  • Rudolf Charousek could have been a world champion. Sadly, he died of tuberculosis at the age of just 26. Before he did, he had already established himself as one of the best players in the world. This correspondence game began in 1893 in the 1st-ever Hungarian Correspondence Championship. When it started, Charousek was nigh unknown. When it ended, he was a star.

    Can you make some videos on Vasily Smyslov? He's my favorite player and even though he was a world champion and had one of the longest active careers he seems to get overlooked by a lot of chess content creators on youtube :(

    Wouldn't Queen to C8 be checkmate in 14:10?

      No, pawn e6 blocks the check and is defended by the queen.
