    We changed the whole landscape of sports. EVERY parent had to sign a waiver that if they interfered with or abused a referee verbally their child would be banned from playing for a 12 month period. This stopped all the problems overnight.

    The ref had pulled the game up and was obviously reaching into her pocket to start handing out cards.
    She had taken control of it immediately. At that stage the players also stopped doing anything.
    Pity the parents couldn't show the same level of maturity as the kids.

    • @fireskycam9889
      @fireskycam9889 Před 3 lety +6

      @Caleb Berhanu Then you're obviously part of the problem.
      The ref handled it and there was no need for anyone to go onto the field.
      If the player is injured it is up to the coach to go and deal with it. Not a parent.

    • @fireskycam9889
      @fireskycam9889 Před 3 lety +3

      @Caleb Berhanu It is because of dumb parents like this guy that fights end up happening.
      The ref took control of it. This clown and anyone who wold do the same is an idiot.
      The guy that went onto the field checked on the kid, but was then going towards the other kid.
      That is a big no no. The only person who was looking to escalate hits was the parent who went onto the field.

    • @fireskycam9889
      @fireskycam9889 Před 3 lety +3

      @Caleb Berhanu If you watch it as he got to where the ref was, he didn't stop where the ref was. He kept walking. The ref started walking backwards to stay with him. Watch it closely.
      The guy that went out there was absolutely out of line. The ref had control of it. He had not even given her a chance to see what the outcome will be. If he did this in our country he'd be banned.

      Mark Oster How are you my comment is never to downtalk officials as I am one myself just to see what can be fine tuned or worked as i learn something every time in this game plus I show these videos to younger refs I mentor....
      You right but it seemed like he wasn't upset about that, he might have gone after the one player for just coming in late and possibly stepping on him.
      This whole incident could've been easily avoided, she could work on her game management (the parent she can't control but her management will prevent them acting the way that parent did). Her foul recognition looked off, I may be wrong but from late whistle seemed like she wasn't going to call the original clip by red player. Did she look over to AR to get a yes or no? She could work a little more on her whistle the tone says a lot in distinguishing severity of fouls. Lets players and parents both know you are attentive to the game and are aware of players behavior. Her nonchalant attitude with the late whislte and body language would have any parent thinking the ref just doesn't wanna be here, doesnt care, or their kids safety isn't in the best capable hands.
      I'm not trying to downtalk her at all because to get on that field takes guts with the way parents and coaches are nowadays. Sad how so many young refs are turned away by parents like this and you put that solely on assignors not matching up refs with their level of officiating. For those that have a serious shortage press on but if you are getting games that you know you can't handle this will more than likely occur.

    Something to remember for people commenting on the ref - she's a kid. Yup, could have done better, but she's in a learning experience just like the players. Most high level refs I know of have blown games and situations much worse than this. The reality that players, coaches, and parents don't understand is that we learn by mistakes; and having people charge in like that just makes the ref want to quit, which depletes yet another option. Serious kudos to far side AR - he really seemed to salvage the situation.

    The incident happened because of red # 17 and most people completely missed it.
    Why did the white player kick red #17? Just about everyone who commented completely missed it. Well after the whistle, Red #17 went up behind the white player who was laying on the ground and intentionally kneed him in the back. White player got up and then kicked him in the knee.
    I’m a referee. The correct call is for red #17 to get a red card for violent conduct and for the white player to see red also for violent conduct.
    Red #17 tried to be very tricky and rough up the white player after the initial play by kneeing him in the back when he wasn’t looking.

      I agree. It was only when the play was shown in slow motion was it clear that 17 CLEARLY did something to 11 when 11 was on the ground. At first I thought that 11 went after the wrong kid but after slo mo, it's clear 17 was at fault.

    • @kensavage7657
      @kensavage7657 Před 5 lety +1

      As an ex-referee, I thought something was up with red #17 - but I couldn't see enough on the first play. At the time, I was concentrating on the red #9 who was trying to get the ball while white #11 was lying over it. To this point, there was no foul - and the play was stopped correctly when white #11 handled the ball.
      Having the benefit of video replay, I agree that you're completely correct. Red #17 is guilty of violent conduct. Both should have been sent off.
      If you look at the referee, she seems to look away at the exact moment that Red #17 strikes. While she's at the perfect angle to see the incident, I can understand why she didn't notice it. But I can also understand why the referee's assistants didn't see it either - my view was drawn to the danger area - which is any player when the ball is in play and they're off their feet. So, it sucks that it wasn't caught during the game, but I can't blame anyone here.
      Great spot on your part though!

    The lack of experience of the referee is noted. She must whistle and immediately go to the foul zone (the zone where the conflict is born) and take the ball and take control of the situation. She didn't, that's why it all erupted into a fight. They should hire referees with more experience and more considering that the spectators are parents who can easily end up fighting defending their children.

Guess what, I didn't charge the field. I ran to that end of the field, made eye contact with the ref as he shook his head for me to enter the field. So I guess your theory was wrong. Also, like I said if I were the ref on that game I would have sent the dad off for coming at me instead of tending to his child. The permission to enter the field is not to tell me what you think I am doing wrong. Not to mention most parents are ignorant of the laws of the game and just scream from emotion. I'm assuming the female referee is in the beginning of her officiating career and is hesitate to call some penalties and missed the trip. She will develop with time to notice those plays more quickly and blow the whistle quicker when a player is on the group. However, missed calls happen and kicking someone on a dead ball is ridiculous and that player should be ejected and parents need to stay on the sidelines. Your kids coach will attend to a injured player and you will be summoned if it requires your attention.

    #9 in red was the one that initiated the incident. The ref blew the whistle. #9 kept trying to kick the ball kicking the player that was down at least twice. Thne the kid that was kicked , kicked another player in red.

    So NO one including the CR, AR and especially commentators here that have replay, saw the red player come over and kick the white player while he was on the ground (and I am not talking about the player kicking at the ball - look at the second red player that comes in). Minimum should have been a strong second whistle to stop the dangerous play, then a send off for the red player that kicked white while on the ground, and then a send off for the white player that kicked red in retaliation.

      the Ref only blew the whistle as the kid in red kicked the kid in white. play was still active as far as the kid in red was concerned. he went for the ball in my opinion. Parents on the side line came running in and being aggressive. they are obviously passing that on to their kids. Ref should have blew quicker and kid in white lashed out.
