She is not racist as far as I have seen, racist is a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another. That is not Lea she doesnt see a race superior from another she probably can have narcissist personality disorder, which is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others.
I think the Hailee Steinfeld thing sums her up perfectly. She was completely dismissive of anyone she saw as "beneath" her, but the second she realised Hailee had become famous she chased her down to make friends with her. If I were Hailee I would have given her the same treatment.
@ casualobserver2000 I used to love Glee back in the day. But I absolutely regret being a fan of Lea her character Rachel. It’s truly sad how Rachel and Lea have an awful lot in common. She’s a good singer but nasty person. I prefer the other actors on Glee. Like Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, etc.
She is very insecure and it comes across as nasty and snobbish to the cast and other staff. She has to outgrow her insecurities in order for her to improve. Wish her well in her endeavors and in life.
I'll tell you why I don't think she's a racist in two words: Dianna Agron. The whitest of women and yet the person who everyone always knew she had problems with on Glee. It was Dianna even before Naya. Plus more cast members have since come forward with the message "She's a bitch, yes, not a racist one though"

My best friend did 2 episodes as a guest star on Glee in season 5. both times she was in scenes with Lea Michele. When I asked how it went after the appearance, she responded "it was weird, I have never worked on a show (she has an extensive resume back to the 1980s) where the lead was so rude. I never saw her in rehearsals, her part was done by her stand-in, and when it came to shooting, she simply walked on set and did her part, she was great, but never introduced herself to anyone or said a word to the other actor's on the set. When the scene was completed, she left without saying anything to her guest stars" This is very unusual as it is the industry standard to acknowledge and at least say hello, nice to be working with you or something like that to guest stars, but being a Diva, she acted like they were beneath her. When my friend was asked to do another appearance a few weeks later, she said yes, of course, it's good work. Lea did not disappoint and it went exactly the same way as it did the first time, no acknowledgment, no rehearsal appearance, no hello or even a fuck you. This shows her deep her lack of character in my opinion, and she needs to grow the fuck up and treat people like they exist.
It's gonna sound like I'll defending her, but oh well. I can believe that actually happened but all I'll say is that in season 5, she was still heavily grieving the death of her boyfriend and costar and was apparently dealing with depression. So it's possible that could have influenced her attitude and mind set, do my scene and then bolt.
I worked on Glee as a featured extra for one day... I never saw the show before that, I had no idea who she was. My introduction to her was in a hall way scene where she was screaming at the crew, the extras, just every one, treating everybody so comically awful, I thought she was kidding. Everybody who worked there regularly was completely used to it. They just shrugged and said, "that's Lea and that's how she is, don't go near her she's just a terrible person." It was just common knowledge. She may very well be one of the most unhappy people I've ever seen. The rest of the cast, crew, and the other extras were really cool though. Buuuuuut, they all walked on egg shells for Lea.
So, because she was talented and the main character they let her do that? That’s fucking awful. I’m sure a lot of people would have been fine with her being fired.

When WOC sound the alarm they are perceived as trying to rock the boat instead of grinning and taking it. Naya was the first to expose Lea and still haven’t had any redemption in doing so. At least, she is co-signed all these years later.
I wonder if it's because people freaked out about her being supposedly racist after all an African American actress called her out and it made it sound like she is racist and everyone is being so overly sensitive at this time because the Black Lives Matter movement is going on.
Her behaviour screams insecurity. She's grown up being told she's the best and then when put up against someone with equal or more talent she becomes jealous and instantly turns into a bully. She's no diva, she hasn't earnt diva status, she's just a bully.
@ Amy Rick What’s embarrassing is the she wasn’t even a kid anymore during her time in Glee. She was like 23 when the show started, and around 28 when it ended. She was a grown adult acting like a middle schooler.

actually I liked watching the show for that reason. She wasn't the likeable character on the show, she wasn't everyones friend. I liked her on the show because she was the "talent" and treated everyone else a little bad because of that. I don't think anyone who watched Glee thought of her as just "one of the group". On Seinfeld Michael was the odd one out, didn't fit with the other 3, but he was extremely talented and did his part well. We all know how well the cast of the Avengers got along with Brie. Teri Hatcher on Desperate Housewives, and a dozen other celebrities we've heard tapes on, heard rumors about, like Bale, Stiller, Mariah, Mike Myers and many others that aren't fun to work with.
Yeah, actually.😂 Ryan, the guy that wrote the show, had her in mind when he wrote the character. She was one of the first to audition, too. She literally is Rachel.😂
She has more than one song. I think her Christmas album is the best (just released in 2019). Also, she has 3 albums, 3 tv shows, a couple movies and several Broadway plays under her belt. She is definitely a success.
My friend wen t to high school with her and said she was extremely arrogant, rude and mean. She also got preferential treatment from the teachers because she was a musical star at the point. I guess it's not very surprising that she may have become so self-absorbed if she's not used to hearing the word, "no." Another friend was a pharmacist in LA and used to see her when she came in. She said Lea was extremely rude to her and the other customers.
Wasn't her who complained everytime a character was getting a hype, she demanded the writers to take that hype down? Like why we never saw a development on good Quinn, or Quinn and Mercedes as friends, or forcing her as friend with Kurt, or Santana or Mercedes not getting spotlights?
The thing is, this didn't surprise me at ALL. I've been around bubbly sweet girls like this, they have the same big forced smile and they're sooooo nice to anyone they regard as a peer or those who could help them succeed but anyone they perceive as underneath them had better watch out. She’s probably sorry she got caught and is now getting backlash. A truly sorry person would apologize in a timely manner and directly to the person they hurt. A sincere apology doesn’t get put off for years after the world finds out about your shady behavior.
She’s not quite racist, bc she treats all other races EQUALLY HORRIBLE!

Well she is racist but ok
None of you know jer so you can't say if she is or not if fellow actors who have actually worked with her say she is then who are y'all to dismiss that?
She is not racist as far as I have seen, racist is a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another. That is not Lea she doesnt see a race superior from another she probably can have narcissist personality disorder, which is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others.

I used to love Glee back in the day. But I absolutely regret being a fan of Lea her character Rachel. It’s truly sad how Rachel and Lea have an awful lot in common. She’s a good singer but nasty person. I prefer the other actors on Glee. Like Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, etc.
Exactly, I don't think she's specially racist... I just think she's a bad person overall
Both are possible. its not exlcusive.
She is very insecure and it comes across as nasty and snobbish to the cast and other staff. She has to outgrow her insecurities in order for her to improve. Wish her well in her endeavors and in life.
Jentany i think they’re saying she’s not *only* racist.
Those allegations were years ago. I'm sure she's changed
I'll tell you why I don't think she's a racist in two words: Dianna Agron. The whitest of women and yet the person who everyone always knew she had problems with on Glee. When you first start your "apology" with "while I don't remember making the statement.." you're not actually sorry. That part was not needed or necessary to say your sorry. She's just trying to cover her ass to keep her innocent reputation.
It is okay to say "I don't remember making this statement" because it was years ago and she probably made many other ones. The apology reads genuine to me and looks like she is trying to grow.
@@kandragraham5769 Even if she genuinely doesn’t remember (which I highly doubt) including that statement was clearly a way to somewhat excuse the behavior. All that was needed was an apology. You know you said it, so why mention that you don’t remember, it has no relevance. If that makes sense

she was ryan murphy's favourite a hundred percent.
Wow thats crazy
Lea michele you really didn't think this through
who did your friend play?

Naya was going through her own stuff because she was abusing Big Sean and then the man she was with afterwards at that time
When WOC sound the alarm they are perceived as trying to rock the boat instead of grinning and taking it. Naya was the first to expose Lea and still haven’t had any redemption in doing so. At least, she is co-signed all these years later.
people assumed she was jealous.
Keri Elise she never abused Sean tf and it was her ex husband Ryan, but people say he made it up to get custody but idk about that one.

What’s embarrassing is the she wasn’t even a kid anymore during her time in Glee. She was like 23 when the show started, and around 28 when it ended. She was a grown adult acting like a middle schooler.
It's interesting that no one has called out Ryan Murphy. He had to have been aware of her behavior, and if she did indeed have people fired, she must have felt empowered by Murphy.
It's also worth noting that she's the only Glee alum he employed again after Glee wrapped.

And everybody called Naya Rivera crazy and bitter for outting her years ago
Yessss like naya was telling the truth
Um Naya was also put in Jail for domestic violence sooooo
Lara Martimez tf that gotta do with THIS? Is what I need to understand. What about you, sis? What did you do so we bring YOUR shit up to discredit anything else you say.
@@cherisedavidson5933 I think the person was just saying maybe they called her crazy for that reason mostly instead. Maybe she isn't the best person to glorify(?)(idk the word) in this situation cause she isn't the best person out there either.
Why is Ellen Degenres actually Sue Sylvester in real life
Wheezing! 😩😂💀
That’s disrespectful to our Queen SUE😭😭
at least sue is actually funny lmaooo
LMAO don’t diss sue like that
Sue is true to herself and doesnt live a double life 😂
The only thing to really say is that I hope she raises that child to treat people better than she did.
She really reminds me of a girl in middle school that decided she just didn't like me. I was literally a shy ass girl minding my own business lol funny thing is once we got to high school I stopped having classes with her and then fb became popular in my school and she sent me a friend request lol I was so confused she kinda looks like lea too
Looks more like a class problem than race. She's rude to people she feel aren't as famous or rich as her
I don't know if she's explicitly racist but using a microaggression like that to Samantha a black woman (that she would shit in her wig) is preeeeeetty sketchy to me
Elizabeth F. She could’ve said that to anyone who was wearing a wig. She is narcissist that’s all
@@melaniechiriacescu7876 of course she's a narcissist. I only suggested that because she's using a known microaggression towards a black woman she might not be Racist racist but she definitely knew what she was saying. Of course no one could ever really know because we don't know the context of the situation
@@ahotmess7828 I believe it was a racist insult that didn't necessarily stem from her being racist but rather her being a hateful person in general.
Honestly I’ve seen interviews of her from when she was a literal child on broadway and she acted the same way. It’s the way she was raised, she entitled and thinks she’s hot shit.
i always got stuck up theatre kid vibes from her
She seems like the one who gatekeeps theatre and her only personality trait is being a soprano
Her Spring Awakening understudies are telling stories about how she would throw parties at the hamptons and turn them away because “real cast only”
@jaquari · Sharpay just wanted control and to remain in the spotlight. Looking back she wasn't that bad of character.
Janelle Northcut and andlegit helped Tory with college and stuff so .
RIGHT
I think to say that ALL celebrities are “fucked up” is a completely inaccurate generalization of people with fame. There are A LOT of really cool, really genuine, and really kind celebrities too.
Despite loving musical theatre, I never got into Glee because there was something about Lea Michele that always rubbed me the wrong way. I remember thinking that she seems like she's not a nice person. I didn't have anything to back that up with at the time, but glad to see that sometimes your gut feelings are right.
You have great intuition. I was charmed by her talent and seeing a few interviews of her on TV.
actually I liked watching the show for that reason.
Me too!!!
Love how honest can call out people and still do it in a professional manor.
It’s spelled “manner” (not hating) ☺️ and I most definitely agree with you. 💖
IKR, that’s why his videos are so entertaining to watch.
Didn’t she get the role as Rachel because she basically was her? 😂
Yeah, actually.😂 Ryan, the guy that wrote the show, had her in mind when he wrote the character. She was one of the first to audition, too. She literally is Rachel.😂
@@JM-vr1br Wow, I had no idea! Good to know
she is success? i bet 80% people in here doesn’t even listen to her song
I'm a huge Gleek & never knew she released those CD's vids !!
Im big lea fan and knew about thr albums
MaryAnne Murray That’s embarrassing.
She has more than one song. I think her Christmas album is the best (just released in 2019). Also, she has 3 albums, 3 tv shows, a couple movies and several Broadway plays under her belt. She is definitely a success.
She has a song?
"To those people, you are very lucky"
The SHAAAADDDEEE
the way he started off the vid with "lea michele, failed popstar" i- 😭😭💀💀
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had to rewind a few times
its true tho
not to mention the girl who played Brittany on glee also said she was "very difficult to work with" & "treated everyone with disrespect"
and Mercedes' actress agreed
My friend wen t to high school with her and said she was extremely arrogant, rude and mean. She also got preferential treatment from the teachers because she was a musical star at the point. I guess it's not very surprising that she may have become so self-absorbed if she's not used to hearing the word, "no."
Another friend was a pharmacist in LA and used to see her when she came in. She said Lea was extremely rude to her and the other customers.
Naya really wrote this in her book but nobody listened
Everything I know about Glee I learned from that one Community episode.
“What the hell are Regionals?”
Lordddddd *opens hulu*
EXACTLY when they mentioned Glee club I was like "uh oh ."
Wait I thought this was regionals
Mr rad >>> will shuester
mr. rad killed his glee club and was STILL a better director than will schuester
The fact that Ryan Murphy still defends her... Is no one going to talk about how much of an enabler of vicious behavior he is?
He is a drama queen and gives gays a bad name.
Lol Ryan eats this jlcrap up he wrote Rachel's character specifically for Leah she's like his muse. Ehc
I mean the fact that Lea has tied her tv career to him for the most part doesn't help.
Ryan Murphy sucks up to anyone popular. Can’t believe he casted lady Gaga and he’s ABOUt to cast Ariana grande for a role in AHS
Dan Jun I will! He’s a hypocritical P.O.S
Wasn't her who complained everytime a character was getting a hype, she demanded the writers to take that hype down?
Like why we never saw a development on good Quinn, or Quinn and Mercedes as friends, or forcing her as friend with Kurt, or Santana or Mercedes not getting spotlights?
Plot twist: She's a method actor and hasn't told anyone and hasn't got out of her Rachel Barry role.
For anyone who saw her glee audition, this isn't surprising. She naturally is Rachel Berry in real life...
The thing is, this didn't surprise me at ALL. I've been around bubbly sweet girls like this, they have the same big forced smile and they're sooooo nice to anyone they regard as a peer or those who could help them succeed but anyone they perceive as underneath them had better watch out. She always reeked of that "spoiled theater girl" energy to me and I have avoided any of her work.
That’s funny, because you’re judging someone you literally don’t even know and going off comments she (may) have said YEARS ago!
I’m sure you have said or done something stupid you regret and I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate being held accountable for those words or actions for the rest of your life.
Jessica Jugs yeah okay
@@zerofuks416 Right ..Some of the comments I've seen here are so hateful & passive aggressive, am I supposed to read them & think "yeah Lea's the evil witch and this random person dragging her and getting so much satisfaction from it like it's their day job is probably an angel that never says anything bad about anyone ever" these cancel culture bandwagoners are such annoying self righteous hypocrites who act like they're holier than thou when dragging people on the Internet is literally all they ever do with their time, they've got nothing but time to talk shit about any & everybody online
@@zerofuks416 I think you are overreacting a bit. Everyone complaining about cancel culture seems to be forgetting that these people rarely stay down for long. Lea will be fine, she's a grown woman who doesn't need to be defended from the consequences of HER actions. This isn't a one off this is a notable pattern of behaviour and if she had actually grown from it her appology would have been completly different. People very rarely actually get cancelled, she'll go quiet for a while it will calm down and people will forgive and forget.
omg lea michele is gonna be a mother... SHES GONNA BE A KAREN😫😫😫
It’s crazy because she’s so gifted but so mean to everyone on show Glee. 😔😔
Shes always been known to be rude, she has no respect for others. She has some complex, but she isn't all that. Shes talented but she should stick to musicals/Broadway shows
I understand what you are saying but I would like to just say that being complex actually doesn't imply to her. She's just straight rude and disrespectful.
Funny enough she was blacklisted from broadway years ago for her diva behavior, a lot of understudies are coming out now saying how she would throw parties and post lists as to who was invited or not, or how the parties were for “real cast only”, or how she would bully her understudy even at 12 years old
@@lalaj9605 oh when I say "complex" I mean she has a complex, not that she is complex
@@susanalopez5052 I guess she cant be part of any space lol, what a rotten attitude to have. She needs to save her entitled tude for her own head🤦🏼♀️
The thing is, even Broadway doesn’t seem to want her back. She hasn’t been in a musical/play since 2008. Who would want to deal with her eight times a week?
She's not fooling anyone what that facade... Obviously just a mean girl.
I still stan her.
Fabiano Spencer not trying to be rude, just wanna know your opinion.. why?? It’s literally not just one person like Naya or something that just has a vendetta against Lea. Pretty much the entire cast has spoken out about her behavior. These types of traits usually stay with people, so has she _really_ changed?
I genuinely *loved* Lea when I was in high school. I loved glee and I desperately wanted to be like her. I had been in musical theatre for a few years and I even went to college in NYC for musical theatre for about 8 months. But I never had anything handed to me and I was definitely an understudy in the theatre world. I didn't get a lead role until my junior year of high school and I've had to fight for every single lead or good part. My theatre teacher literally made me battle other girls for parts. I was never a name thrown around for a part and as much as that sucked, it made me the hardworking person I am today. I don't expect anything. I work for what I want and that's exactly what I think screwed up Lea. She thinks she deserves the whole world and places herself on a pedestal. Yes she's talented, extremely talented, but she's not the only talented person in the world and I think that's what she doesn't understand. She needs a little humility. I still love her performance on Glee and I love her voice, but I don't worship her anymore
Basically Lea isn't racist, she is a terrible person to everyone equally .
I remember she did an interview with amber and Naya and they looked so annoyed and fed up with her
