- A good friend of Collin’s from Ohio picked up a brand-new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and brought it out to 3D Off-Road for some upgrades. DJ turned to Built2Wander to help devise a plan to add some serious off-road capability to his Jeep Truck without compromising on-road performance since this Gladiator will be his daily driver. We convinced DJ to head out to Moab, Utah for the annual Easter Jeep Safari with us after building his truck so that we could show him the ropes of rock-crawling and get him comfortable with the limits of his new Jeep Gladiator on 37” Nitto Trail Grapplers.

In this episode, we highlight all of the components that went into DJ’s Jeep Gladiator Rubicon build, including a 3.5” RockJock 4x4 Suspension System, Bilstein 8100 series Bypass Shocks, 17” KMC Beadlock Wheels, and 37” Nitto Tire Trail Grapplers. The goal was allow DJ to conquer some of the more technical off-road trails in Moab, UT and comfortably drive across the country back to Ohio with zero concern for failures. Our trip to Moab for Easter Jeep Safari turned out to be exactly what DJ needed to learn the ropes off-road and the limits of his new Jeep JT build on 37s!

Hands-down, one of the best builds ever. You’ve inspired me to add NITTO 37”s on my jeep and the Apex valves. I went with the EVO lift kit since my jeep will be mainly used off-road. Thank you so much for this amazing video!
I bought a 22 Gladiator Rubicon a few months ago, this is about what I am aiming for down the road. I will check into the Rock Jock suspension.
I just bought this exact Jeep Gladiator except mine is a 2021. Also have the EcoDiesel and love it. I will be building mine a little slower but yiu have given me ideas on the build. Great job.
That’s a great build…. I love the color of your Gladiator
Thank you 🙏
Awesome Gents!!! 👊🙏🇺🇸
Badass Gladiator!!!
What a beast of a Ute
Great looking rig 🤙🏻
Thanks!
This was a really fun build!
@AL Rubio absolutely! Send us a message on Instagram or Facebook.
nice I have a pretty similar build. its as good return for the money imo. 37s, beadlocks, triple bypass suspension, air bumps, stage 2 tune on JTRD
Good times!
Great times!
Nice rig! 👍🏻
Thank you!
The trail grappler does hydro plane in the rain I had 35s on my jk. I have a jl now ill be getting the recon grapplers
Love it. Too bad there's no place around NJ to enjoy 4 wheeling anymore 😕
Great looking rig. What does that cost approximately? Wheels and suspension. I’m looking at getting a gladiator.
Did you change out the gears?
Not finding those wheels with the all black treatment, did those have to be powder-coated: the bead lock rim thing, the ones i am seeing have it as silver...i prefer the look here though
Not a fan of 3.5 back space to far Away which scrub radius is terrible but also wears a 44 axle ends , but I know it was done for ease of a quick build with fenders in mind plus a lot of other. It I would not recommend long term use unless babied
What a beautiful truck. And it's an ecoDiesel Rubicon. What more can you ask for. It probably cost you a lot.
Really nice jeep!!! Question what gears is it running?
I'm doing 37's on my gladiator rubicon but do you need to change the gears?...nice build I'm doing 3.5 rc with black rhino Abrams.
Great video! Curious did the new sway bar system work with the ESD or did you delete it?
I believe you have to delete it when installing the anti rock sway bar
I’m wanting the same with my 2021 gladiator rubicon. Would it be possible to send me a list of parts and price parts/ kits excluding tires n rims
To what extent can I lift and install bigger tires in the Gladiator without modifying any other things.
So, I wonder what the cost of the build was ? I was thinking of getting a jeep gladiator rubricon for off roading and hunting and need it as my daily driver as well.
I love watching videos like these. It really helps when visualizing your own dream jeep. I just wish more folks would include costs. How much $$ is all in on that final build?
I agree. Considering he is wearing a finance company jacket I’m guessing he works in finance and makes pretty good money. I bet there’s at least $20k into this build plus the cost of the Gladiator Rubicon
New sub! Liked 🙏👍🌙☀️😊
Awesome build. Can you give me an idea of the cost associated with it? Thank you.
With the diesel and 37’s do you need to regear?
You said 3.5" offset, but I think you meant backspacing.... At that backspacing... I think that is -30mm of offset? Doesn't that put a lot of stress on the axles/balljoints? I love the look, but I worry about undue stress (i'm currently building mine....trying to decide on wheel offset).
Just bought a 23 gladiator ED. I wouldn’t mind doing the same thing to mine. What would I be at price for lift and tires. Also my DD. Tia
Nice looking gladiator! Whats the fuel economy with the 37s?
Guys i got a question. So I have a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Sport S with an ecodiesel motor. I have a 2" mopar lift kit on it and i have installed rubicon fenders so i have more space between the wheen and the fender to allow me to put bigger wheels.
Question is because my jeep is not a rubicon and doesn't have the same gearing, what would i need to do to run 37" wheels? I really dont want 35's. If anyone knows, please let me know.
@Built2Wander,
So you didn't upgrade any of the axle components & it did ok on the trails? I'm asking because I want to some of the same things with my gladiator but don't have thousands to spend on upgrades, Thanks.
Could you please break down the rims specs for me ? Thanks
Where is it on the website? Thanks
Did you do different gears?
Hey what width are the wheels?
Did you have to regear?
I love it. But are you able to mount the spare underneath? I've heard some people say a 37 will fit there but need proof. There's no way I could lose my bed. That was the whole reason I got the gladiator
I believe 37’s will fit under the truck bed but it has to be aired down to fit… I saw a video on this awhile back…
Clayton Off Road makes a rear track bar with a kink in it that clears a 37" tire. That's what I did.
Which bumper is that
May i know which color this one pls, thank u
where in colorado are u guys based out of?
Im from Cincy (Hyde Park) & Graduated from tOSU. Id love to have you upgrade my diesel JT
What ratio did you regear to?
We’d love to do it! Go buckeyes. 🙌🏻 we haven’t even regeared this one but ultimately may go to 4.88s
@@Built2Wander can I reach out to you directly? If so how? Go Bucks
@@mattbrew11 yep shoot us an email via our website!
no re gear?
What do you use to secure your spare tire? I want to just place it in my bed like you.
Love the build and the video. I have a 2021 JL Rubicon that’s been bone stock for a year now. I’m struggling with doing a lift and tires due to our current gas prices and circling down the drain economy. Our gas prices are going to be up even more! Does anyone else have these same concerns?
Thanks for the positive feedback & for taking the time to watch! This was a concern of DJs as well and the reason we stuck with 37” tires. His Diesel Gladiator was averaging roughly 20MPGs after the build was complete and that was before doing gears, which we anticipate will help improve that number.
@@Built2Wander Not bad…my 3.6L E-torque is getting 20-21 mpg stock! Lol
@@DUNEATV that’s hard to beat!
I have 39” KM3s on my diesel JT and it still gets 23-24 mpg at 70mph. Tires about the same weight as these but i chose a lighter weight bead grip method wheel on purpose
I’m about to take delivery of a ford lightning for DD duties but even if I wasn’t fuel cost isn’t a huge thing imo
If you are worried about gas prices the jeep isn’t for you mate, get a prius, in first place a jeep is shaped like a brick and tall as heck, sooo
Did he regear?
Going to 37s you didnt bother to regear from the 4.10 to 4.56 or 4.88?
No you don’t have to
@@joshuahcampolito4091 But isn't that going to rob you of torque and power? I have a Willys w/ 3.73s and 32" tires. I don't think I could go above 35" tires without a gear change. But if I wanted to go above 4.10:1 for 37s I would need a new carrier too.
Are you guys sponsored by Nitto?
So 37’s … they’re pretty much standard then
what color is that Gladiator?
Sting Gray
Sting Gray 👌🏻
Why are you yelling at us?
Should have bought a Manuel, then it would be perfect…..😉
Personal choice but it’s much easier to wheel with the automatic, plus there are 2 more gears. And it’s the world’s best automatic, the manual has a not so great reputation.
@JeepCherokeeful actually a recall fixed that in earlier models. But yes it's difficult to offroad in a manual. But drop the top and wind through the gears, plus offroad? Can't lose
Exaclt6 manuals are one reliable, more control, autos cab start feeling the tranby slip, game over
