i think they have a club world cup coming up, but i dont think the time difference is good for viewers and its not feasible for players to travel time zones constantly either
The best thing about that blues team is how disciplined they are. Penalty counts are very low. AJ Lam at 12 has been a surprise for me, but his discipline on defense in the 12 channel is good. That's what impressive their "wingers" love contact and love defense instead of the typical winger
One low one high in the tackle, rugby league tactics. The blues use their wingers to tire out the opposition forwards creating a miss-tackle or drawing a penalty by forcing the defence line to continue to back peddle...
So what you are saying is that realistically the Chiefs have got no hope of beating the Blues. That would make for a bit of a shifty weekend for me. Come on Chiefs. No matter what, win or lose, show us some of that Chiefs mana on the weekend. Give us a performance that we can all he proud of. Interesting different takes, I don't see the blues doing anything around halfback, working around their forwards is not working around 9. Harry plumber is much more a proper 10 rather than a 15 playing at 10, kick and distribute rather than running himself. I agree with the 4 winger battering rams of the blues, I would not pick a single one of them for the ABs. Chiefs have been losing set piece most of the year, they mostly get the ball in and out of the scrum quick before it can be an issue. Chiefs absolutely demolished the breakdown vs hurricanes with chop tackles with the loosies and the backs all getting 2nd man jackel over the ball fast. I expect Ben O'Keefe to screw them yet again. Chiefs kept hurricanes out of red zone(where their defence has been poor), i don't think you can expect the blues to have as many errors as hurricanes had. The loosies contest is going to be interesting again, all 3 chiefs completely dominated the hurricanes where in my mind before game i had Lose and Lakai being strong competators.
Bit harsh on the 4 wingers mate, i think telea has good enough stats to make it. It really is a battle for the breakdowns and i think the chiefs hooker issue might be their biggest problem
@@Wildkard people love telea jumping around and avoiding people, but he has about the worse ball security of anyone in the whole team. Guaranteed multiple turnovers and/or not releasing penalties after he's isolated himself every single game.

when ur showing the defence of the chiefs i think its good cause u see in most of them the other team has a 3 man over lap and u said blues like going up the middle so that means the chiefs have most of there players on the inside protecting the middle witch the blues like to use and there have been like 80% good of defence of the wide channel so there covering middle and outside channel?
3 man over lap is cos there is a full back out of shot for the chiefs. Generally the defense fan out to match the outside. Yes the point of the rush out wide is to box the attacking team into the middle of the field but the blues already jam it 90% of the times so the move is kinda of unessesary against the blue
when u were talking about defence this is not the same chiefs team that they were 3 weeks ago this a team that held the reds to 21 points while ran up 43 points and still made more tackles and held the hurricanes in wellington to only 19 points while putting up 30 with more tackles and more run metres so chiefs have gotten way better since round 15 and u mite say its the same team its gonna happen again but its not the same team there not `100% there realized what they need to do and it very well
Just saw the Ref appointments for the final and the incompetent Brett Cronan is the TMO ..... Unbelievable!! Ref is Nick Berry. Assistants are Damon Murphy and Jordan Way. TMO is Brett Cronan. That is an absolute joke and a total indictment on the whole Referring system. Brett Cronan had an absolute shocker last week in the Hurricanes v Chiefs Semi-Final ...... His crap performance was talked about on this channel in your review of the game. His performance was also widely criticized by almost all the regular rugby review shows including The Breakdown, Aotearoa Rugby Pod, Rugby Pass to name a few. His yellow card call against Jacobsen was a joke and his failure to take action against the high head on head tackle made by Perenara were two very notably bad decisions in what was a really shocking performance. And his reward for his abysmal display ....... he is the TMO in the final. If a player had a game that bad he would be dropped. The referee review system is a complete joke, it is a completely broken internal system where mates are asked to review their mates. No wonder we are always told the Refs are fantastic and that the fans are always wrong when they are critical of Referring performances. What a bad bad joke!!!!
TMO dont have that much influence on the game now days. so its really all up to nick berry. and i would definitely preferred another one here. Aussie referees have no idea when it comes to scrum, when both teams are so good at scrum i think ben o'keefe would be the best choice. but we'll see how it goes...
@Wildkard Yes during most of the game TMOs have little impact, but (and it is a very big but) TMOs have a HUGE influence on bringing foul play to the Refs attention. The Chiefs got two yellow cards last week entirely due to the TMO bringing them to Angus Gardiners attention. The Finau call was correct but going back so far and ruling out a Chiefs try was tough. The second yellow against Jacobsen was a joke and was a penalty at best. Cronan also got a query from Angus Gardiner about the Perenara head on head tackle and inexplicably said it was fine when it clearly was not and should have been a yellow card. In tight games like finals cards can often be the difference between winning and losing .... and that is where TMOs have an outsized influence. Had there been a better TMO (more consistent) in the World Cup Final with Sam Cane getting a yellow card instead of a red (or once that was set as the standard) had the TMO also red carded Kolisi for a very similar offense maybe the ABs are now World Champions and not the Boks. So unfortunately TMOs are critical and Cronan aftervlast weeks incompetence should not have been given the final.

The process clearly lacks any accountability for crap performances, which is why Cronan and the other Aussie TMOs are bad. You will never get improvement if bad performances aren't scrutinized / punished.

tbh we only lost by 10 cause mckenzie would`ve made tho two conversions that were missed from basically right out in front so it is basically 31-21
