. Shes 15 now and she still has all her stuff animals that all have names. Her favorite one is a crocodile she calls crocky. She still takes it with us when we go on trips.
"Wh-Why are my eyes watering?!" OH MY GOSH THAT IS SO ADORABLE.
Watching these wholesome videos is what's keeping me sane these days.

Same here. Her little voice box doesn't work so well anymore, but if I ever lost her I'm not sure how I would actually cope.

Some people just aren't emotional enough, don't have that emotional range. It's more about being moved/touched than being happy though.
I had a bear like this and we lost it as well, we even went to the police station 😂😂
Awwwwe... I'm so sorry. I know how it feels to lose SOmethin so dear to you

Aww when I was born, I got a stuffed animal dog. She stayed in my bed my entire childhood, and I still have her today. This really warms my heart.

True! We all need more of Steve Hartman, in this dangerously divided world. God bless you Mr Hartman from India.
Never grow up little girl, please. This world needs your innocence
@2:25 Life is good when Raffy is by your side and you have a box of Nerds candy.

Yes, Steve Hartman... "Surrendering to this quirky human trait" is what happens every time I watch your stories. You owe me a truckload of Kleenex!!

I have a stuffed dog named barney that my dad had when he was a kid and gave it to me when I was born. I don't know what I'd do if something ever happened to him. I would mourn him like the loss of a loved one.
