      For fire code

    • @talkingben3814
      @talkingben3814 Před 3 lety +1

      It’s to protect the roof trusses in a fire. Double layer 5/8 drywall is very heavy two layers is about 4.5 pounds Per foot.

    Why aren't you using the new lift? I'm interested in seeing how it works.

    • @NomadicINK
      @NomadicINK  Před 5 lety +1

      I bought that one for anything over 11 foot. But it's up so damn High but I can't use it unless I need it. So unless I'm doing anything with the ceiling above 11 foot I'll break it out.

    Hey James! I want to get my foot in the door when it comes to hanging drywall but it sucks because all these companies want at least 2 years experience. What do you recommend a novice like me to do? Thanks man

    lol, alot grinding coming form other rooms, does the drywall supply place load your rooms?

  • @greggeryssolarpower8520

    I'm using that same drywall lift for solar panels. I have the same concerns and more about the design. Have you found a better one?

    How high are the hooks off the floor when you load the sheet?

  • @craigfinno551
    @craigfinno551 Před 5 lety +1

    Do they require first layer to be completely screwed off

    • @NomadicINK
      @NomadicINK  Před 5 lety +1

      In some apartment complexes yes still have a inspection after the first layer then they'll fire mutt it and then we can do a second layer button regular residential homes you just have to put the first layer up second is what gets screwed off 2 code

    What happened to the yellow lift? Does Swifty Lifty need new brake shoes? I see your wedge your hammer in to keep tension.

    • @NomadicINK
      @NomadicINK  Před 5 lety

      Yeah the brake doesn't work any more. The yellow ones so high up I'll probably only use it for anything over 11 ft. That's swiftys limit . the yellow goes to 16ft? That's Probaly why it starts out higher off the ground

    • @NomadicINK
      @NomadicINK  Před 5 lety +1

      I don't use the lift for Speed. I'll agree with you picking the sheet up is a hell of a lot faster then put it on the lift cranking it up and put it in place. Maybe I'll make a video on why I used the lift and the pluses and minuses of using the lift
