  • Hello CZcamsrs . Sigma Art lenses are getting popular day by day. But are they any good or not???? I am a big fan of Sigma lenses . Also let`s not forget that this year there is some great news for Sony users . Sigma will release some more lenses for e mount full frame cameras like the new Sony a7 III or Sony a7R III . According to Sony rumors website It is now confirmed ! Along with Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens for Sony E-mount full frame mirrorless cameras, Sigma will also announce another 8 full frame E-mount lenses soon for the upcoming CP+ Show, here is the list of new lenses below:
Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG MACRO Art Lens
Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens
It looks like these full frame E-mount lenses will have same optical design as Canon/Nikon DSLR mount lenses, just add a “built-in” adapter from Canon/Nikon mount lenses. It is really interesting and exciting news for Sony users . Back in the film days I shot quite a lot with a Sigma 28-70mm f2.8-4 for Minolta MC and took some of my favorite shots with it... no complaints.

    Hello Atila.
A BIG thank to you for this video. For Real.
I don't think that people are ignorant but as you said they just didn't try the gear and they dare talking about it.
I myself wanted to make a similar video to talk about Sony A7iii because everybody is praising for example the EVF which is the same as in Sony A77 version 1. But when those Sony A77v and then after A77ii where reviewed everybody hated there EVF which is now in emount and wahooo now it's awesome...errrr... Come On.
Same thing for eyeAF available on A77ii: it was stupid useless gadgetry and once in an e-mount ML is something one could not live without. Hey it's the very same gadgetry guys....
Concerning Sigma and Tamron they are now on par with zeiss lenses for sure. The thing with Sony is that Sony wants to be sure that its customers will buy Sony or SonyZeiss by crippling or bugging the body if you buy some 3rd party lenses. That's the way Sony is doing and I am very well placed to know it since a few years.
Thank you again for your message, I totally agree with you that if savings can be done better to keep money and slowdown on GAS.

I like the Sigma DC (crop) lens Sigma 18-35mm and 50-100mm. They used "Black Magic" on the development!~ My first lens was the Sigma 18-35mm!~But I must say the opto-mechanics design of the Zeiss/Canon/Nikon is better....

Zack Choy yes it is better with double price point. These lenses get better and better with every new release. They are unstoppable already. 😂😂😂

The new Tamron lenses are no slouch either. I purchased the recently released Tamron 100-400mm F/4.5-6.3 FX zoom. I tested this lens against several Nikon FX and DX variable aperture zooms and it was noticeability sharper than the Nikon's with very little focus breathing. This Tamron is a beautiful lens and affordable!

Stan Obert yes they are really good. Tamron is winning on the zoom category and Sigma is winning on the fast primes category. 😁😁😁

    Sir,
    I'm from India, I had a nikon D700, recently upgraded with D750.
D700 had circular eyepiece viewfinder, i loved it, but D750 has rectangular eyepiece viewfinder that's i very dislike.
After many Recherche in internet i found a Nikon adapter (DK-22) & i bought it from Amazon.in
But confused which eyepiece fit on DK-22 adapter, DK-17 or DK- 17A or DK- 17C or DK- 17F or any other.
So, Please tell me the perfect matching eyepiece model No.
    And where to buy it.

Own both with Nikon D500. For me, build quality and IQ, are close enough to the ‘big hitter’ lenses, to be the best bang for the buck, on the market. To think one can get either of these lenses for under a grand on the used market, really makes purchasing these lenses a no-brainer. Heavy, yes. No stabilization, yes. However; with proper application of camera settings for a particular photo op, the results from these lenses are stellar.

Rick Danuser absolutely true. That's why I am a big fan of Sigma and Tamron. 👍👍👍

The days of Sigma and Tamron being the poor cousin's of OEM glass are now well gone in my opinion. I can't comment specifically on Sigmas Art lenses because I've never owned any but it's clear they are popular for a reason. I'm a big fan of Tamrons lenses of late and have added a few to my kit despite being in the "stick to OEM only"camp previously. 😊
