- Updates to what is happening over at Vintage Breaks. Both one of their breakers and the owner have scandals going on. Goldin voids the sale of a $54,000 Tom Brady RC card that was heavily altered from a PSA 6 to a PSA 8.

This channel is a gem in its self.. The hobby now, essentially a crapshoot. It's literally gambling in disguise. Collect what you like, but if you're chasing big cards, buying into breaks, PSA dealings etc. These are the consequences. Im glad this channel exists. He's looking out for everybody, not just the little guy.
Leighton is a used car salesman. He did a 1956 Topps PSA 7 set break for 82k total. I had a 56 Topps PSA 7/8’s set for sale and I was gonna let it go for 40k. Figured he would take it and make an easy 42k, but he rambled on for 10min and offered 28k. I just said no and hung up the phone. Look at the prices of the breaks they do. It’s highway robbery
Gilmore has been talking about undergoing one of those gastric bypass/sleeve procedures. If all goes well, he will go from being fat and dishonest to just being dishonest.

It appears that the first '81 Basketball pack had a wrapper that wasn't properly (re) sealed. Which, seems likely to be the reason that he swapped it out. Look closely at how loose that wrapper flap is and look even more closely as to how hard and fast he presses his thumb down on that wrapper flap before he hides the pack. These packs are suspect to having been opened, searched and resealed.

That was the most obvious pack swap I have ever seen... It went from being a pack centered heavy on the right... To suddenly a pack heavy on the left. And the first pack looked already opened!

If Leighton is the owner, that two weeks is a precursor to being fired. Leighton is going through too much sh*t to have to deal with that BS particularly if Chris didn't give a sh*t and still ripped him off.
Both PSA & Goldin know who submitted that trimmed Brady. Why are they covering up for him? I'm pretty sure there is nothing in the submission form that says they have to keep his identity secret if he sends them trimmed cards.
You could likely dig up some info on that submitter. I love to see a vid on your findings.

Chris Gilmore recieved a ton of hobby boxes from topps when he first started the freedom card board site and said he would review each product and broke everything on camera, didnt review them, and sold them all himself on ebay. He even sold 2 nick adenhardt autos who died and claimed he would never sell them out of respect. There were in a 2 card lot weeks later. i have plenty more stories on this pos gilmore even including him ruining the fcb brick and mortar store.

The thing that stands out & no one called him on it is the first pack he opened, didn't just open with that "fresh wax" pop...it literally tore a little, showing it was probably re-sealed! That was why it was switched! Bunch of off centered cards with a couple big name cards, but their worth is miminal being so O.C., yet that satisfies most customers....He knew exactly what he was doing. The other 2 packs opened normal & had much better centered cards....also can't believe his idiotic cronies still standing by him after all this, defending him, they're in denial they've been swindled before...

Never got into grading as Ive collected so I am sorry if this question is dumb . Does the serial # on the slab show the company which employee graded the card?
Show the company as in the grading company? I would suspect they maintain that data for internal purposes. Would they divulge that information? Almost assuredly not, as it would be a wild liability to the safety of their grader.

It was already opened! It just hadn't been re-sealed yet so he switched it out for one that had been. Watch him open it...it doesn't "pop" like a fresh unopened pack does, it rips several times. Clear sign that it was re-sealed

I wonder how long that will last there is a grading company that uses some type of computer scan or something other than a human to grade cards now, I'm not sure of the name off hand but the slabs I also saw from them looked really nice aswell I've only seen em' once or twice now I think they are a pretty new company.
Well HGA made that claim when they first came out that they used AI Technology. But that was quickly proven false. there's another new grader Forensic something. But for all I know they are HGA part 2!

I’ve got a serious question because I don’t quite understand. I come from the world of comic books where pressing and cleaning happens before the grading of books. Is pressing or cleaning the card looked down upon? Is the issue just that it was a 6 and now 8 and no mention was made of that? Just looking to understand. Thanks.
what's accepted in the comic world is majorly frowned upon in the card world.
Comics are different… it’s literally a decent size softcover book with pages. With cards, it’s not a thing. Look, some people carefully wipe down their cards before sending them in sometimes, but doing anything other than that is majorly frowned upon. People don’t want cleaned and pressed cards. People definitely don’t want trimmed cards.
