This is what I've loved about drum corps for 50+ years. The brass sound has just continued to get better and more beautiful. You'll hear guys my age talking about how it isn't the same without our old single valve G bugles, and it shouldn't be a drum corps any more, but this is the sound I could always hear in my head, and even in the 60s I could hear this when guys like Martin, Swan, Dorritie, Simpson, Hightower, Chalmus et al. picked up their primitive bugles and made incredible sounds. I always thought that we'd get to this. I was fortunate enough to work with some great lines at Bayonne and Boston and we made this happen at times, although the instruments hadn't been upgraded yet, and we had a total of two, or even sometimes one instructor for the section. Listening to these young people makes me feel the connection all the way back to when I started in 1960 on an old Getzen one valve and "slip slide" baritone. (I still have it, and toot on it once in a while, just to remind me how friggin good my trombone is). Nice work Bloo. Good to remember where you came from. Can't wait to see you at DCI East this year. Gotta check to see if you get near Boston. Keeping it pure and beautiful there, guys (and of course girls). You kids rock.

This is awesome but if I heard this in person I’d possibly cry, hearing music from a band in person is such a different experience
I teared up watching this video, was not expecting this performance to sound so lush and beautiful.
Dang.. six words 🍁💙
I've heard them say that, but what are they actually talking about?
@@sparklymop better ingredients, better pizza, Papa Johns.
@@sparklymop put the toilet seat back down
@@sparklymop I’m just as confused as you are
@@sparklymop the new six words is "No blue, no coats, all progressive." :p
Sitting here wide eyed, with every single hair on my body standing straight up! SO beautiful! Cheers, from South Africa!
As corps songs go, this is one of my favorites. Looking forward to hearing this in person some day.
Jonas killing it like usual! Congrats on a great age out!
Thank you for your kind words! :))
No doubt he is so good. His tone is perfect, but I thought the show soloist got to play the solo for Autumn leaves?
@@domingoornelas3428 the soloist from 1987? Pretty sure he's not marching anymore lol
