How much does it cost to get into this? Like a suit and what not
I just bought a new helmet today for $375. You can spend less than that for hand protection. Keep in mind this is for SCA activities in this video. Not prices for buhurt steel fighting. Armor in this a lot of it is motorcycle gear under some clothes. Or you can spend more and have actual leather or plate. A lot of people make their own armor. You really only need elbows, knees, and Kidney protection

@FredD0847 Hello! I just got back from my first SCA event at Pennsic this morning! I don't know if other SCA events also sell armor and such like Pennsic, but I would say you should go to an event first with just the basics. You should be able to buy basic stuff there if you can't find anything. But look into getting some form of protective gear like mentioned in the poster's comment! You will need to practice and work your way up to being a safe fighter. They won't just let you run into one of these battles with no experience. So I would say not to dive fully in to purchases until you have gone to an event. You can ask staff how to get started or if you run into someone with a white belt they will definitely know the direction to point you in. Besides armor you will need garb such as some linnen tunics and linnen pants as basic start. A lot of people tend to do roman garb, 14th century European, or viking garb, but there are other types as well. It is a whole thing but it is very fun!!! I hope you can find yourself at an event soon!!!
