Habs fan Patrick Proteau had one shot to win $50,000 during the second intermission of Saturday's game against Detroit at the Bell Centre... and he made it.
Free Audio Books when you try to float it in, especially when done by an amateur, there’s a greater likelihood that the puck is not going to lie flat as it approaches the entrance. It will bounce, skip, or hop a bit, reducing the chances of it passing through.
About 20 years ago I was chosen as "fan of the game" at a university game to try to make a similar shot from the distant blue line. I was thrilled when I managed to hit the board
Canadians have universal health care, so they don't need $1M to feel happy and secure, that's just for the Americans who are in a constant state of anxiety.
The only losers in this is the insurance company. But think how many times you've seen this or, full court baskets, or 30 yard toss through a tire... The insurance company may have lost this night, but over all they're doing alright from all the other missed opportunities
I can barely hold a stick either my man. I played floor hockey for gym class yesterday, and the only thing I did was stopping every shot without a stick.
I know a man from timmins ON who won between 100 and 250 000 with one shot shot similar to this. This was back in the 90's in Vancouver. Gary Charbonneau. He won this money during intermission after being tapped on the back and offered the shot.
These kind of deals are covered by insurance.. I once saw a guy make the same shot for a car and won but insurance company fought the shot. I remember going onto the ice with the agent to measure the distance. He never got the car .
Rodger Hodgson it had to do with the application of the insurance and a 100 foot shoot was put down but the shot made was 87 feet. Red line- goal line is only 87. Red line to boards is 100
For all of my fellow english speakers out there what the French Canadian announcer is really saying is all the lines that Jackie Moon said when the dude made the impossible shot in Semi Pro
could someone tell me the dimensions of the puck and the gap it has to pass through? thank you....its the ultimate fairground sideshow game of zero chance.🏒🥅 not overly familiar with ice hockey, though I do watch it sometimes 👌👍
Hey! An official puck is 3" in diameter. In this contest, a fan takes three shots: Shot #1 is from the close blue line (64' from the goal line) and the hole is 24" wide. If the fan scores, they win a Molson fridge Shot #2 is from center ice (89' from the goal line) and the hole is 24" wide. If the fan scores, they win season tickets in the Coors Light Zone. Shot #3 is from the far blue line (114' from the goal line) and the hole is 3.5" wide. If the fans scores, they win $50,000. He scored from 114' away into a hole 0.5" wider than the puck. Pretty impressive!
BUT..if you put your lottery winnings in a savings account and you earn interest on that money, you have to pay taxes on that interest. But only on the interest.

To everyone saying "only got $20k after taxes". Canada doesn't tax lottery winnings. He took home all $50k.
It's about declaring it for next year taxes as revenu you made. Then its taxed. I think anyway
It doesn't work that way in Canada. Lottery winnings are not considered income. Winnings are tax free in Canada. Period.
