The ref turned a blind eye on a head contact tackle by TJ. Hurricanes got well beaten. TJ should have got yellow carded. Not sure what’s up with those forward passes. Love played some real individual rugby too. Chiefs too good.
I thought the Canes lineup with a 6/2 split on the bench. 6 forwards 2 backs were going to dominate come the 2nd half but credit to the Chief defence. It was world-class👌
If I were the Hurricanes head coach, I'd straight up quit on this shambles of a team, because they absolutely STANK and quit on me. If I couldn't afford to, I'd bloody murder them for their inability to show up to one of the most important games of their season. A terrible night for the team that not only finished as top seeds, but would have also hosted the final if they had not accumulated over double digits in handling errors. Not to mention the idiocy of the absolute doorknob that is Perenara, where he was incredibly lucky to be on the field after his head on head incident. Not that that mattered, since the game was pretty much done after the first 20 minutes. The Hurricanes are quite possibly the ultimate chokers in the competition. Remember the '15 final, when they also finished top, but lost at home when it truly mattered? Well, it's happened again.
and it really looked like the tmo was on the hurricanes side too. TJ escaped a red card without a penalty and a hit on D-Mac was later than the one on Barrett.
How TJ wasn't yellow carded or even red carded for his upright head on head tackle beats me. it's been a red card all year.. and an equally late hit on a D-Mac goes without a penalty let alone a card. they really wanted a wellington home final didn't they .... hmmmmm...
Now that's how you do it! What a spactatlar performance there from the Mighty Chiefs! Also firstly Fair play to the Hurricanes. Secondley there was lots of conversiual moments like.... 1. The TMO didn't see when TJ Paranara had that head clash with Chiefs no.9 Cortez Ratima. That should had been a Red card to TJ Paranara. 2. That Cortez Ratima try should had been given! But the same issue like last year's World Cup Final when they disallow Aaron Smiths try. (Which later own World Rugby admitted that got that wrong, and it should had been a try!) Because they didn't pick up the mistake sooner, rather than checking it after the Chiefs has just scored. 3.) That Etenne-Nanai Seturo Try should had been given! Because if you slow it down on the replay Chief's no.6 Senipeni Finau only just passed the ball intime before his legs stepped to touch. Don't know why the TMO was blind and didn't see that! Forthly this has been 11 years in the making for the Mighty Chiefs to go through to the 2024 Super Rugby Pasifika Final! The Last time the Mighty Chiefs won was back in (2012/2013) 2012: Chiefs 37-6 Sharks 2013: Chiefs 29-22 Brumbies With Bunki Aki (11 years before he played in Ireland)
2 the world cup was wrong cos it was KO, they can only go back 2 phases. but for foul play there is no limit how far back the referee can go back to. 4. Didnt cheifs loose to the crusader last year mate? How could u forget. Congratulations both your teams made to the final. I guess u win either way next weekend
Sititi had a blinder. Tupaea had a big impact in the last 20. He had two pivotal steals which I believe turned to points for one of them. And also assisted in a try with quick hands. Stellar defence too. Quick note. His World Cup dreams were shattered by one of the most grub moves by Darcy Swain. I believe Darcy has not yet apologised either. Shameful stuff.
@@Wildkard ImHe’s all talk and a real grub. He’s made a lot of noise in the public, yet more emotion about him missing out on the World Cup, as opposed to shattering another players dreams with an illegal tackle. There is an article on ESPN titled ‘'I'm not a grub': Brumbies' Darcy Swain ready to change opinions with on-field actions’ Maybe it’s a legal thing as to why he hasn’t publicly apologised.
@@Wildkard One doesn’t have to say they intended to cause harm. The action shows his intent. It’s the most cynical and intentional action I’ve ever seen. Watch it again in slow mo. If you find a public apology (words out of his mouth), let me know. I haven’t seen one yet. I might be wrong.
@@poerava well mate u just gota let it go. A lot of people said shannon frizel "attacked" bongi mbonambi's leg causing a leg injury at the rugby world cup final. Which the referee yellow carded him for"attacking the leg". Should he publically appoligize
Really good Analysis. Great to hear a Hurricanes supporter acknowledge that the yellow card against Jacobsen was nonsense. I believe the TMO brought it to the Refs attention because he felt it was high, when the replay showed it wasn't high the TMO was forced to pivot to it being late and with force to justify his intervention. Should have been a penalty only. In the 2nd half the TMO also let Perenara get away with a front on head on head contact (that was worse than Finau's on Perenara). This should have been a yellow card but wasn't even penalized. Really poor performance by the TMO, hopefully he isn't allowed to get anywhere near the final.
Both the head contacts felt like they were straight from State of Origin, given softer penalties than we would have expected as to not ruin the game...ironic considering that SoO actually gave the red card. The contract on TJ was completely upright, high speed, and completely understandable kinetics. My mates and I saw a headshot to the back of the head with no mitigation. TJs contact was the same. Then the late contract on Jordie we all saw as play on. Weird decisions all over
i had to watch this on primer sport Asia they didn't upload for hours after game, just managed to squeeze this in at siagon airport, bloody airport beer prices but worth every cent 😅🎉🎉🎉
Damn that was a pretty entertaining game. Chiefs definitely deserved it - pulled through even with the cards. I think like you say, the chiefs rush defence was the key. Canes fumbled the ball all night under that pressure. Dont think the same game plan will work against the blues tho, they dont let the backs have the ball unless its for another hit up lol. Will be a lot more set piece focused game.
Haha that so true blue backs be chilling 90% time. Chiefs got out powered by the forward pack last time they really need to step up next week if they want to win it.
Real anticlimactic way for the Canes to end their season. They’ve been the best team to watch this year, played great running rugby and showed a lot of flare. They just shat the bed big time, poor discipline, missed tackles, handling errors.
TJ lost them the game. 2 tries from his mistakes. They kept trying to milk penalties instead of playing with the ball. I pray TJ doesn't make the ABs cause his slow ball kills momentum. Then, he always runs sideways. Over TJ at International level. Congrats on your Successful season canes hopefully you become more disciplined next year
UP DA CHIEFS also the ref was pretty shit bro lukes yellow as trash it was 1 seconds late wrapped about not high and its yellow but TJs one high not arms head on head not even looked at but anyway were going to the final UP DA CHIEFS
That bloody Perenara .....why can't the dude just play the game to his team's best advantage instead of fartarsing around behind the breakdown trying to influence the Ref giving the opposition plenty of time to reset. I always wondered why he rarely started ABs I'm of the opinion he should not be the incumbent AB half back.
So glad a ref finally called out perenara like that. Such a pain to watch always trying to milk a penalty every 30 seconds.
classic whinging idiot
the all blacks do not need shit like that, speed not bs whinging

Was surprised that Chiefs were able to hold of Tyrell Lomax in the scrums considering what he did to them the last time they met.
Yeah lomax has been injured dont think he looked 100%
