Ian’s comment on cozying up during rainy rounds is 💯 true. Love watching these conditions on coverage
I do understand the comments that the release was slow (and it is), but I do see that they really listened to the comments regarding a score ticker on the bottom throughout (they did it), and went further by giving a field breakdown every three holes. Nice job on the two latter things. Jomez still rulz tho lol.
Seriously - love the coverage from both sources. Wish more sports made it so accessible, and that there was a closer course.

Ian had mentioned a couple of times that he thought some holes had been trimmed or "limbed." What had happened was a massive ice storm in February 2021 that wrecked trees all over the area and closed the park for months.

@@dirtycarl3461 You don't have go around defending their horrible release schedule. Free coverage is great, but if they can't release it in time so you can watch previous rounds, before the pay to watch live final starts it becomes somewhat pointless to watch them at all.

Great to see them playing in the woods, so many pro tour events have become distance contest in the open, disc golf is meant to be played in the trees!

Because we want the sport to grow, and post-produced isn't the way to do that. Jomez has their niche, but live coverage needs to be the focus moving forward

Both needs to be developed. Disc golf is perfect for post production. This is how it grew. Live coverage is nice to have sometimes, but I'm not ready to watch 4+hours of coverage every weekend.
Same with other sports. I almost never watch NBA games live, with exception of 1-2 playoff games maybe, the live game with all the breaks and shenanigans is just too annoying to watch for me.

It does suck, but they have a limited staff/team and they are putting out both the FPO and MPO. Its a lot to take on in one day.

Time for them to start paying more people to make it happen. If private companies can do it, the DGPT surely can.
Some of us like seeing how it played out, whenever we can see it, even if we're waiting a month, even if we watch the last round live.

I'm glad some people are content to watch this coverage whenever it comes out. I enjoy watching rounds from years ago myself even. It's pleasant. But isn't this a (long-time) up-and-coming American pro sport in the year 2022? Last year I was on the edge of my seat anticipating ESPN to start posting scores or a sentence or two even about tournament results any week now. This year that seems preposterous when the best we can get from one of the 20 biggest events of the year is 9 holes from just 4 players 30+ hours and counting after it's happened. Someone explain why this is the case.
They will be stunting the growth of the sport by years if they continue to do this.
USDGC is locked behind a pay wall. They mentioned how Paul McBeth won in dramatic fashion.. but who knows?! Not most people, only the disc golf community itself that can afford another monthly payment.

So I gotta I ask. Why doesn't GK Pro or Central Coast do their own coverages? They always seemed to get their stuff out at decent times and fairly quick. It's unfortunate to get round 1 after round 2 was already played. Some of us don't watch live. Just saying my thoughts.

A the 4:00 mark, loud bird starts chirping right when James putts and misses. James seems to say “bird got me”. Commentators missed that. Just saying it was not the elevation. Still great coverage! Love the slow motion rain tee shots!

Just played this course today and from the am tee's. These guys make it look too easy. its a long tough course.
nice looking course but I can't help noticing a large number of these tee-boxes are not pointed even remotely towards the basket like they should be

I respect the idea of live coverage but it's just not for me, thank you for providing this since Jomez, GK, CCDG and Gatekeeper aren't there. This is one of my favorite tournaments to watch and I wasn't sure I'd see it this year.
It basically was filmed by CCDG, Ian was there along with the crew they were all filming with CCDG jackets on, except for the live DGN guys.
Watching round 1 front 9 in all the rain, I wonder why more golfers don't use a Leather Chamois Cloth to keep the discs dry???

@@deeksip not at all i think free post production is the main reason this sport has grown the way it did this past two years and on top of that i think the fact you have to pay for the live coverage is also a major factor in why it never grew till this free post production coverage but thats only my opinion
@@joshbogard6740 100%. But at this point the CZcams post production companies are making deals to cover tournaments and DGPT is limiting access to events so their own post production can host. Our DGPT subscriptions should be a financial incentive for them to do better than companies purely funded on merch and advertising.

If you dont have all 18 ready for a release. Do NOT release the first 9. Its like a retailer. Dont promise a product in 7 days if you are not 100% sure you can offer that. Better to be honest and tell the customer that any day less than 14 is a bonus. Than they will be glad if you call them after 12 👍🏼🍻.

DGN/DGPT certainly aren't doing the sport any favors, if they're not outright hurting it, with the slim amount of coverage and rate at which it has been put out for much of this season. I just don't understand why the experience for the avid fan/viewer has taken such a huge step back this year. It's been very disappointing I'm sorry to say.

It was so cool to see the announcement that Sunday would have live coverage from Milo, but I'm not tuning in for that when it'll just spoil the results from the 1st couple rounds. Who wants Sunday coverage when they've only seen half of Friday? This just doesn't make sense from a business perspective either. You are completely missing the window to capture your audience. People watch sports DURING THE WEEKEND because its when they have free time. You are not just missing that with these poor practices, you will lose all the hype and momentum your video needs to launch well. On top of that it creates a terrible impression for other official PDGA media. You were making such progress with the improved graphics package too. Disappointing...

Agreed. I imagine its a lot of newer players that didn't experience the early years of disc golf coverage and just expect everything to be on par with other mainstream sports.
