How to cut perfect circles with a Plasma Cutter. Making a circle and radius cutting guide.

- How to cut perfect circles with a plasma cutter has never been easier with this little gadget. A circle and radius guide makes cutting any circle or radius easy. Simply adjust the guide to the size circle or radius you want to cut. Line up the centre point and off you go. This is much faster than making custom cutting templates for every circle or radius you need. A plasma cutter can cut steel and aluminium too which makes this a very versatile tool in the workshop. The circle and radius guide was simple to make and is even easier to use. I'd highly recommend getting or making one for yourself if you have a plasma cutter.

I would like to see a video about the treatment of your metal parts. I'm looking forward to learn what can be done at home. 👍
I'll put it on the to do list. Thanks. 👍
The voice-over style this video works well with the content.
Indeed it does, sound content with just the right hint of humour.
Thank you both. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos.
Another thumbs up for the cold blueing video
I'll put it on the to do list. Thanks. 👍
The more I see of these the more I’m thinking about getting a lathe. Great project.
Hi Carl. They are a great addition to the workshop. Worth doing some good research first though before you commit to spending a fairly big chunk of money. Good luck and thanks again for watching.
Brilliant tool, would love to see a video on the metal blackening.
I'll put it on the to do list. Thanks. 👍
Well, that's just bloody brilliant ... Thanks a lot. Like me, it's quite simple. I too would like to see your metal treatment vid. G'day from Western Australia.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I'll put the phosphating video on the list. Thanks for the support.
I also would like to see a treatment of your metal parts.
I'll put it on the to do list. Thanks. 👍
simple design to replicate - i still need to make one - thanks 👍😎👍
Thanks, it works pretty well. Dead simple to make as well.
If you loosen (or remake) the torch mount to allow it to rotate around the vertical axis, this will allow you to cut the entire circle at a time.
Good idea, I hadn't considered that. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
I would love to see a video about the treatment of your metal parts, heating them up with map gas and quenching is a pain!
I'm aiming to get it done for Saturday 25th of this month. Thanks for letting me know. 👍👍
If I only had a machine shop of my own
I think neodymium magnets in the bottom of the base would be a good addition, too. This would help to have a more stable setup.
Nice idea. I might just do that. Thanks.
You might want to add an adjustment post to the torch holder so you can hold the torch just off the surface you are cutting. This will increase the life of your plasma cutter tips considerably. Best Regards Sarah
Like it. That sounds like a great idea. Thanks for sharing. 👍
You can use a drag tip.
I'd rather like to see a video(s) on surface finishes/treatments, not just black phosphate. Everyone seems to stick to hot/cold bluing, or paint.
Cool, i'll put it on the to do list. I've always fancied getting into anodising. Did a pit of copper plating a few years ago as well. Maybe I should do a little series.
It would be awesome if you good share the treatment process! Hmm about the way the plasma cutter is attached, is there a way to allow the torch to rotate on itself?
Awesome video!
I'll put it on the to do list. Thanks. 👍
Regarding the torch. It can tilt back and forwards so you can direct the plasma into and away from the cutting direction due to the rotational freedom of the rose joint. It wont rotate in the holder though once it's tightened.
Hi, what do you do for a living? Something to do with engineering I presume 😁
I'd love to see how you do the black phosphate coating. Keep up the great work.
Hi Andrew.
I started out doing sheet metalwork and machining for an Aeroplane component manufacturer. Then spent a few years in factory automation and control. Then went back to school for few years to do a degree in Automotive Engineering. Then worked for an injection moulding company as a design engineer making bodywork for Jag/Landrover. Started a PhD.....Quit a PhD... I'm now a self employed engineer. However due to the whole global pandemic thing going on I don't really have any work so I'm working quite hard on the CZcams gig at the moment. Hopefully I can grow it into a full time thing. I think I almost broke even last month.... well providing you doing include my time.. hahaha
The phosphating video seems to be quite a popular idea, so i'll add it to the to do list.
Thanks for the continued support. 👍👍
