I used to love my crock pot also. Once I got my instant pot I found myself using it more and more and the crock pot less and less. I love the delayed cook feature. I can put everything in before I leave for work and it's ready when I get home. My crock pot began collecting dust. Some nice lady is now using my crock pot that she bought at our yard sale. I prefer my vacuum blender over a traditional blender.
Also, these are just a few of my favorite, kitchen appliances.
    1. Tea Kettle (electric)
    2. Bamix (the best stick blender on earth) Always made in Switzerland, never China. And it does cost more than the others, but look up demos of the bamix being used. A lot of famous chefs use this stick blender because it really is the Rolls Royce of stick blenders.
    3. Air Fryer (I use this one as much as number four).
    4. Instant Pot (like you, mine gets used often. In fact, daily).
    5. Rice Cooker (yes, it only does one thing but it does it so well. And it makes GABA rice too).
    6. Pasta Machine
    7. Food Process that is Made in France. Yes, the French gave us the food processor, and while mine is pricey, it's cool to watch it slice bananas paper thin. I don't know of another food processor that can do this.

Of course I have been making masks, Doing sewing repairs and organizing, so my sewing machine and serger are high on my list.
I have been cooking and baking so much more and consequently blew up my 20 yr old Cuisinart Food Processor and my 25 year old Blender Kitchenetics machine. Based upon your advice (thanks) I just purchased a Vitamix, just like yours and I love it.
Anyway I needed this video because I am trying to decide if I need another food Processor or not. So far the Vitamix has done everything I could want. My old Kitchenetics machine does still mix my bread dough so maybe I will wait until it completely dies and then decide.

I just add one bag of pasta, 1 jar homemade sauce, 1 jar water and any WFPB veggie balls or veggies you want to add (roasted red peppers are fantastic!). I make all my grains in the instant pot. Rice is fantastic, Quinoa is not waterlogged like it is on the stove. I use 1 cup Quinoa to 1 cup water and cook for 1 minute. If you haven't tried oat groats they are a great substitute for brown rice or steel cut oats. To make oat groats 2 cups oat groats to 3 cups water for 5 minutes. Let the pressure come down naturally and then let the pot go warm and let it sit for 2 hours. I also cook dried beans, soups, stews, steamed spaghetti squash etc. We would starve without it LOL.

I think the IP will go up ur list when u start using it. I actually rarely cook on the stove since getting it lol . I cook all my beans and freeze in portions. I throw all sorts v ingredients ro make soups and casseroles. U can also sauté ur onions before u cook the rest of the food.
I now would like a griddle and just need to find the right one . And oh my, love the mixer with those attachements , especially the one for lasgna sheets. Am guessing that is quite expensive . Will be on my wish list .

I have the exact spice grinder and love it. But I find it difficult to clean between grinding different things. Any tips on cleaning it? I don’t want my breadcrumbs tasting the peppermint when I grind peppermint tea before grinding breadcrumbs.

It's funny that you guys ended with "will Peef blend" since this is a hallmark of Tom Dickson who created Blendtec high speed blenders. I did a lot of research before I got my Blendtech blender & Twister Jar. I was impressed with the design and reviews as well as the price. I decided against the Vitamix because of the blatant patent infringement against Blentech for which they lost the 24M law suit. The twister jar is fantastic for nut butters, vegan ice cream, hummus and any other type of thick concoction I want to try. I also love my Instant Pot. I make organic soy milk yogurt every week as well and grains, beans and potatoes.

@@MegOfBroccoli We cook our dry beans after soaking overnight in the IP for only 9 - 15 minutes, and they are perfectly cooked (no hard beans). We have found it to be a huge time saver.

    • @MegOfBroccoli
      @MegOfBroccoli Před 5 lety

@@mrbr549 That's great, but the time really isn't my only concern. And you also have to soak the beans first to get the 9 minutes, right? I don't soak and I come in at 1 hour 15 with perfectly cooked luscious beans with no hard beans. So if you don't soak beans, how long does it take? With that "natural release" shit, you're probably not looking at much less than 1:15. My other issues are that the things are ugly as fuck. Every time I see an IP sitting out at someone's house, I think, christ on crutches, put that monstrosity away, it has zero eye appeal. But you can leave a Creuset out on your countertop because of its appealing design, and cook lovely beans in it as well. I only have so much freezer space, I don't need a 20-quart monster machine (yeah I know they came out with a 3 quart or whatever, but it's a smaller version of ugly). I only have so much freezer space for cooked beans. I've been on a whole food plant based diet for 26 years and I don't own an IP, a rice cooker, a slow cooker (your oven is a "slow cooker" at 325), a Vitamix, a Nutribullet, an air fryer, a spiralizer, a Kitchen Aid mixer the size of my car, a waffle iron, or a food processor larger than a 4-cup and even that I'm thinking of donating because I prefer using my mandoline.

I have the Instapot, but mine is a newer style, which doesn't have a manual function and I hate it. I am looking at the Ninja Foodi, which people seem to like better. I haven't bought an air fryer yet and the Foodi can be used as that, too, so it is all good.
